Lucky!! I started skating when I was 3 and did it for two years but then my mom took me out. I’m 14 now and I’m trying to regain what I lost. It hurts to think about where I would be if I stayed from then

I absolutely love ice skating and I think it's so beautiful, but where I'm from there are no rinks nor coaches =/ I really want to learn, but just watching your videos makes me feel inspired and give me some hope that some day I'll be able to accomplish my dream :)
Try rollerblade skating first (inline skates), it will help when you goice skating for the first time. It is easier than ice skating, because it gives you more stability and you don't need a rink for it. In my country ice skating rinks are only open for half a year and when i was a kid i used to go rollerblading with my siblings.
I'm in the same, I am 14 years old and I would love to be an figure skater, but there are no ice rinks in the place where I live, and sometimes I get very sad about that. I hope one day I can achieve my dream. Good luck!

in my country there are less than 20 rinks, and my country is about the size of America!! it makes me really sad, but luckily my wishes came true because last month a small rink opened in my rural town!!

True, I roller blades a ton as a child and I just started both figure skating and hockey skating and I’ve had a much, much easier time than a lot of people.

I'm so going to try the one foot stop next time, the first snowplough I did I did so well I nearly went flying forward, I'm now too scared to do it! I'm struggling on one foot glides at the moment so I'm going to try hard at lessons next week :D

the other day, my family went skating, and we FLEW to the rink after they finished using the zamboni (?), and my cousin face planted so hard that he got a black eye. convinced his friends that he got in a fight. great day.

I've been fascinated by ice skating in general since I was a kid and always enjoyed watching figure skating; so much skill on display!
I grew up in the southeastern US and ice rinks aren't very common (as far as I know), and the roller rinks were always very crowded, but roller-blading had to do it for me until the day I could try the ice. Hopefully, that'll be sooner than later!

Yo I just got back from skating at my local rink, and I saw one of your videos on the screen there! This video to be exact! On the screens they usually just show figure skating competitions, ice hockey, and occasionally some inspirational and educational videos. I've just never seen your video there before, and thought it was neat!
I howled at the beginning, and at your captions-you have a great sense of humor! So glad your emphasized warming-up before skating; it's essential. Just one suggestion: we all do it automatically, but try not putting your hand on the ice when you fall. You could fracture your wrist. Afterwards, tuck in immediately, then get up (I teach Learn to Skate). Otherwise, excellent job!!

I stumbled across one of your progress videos a few weeks ago and it honestly inspired me to start figure skating! I've been doing some recreational skating with family/school in the winters growing up(never been on an inside rink before starting lessons lol only outside rinks and frozen lakes, just Norway things) so I have more balance than the other beginners in my class etc but I never went backwards in my life until two weeks ago when I started them lol. So thanks for the inspiration

I know how to properly skate but not figure skate and I'm fascinated by figure skating but never took any lessons, but HA you inspired me and I'll be taking lessons once the ice rinks open again!! I was discouraged a few years back because I kept reading that you can only start as a child, but being now an 18 years old who doesn't care about anything, I'm r e a d y :)

i already know how to skate but dudddeeeee that ice looks good! My ice rink is usually very crowded so the ice gets destroyed very easily and when everyone leaves you can't practice because the ice is literally so bad. But I just learned how to stop so now I can get to the cool things
I absolutely love the idea of skating, Although I’ve never committed to actually learning because I didn’t know where to start… I’ve have skates for years (that still fit) Although finding ice is almost impossible for me as i can’t go to rinks

the swizzles that u did are rocking horses or thats how i was taught i used to take lessons but its been a while but once i get on the ice i can zooooommm around everyone. I was with my school and i was skating fast and they are like how are u so good and im like "i used to take lessons" they were TOOOTTTEEESS JELLY

I've only skated once in my life and I LOVED IT! However in 2018 I had an accident while playing volleyball and broke my knee legitimate (I think that's how it's called?) ... Now I don't feel comfortable enough to try skating again even if it's been more than a year since my surgery, cause I still haven't recovered fully. I hope one day I'll try it again....
