Street Fighter II: Champion Edition - Ken [Playthrough/LongPlay]
Developer/Publisher: Capcom
Platform: Arcade
Release Date: 1992
Street Fighter II: Champion Edition, released as Street Fighter II Dash (stylized as Street Fighter II′ with a prime symbol) in Japan, is a fighting game released by Capcom in 1992. It was launched for arcades and converted to several video game consoles. It is the first of several updated versions of Street Fighter II, and part of the Street Fighter series. The main changes are the addition of the four grand masters (the final four computer-controlled opponents in the single-player mode) as playable characters and mirror matches. The fighting techniques of the eight main characters from the original game were further balanced for competitive play.
Champion Edition was followed several months later by Street Fighter II Turbo.

I miss arcades, today, at 50 years old, it was great to spend time with friends.
Man you ain’t lying. Great times, even though I really wasn’t that great a Guile or Ken player

Best game ever 100% way better than all new generation game .....miss this time so much
Nah the games now a days are bether
I 💯💯💯💯 agree. The newer ones became "juggle fighter". You can even cancel/block/reversal into a juggle. The mental combat game is gone. All you need is alot of super meter.
👍agreed agreed 💯
now a days game full of combo's formula acts not examination of reflexes during double fight
Eh. SF3 Third Strike is still the best Street Fighter. We all love SF2 but come on.

I did. I totally predicted this in 1992. I mean... it was obvious.
I was born in 1992 and glad I grew up with this and many other things
No one would have thought of this in early 90s
I was 11 years old when this game came out. The popularity of it was insane, I've never seen anything like it since then. Its all kids at school could talk about, and it wasn't just the kids, i remember seeing ppl of all ages playing it.
Right at about the time this game was blowing up everywhere, i remember my parents took us to Las Vegas for weekend getaway. We stayed at the circus circus hotel because it was one of the more family oriented casinos, and they had a humongous arcade. This being the hottest game in the market, they had multiple machines of it and every single one was full of players. In the middle of the room they had a machine that had a really large screen where only the most daring and skilled players would face off against each other, and there were tons of on-lookers just watching.
I remember sitting there watching just in awe by how good these people were. I could barely pull off a haduken, and these guys were masterful just pulling off special moves with easy.
This was also the first time i had ever seen Balrog's vegas stage. Nobody i knew had ever made it that far in the game, so i thought maybe this was just a specially made version of street fighter 2 for the casino, but it wasnt. One after another people were lining up to play and when one would lose, another challenger would join, all on that balrog vegas stage while i was in vegas. It was quite the spectacle, a memory I'll never forget.
Increible! Que envidia!😁
Gracias x relatar esas experiencias. Que envidia de la buena . Mientras otros en latam. (me incluyo) 😅
This game was everywhere back in the day from laundrymat, barbershop, grocery store to a damn bus station. It was always the game that drew the crowd. Even saw grown men have fights because someone lost and couldnt handle taking a L. i was bout 10 or 11 yrs old at the time
I saw this arcade game for the first time at a donut shop. I was 8 at the time and my Mom used to take me and my brother there after school. Fell in love with this game ever since
Lol funny for you to say about you seeing fights and yes I believe you. This occasion was at a 711 and this guy was whooping everybody getting there turn and he was playing as guile and he was doing that throw glitch and this lowlife looking dude was a victim to the guile player and when he lost and he yelled I don't got no quarters and he punched the guile player in the face and left the store and screamed FN cheater lol.
@@woodyboy6493imagine all the shit that went down back in the day before phones to catch people
Good ol'days
Some guy starting fighting me because I beat him 3 times but I put him down a dragon punch.
this game aged like a fine wine
Wow, 2 perfects on M Bison. I first came across this in Pakistan. No day was complete without playing this masterpiece. We used to spend hours in the arcade. Wonderful memories
Its said when you do this you unlock akuma
Very lucky against Sagat tho. That uppercut is the best move in the game
Every punch, every kick is just another memory coming flooding back!!!
Its bring backs my 90's old school memory......
Just hearing the sound reminds me of putting my quarter in the machine and ready to battle when I was a kid...
Thanks for your accepting my comment...
The way you combo Ken is just masterful! Thoroughly enjoyed watching this vid.
Yeah Ken and Ryu were definitely the most well rounded fighters in the game with the best combo moves as well!
Tenho 44 tbm. Bons tempos aqueles passados nos fliperamas nos anos 90. Esses sons vem carregados de nostalgia.

This game as well as the first street fighter was years ahead of it’s time. This game is still very prevalent today
Old memories. What a days. Street fighter one of my favorite game. Just like yesterday. Thank you for sharing a masterpiece game of my life,
The fierce punch sound effect is by far one of the best sound effects ever created!!
Kinda sounds like the punches from the Indiana Jones series when Jones punches someone😆
The first sign that I had made a huge mistake trading in "Turbo" for "The New Challengers" on the SNES was the weak-ass hard punch/kick sound effects!
The hurrican deep upclose followed by the quad from ken to zangief was imperious

I’m so glad I have the Street Fighter 30th anniversary edition for my Xbox and let me tell you I never get tired of it because you’re playing the Arcade versions which is amazing!!
The snes versions where a disappointment to me but when got notified of PS1 sf collection release I was excited but when got it was something that felt it wasn't exact arcade and even with the release of sf on PS2 with the capcom classics didn't seem like exact arcade version but the PS4 sf anniversary seems like exact arcade version especially with the glitches included👍
Those spammed shoryukens, how deep, and how much passion was put into that. The best voice ever!!
The sound bites and background sounds are epic
Perfect 2nd round victories over Zangief, Dhalsim, E. Honda, Blanka, and Vega, *and* a perfect match victory both rounds against M.Bison himself 😀 Excellent! 😎👏🏽
Just keep jump kicking Zangief, don't let him block your ground moves or he'll spinning pile drive your ass.
He found the glitch

Never seen the hurricane kick used so effectively... 🤯
If you time it right and do it as they rise you get the strikes from left to right. It murders em.
Some characters are more susceptible than others.
This version of SFII Ken has the "pull" Tatsumaki (aka the Cyclone Kick) while other versions get the push Tatsu (aka the Hurricane Kick). This is of course my favorite version, but it was nerfed in subsequent iterations.
@@aaronwalcott513 No. Neither Ken or Ryu have a "pull" in their spin kicks in any SF2 adaptation. Only Difference is Kens, is faster and weaker with consecutive strikes,
while Ryus is slower, stronger, travels further and is a knock down hit.
What is going on here is, the player in timeing the spin kick in the middles of the opponents rising. Once they get caught each strike counts. Stunning the enemy with each hit allowing no escape till the move is completed. What you are seeing
is a "stun lock".
Timing this attack correctly as described is the only way to pull this effect off. If there was an actual "pull" like in the later SF games you wouldnt have to do it this way a described.
Like the jump kick combo he does in this game are technical misses, but they land anyway leading up a 3 to 4 hit combo. Just like the (Timed )Tatsumaki , these are exploits. Nothing more.
@@user-cd7kb7nx4v actually, no. First, a knockdown on hit is automatically a "push." The only other SFII Champion Edition where Ryu has a pull is Flowers, and that is a bootleg version. Even in the Rainbow edition his Tatsu was a push. Also, if you load Ken in, say, Hyper Fighting version of SFII, you'll see even though he has a multi-hit Tatsu, it can't suck them in on cross-up like this one. Go try it and see.
@@aaronwalcott513 Interesting, Im willing to explore other possibilities. Though I will add that considering mods ( even for illustrating a point ) should be out of the question.
Since I was 10 years old playing this game in the arcades, Ken has always been my dude. Always. I dabbled with Chun-Li and Blanka for a few minutes and eventually learned to use Ryu and Akuma fairly well, but Ken was, is and will always be my #1 guy. ✌
Where r u from my friend?
I agree me too
This is why Ken was always superior in SF2. I always loved his version of the multi-hit hurricane kicks plus the forward shoryuken. Unbeatable
Ryu & Sagat was 10x better
Just looking at all these characters again is so legendary, and I'm mad that I couldn't see Chun LI signature leg kick 🔥🔥🔥😅
@@richardmorris5438 Ikr, he was beating them too fast , I wanted to see Honda's hand combo 😂😂😂😂
@@DLL8252 oh Sagat is my guy too.
But explain how Ryu is 10x better.
@@LightHadou Ken always seemed like the watered down american version of Ryu ,Ryu's strength and stability, focus and determination was overwhelming, Ken tried to compete but all he had was all of Ryu's moves with SPEED 😆😆😆 I just always preferred Ryu over Ken.
Ken is like “someone give me a real fight, M. bison is a joke” 😂😂😂😂😂
Remembering days where in highschool . Watta memories😢
My Goodness me !! What a Nostalgia this video brought today. I remember playing the game against so many good players and my Fav was KEN, He is my hero and I was damn good playing with "Hadooken" & "Shoryuken" Hits. Loved it.
Ken has always been my favorite

Poor Bison, he never saw that coming 😂
Poor Bison, was completely knocked out in just 49 seconds 👊🏻💥
You actually counted it 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Crazy how he could do this to bison but couldn't do this to balrog and vega who are the easiest bosses in champ edition.
I always play this when i was in high school and college IM 47 NOW MISS THIS SO MUCH!!!

Still best game in the world. I am now 43 can not forget those days when used to play whole day

The car crushing was always a treat 😅
#STREET4EVER

When Ken beat M. Bison in the first round with a perfect AND made him break the statue at same time, that slowly brought a tear to my eye. PERFECT!
This was amazing! Awesome skills!
Bons tempos. Hahaah. Fliperama há 15 metros de casa haahah.
This game was so popular in the early 90’s I remember watching Baywatch & they did an episode where the kids would hang out at I think was an arcade & play this game all day, I remember watching it as a kid thinking ‘I’m not the only one who plays SF2’ 😂
Impressive two perfect finales 😎
It can't be, 32 years ago I played Street Fighter how life passes so quickly 😢

Ken vs sagat was INTENSE!
Ken is insane wit those Spinkicks.🌪️🌪️🌪️🌪️💯
The money my bro and i spent on this game in the arcades... absolutely worth it
Great comment brother that got everyone's juices flowing in this comment section with their great stories on this game. I could read them all because it takes me back to those memorable years. Spent so much money as well as time at pizza places, arcades, and convenience stores playing it. From 92-94 it was everywhere with those butter 🧈 graphics and great sounds. Gravitated to a Ryu fan, but started with Ken who's got better moves in this one. Then got it on SNES and afterwards all of its incarnations. I like it on Sega Saturn the best. If any of y'all haven't seen the anime's you should, it goes well with the game and nostalgia you love. Heck while you're at it get a T-shirt and a wall scroll or poster thatd be more to the ill-ah. I'll give you mad propz. Peace folks, in Sf 2 Champion Ed. we trust.
Arcade graphics are so crisp 😳
Round 2 of Zangief was dirty!! I can't wait to see him use Ryu! My favorite Character!

@@MeteCanKarahasan he sucks in champ edition well I mean the drone cp. He throws fireballs to obviously. In og sf2 he's a ass because he does fireballs unpredictable and his hits are strong especially the tiger shoruken punch.
