I'm so excited to share my tips and tricks for ice skating beginners. I know many of you are skating enthusiasts and have not had the chance to learn so I hope this video helps you narrow down the basic skills of figure skating.

Emaan Hassan 3 seconds ago, btw i went yesterday and here are some tips. 1. Dont look down. 2. Trust yourslef even if you fall (dont fall on your knees., i did and now its bruised. 3. Dont go on the wall 4. Try to push off once and balance because i didn”t and if you keep pushing you will lose balance and fall since you dont know how it feels

This seems like crazy advanced the only thing I got out of it is how to fall and get backup after that I'm just trying not to die
Watch dirty deborah roller skating basics
The biggest thing that can‘t be overstressed enough while skating is keeping your knees bent. It helps you keep your balance and it makes moves like swizzles and wiggles much easier and more natural.
One thing I’ve experienced is when you start to practice with no guidance, you learn to skate wrong but it teaches you balance, then you keep adjusting and re learning balance until you’re doing it right, because you start with both legs straight and feet apart and then you learn how to shift your weight from foot to foot and to bend your knees.

This is legit what you learn in basic lessons so very good video for those who cant afford classes. Im currently in basic adult lessons and thats most of it. The marching, then one foot glide, foward/backwards swizzles, stopping, wiggles. The only thing missing here is practing on the circles painted in the ice doing pumps and learning crossovers

Big WOW !! Happy memories. At around 50 years, took beginner group lessons, with all the kids! Lost my huge fear of 'outside edges' and just the biggest thrill doing inside and outside 'three-turns'...beautiful feeling! I'm 84 now....thanks for listening!!!!!
I just tried it at age 29 with my co-workers/friends...... kept falling and back up for the entire duration of 1 hour and 45 min. lol ...
i went ice skating a couple weeks ago and i fell 5 times the 3rd time i hurt my knee and i was trying to get off the rink. and now we are going ice skating again and i had really bad anxiety about it, so i decided to watch some videos on to balance and i found this video. and seeing how passionate you are made me feel a lot better and i like your methods for skating. so i want to say thank you

Do you have any tips on how to find a good coach for young adults
Tyler C I have the same problem, I don’t really know how to find a coach at my rink
The best thing to do is to look at your local rink's website for coaches. You should set up trial lessons to see which ones would be a good fit. You can usually tell who is good for you after a few lessons.
There’s only like 2 ice rinks within 25 minutes of me and it’s tough to get lessons can I practice with roller blades?

Well if you live in New York you can drive a mile to New Jersey and there’s a American dream mall, there’s a rink,store and more!
the only one near me is in winter wonderland in london but that only comes at christmas (and due to covid it wont be going on this year) but its only like 10 minutes away from me when it is open lmao

I’m so excited. I’ve booked my first skating lesson because I want to do ice skating as a sport. I wasn’t able to do it last year because of everything being locked down. Since everything is opening up I’m so excited. 😝 I can’t wait to learn all of the spins and tricks🥰🙏🏻

After watching this video this is how it went for me.
Step one: Stand on the blades ...... couldn't do it, kept on bending the ankles....ankles got sore and the boots got removed and thrown away in frustration. :)

I'm a begginer teaching myself how to figure skate on inlines (i got them this summer and I'm currently practicing backward swizzles and forward 1 foot glides) I'm so happy that it feels like I'm improving every time I go skating
The proper way to get up is so proper ❤️❤️❤️ I tried ice skating for the first time ❄️ it was so amazing. I also saw kids struggling to get up and taught them the knee thing. So glad I saw this video before going 🥰🥰🥰🥰 beautiful

Edit: I've been once with my friend who is an AMAZING figure skater. I got onto the ice and she looked shocked and I was so confused. She said everyone she has taken ice skating has fallen over straight away. It might be because I love rollerblading though?
I think if you are going to start learning you should start as soon as possible. Most pro skaters start as young as 2 or 3.
