Honda, like took 26 years off, or whatever. Anyway, this thing looks and sounds phenomenal. Honda is back in the game now. I'm jumping in very soon!!
26 years off? Google greatest motocross bike of all time and you'll see 07 and 08 crf450 takes that spot. They are now getting back to that design and even brought back the unicam motor.
It’s not like Honda doesn’t know the deficiency’s that you mentioned. A very high percentage of the people purchasing it are going to notice and be required to spend more money just to feel confident, something in their corporate culture needs to change allowing the feedback from test riders during development to end up on the production bikes. Bottom line is when poor suspension setup is not allowing full effort from the target weight range riders at any skill level but can be fixed by aftermarket companies it’s not Honda’s capability but their willingness to apply TESTERS feedback into production. Engineering data isn’t always real world. Ps: Your communication of what to expect is from the areas most people are concerned about is second to none! Thanks for the truth!

People complaining about comparing to ktm... ya because ktm is leading the industry in innovation and performance. Whether you like em or not you have to admit they are the Mercedes of dirt bikes right now
i understand your comparison however i also realize you are probably not an auto repair mechanic. none of the techs at the local benz store drive a benz. they drive toyotas and hondas mostly. if somebody gave me a benz i would liquidate it as soon as possible and spend that money on a ktm hahaha!

i can see what your saying, however, i feel that is some of the best and coolest parts of "on any sunday" that make my heart swell the hardest to go riding myself. that movie was beautiful.
Mixed up a few of your facts. Forks are 5mm longer from the 20 not 10, and they claim 3lbs lighter then the 20 not 5. Still a good review tho. How clean was the mapping though? Seen another review said the bike had a lot of decel pop.
Sounds like you don’t like the bike at all .... you may think I’m crazy but my 2015 air forks on both my 250 and 450 were some of the best forks I’ve ridden . ...
It makes me laugh that all you guy's making comments about the Honda just from the reviews you've heard over the past...if you ever rode one you would know that a Honda 450r is the most powerful, stable bike out there at speed and, on the throttle. It has a more rigid frame than any other bike that tracks straighter and, is more stable at speed when rode hard and, fast. And, yes it isn't the easiest bike to ride for most guy's because, of the power it has and, the frame being so rigid. Also, the steering being tighter than other bikes does take a little getting use to. If you are an average 160 to 180 lb rider the stock Showa front forks work absolutely awesome and, eat up the big bumps better than any other fork out there. And, yes I have rode them all and, can tell you that a Honda really does give you wings!

Obviously you haven't rode a crf 450r because, if you have rode a crf 450r in stock form you definitely wouldn't say it doesn't feel the most powerful.
it's exactly like a very nice carb with bad jetting the part is great but tuned like crap it's going to act like crap. the technology is not the tuning. magazines have to keep it pretty coarse and general for the public.

KTM Action strikes again. Clearly comparing this bike to a pumpkin with cone valves. Those air forks are completely bogus and anyone who can at least half ride converts the air forks back to spring forks.
never mentions cone valve suspension. he compares the frames, which a suspension guy cannot help directly. so even worse news for guys with "feelings" about honda. however ktm solved this problem completely because you can just buy a red ktm now. "feelings.... nothing more than feelings...."

Glad you are expressing your thoughts but it sounds to me like you are a huge KTM spokesman and I'm really surprised that Honda sounds like a pile of crap after listening to your review. Crazy thing because I have never had issues in my past with Honda but again I don't have the KTM crush like the new kids on the block are getting. I sure hope if people are wanting to research models before buying one that this isn't the only video that they watch because it's not going to be a unbiased explanation of the bike. Look at other reviews and see what other real professional reviews have to say. Do the research and schedule a test ride at a dealership so you can do your own research before pulling the trigger 😉.
Better yet get a factory edition honda, its gonna win the mxgp championship and got 3rd in the ama championship and the 250 has won the 2021 ama 250 championship, ride red

I own the bike and am an A rider. There is a tiny bit of decel pop from the high rev to idle in the air in the standard mode. Not bad at all
