    A river, inside underwater Hyrule. It's like a Spongebob episode.

      The area around Hyrule Castle isn't underwater, the rest of Hyrule is.

      Is water above it? Yes? So it is under water.

    • @Zinerry
      @Zinerry 7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      If taken literally, yes it's underwater, but it's in a giant bubble. What he's referring to is the ocean inside the ocean in spongbob, which this isn't the same thing.

    I think the Triforce at 3:06 is supposed to be a chart that shows the locations of the Triangle Islands where you put the Pearls that form a Triangle/Triforce to raise the Tower of Gods!
    And the woman at 3:23 I always assumed to be Tetra's mother. who gave her the "sacred charm" on her necklace.

      Actually if you connect all Pearl places and first three temples you get a Triforce on the map :D

    The interesting thing about the underwater Hyrule area is that a lot of the castle and surrounding areas do have collision built in, meaning if you use Action Replay and the like you can get onto these areas for some pretty neat views. A few areas have patches you can fall into though, and if you die you spawn at whatever area you came out of originally which kinda sucks. Anyways, neat video sir!

    There's a famous part of Wind Waker that you might not have caught.
    At the end of the game, when the King of Hyrule is standing in front of the completed triforce and facing Ganondorf, the camera is positioned such that it looks like his hand is on it.
    However, if you move the camera a bit, you see that he was actually like 5 feet away from it, and that forced perspective made it *look* like he was touching it. (I can't for the life of me find any references to what I'm talking about, so you'll just have to take my word! lol)
    Nice video, though. One thing that I want to see in future episodes is for you to spend a little more time looking at areas from multiple perspectives. When you're moving around the camera yourself, it's a lot easier to understand how everything's laid out in 3D space. I'd appreciate more angles on areas, like isometric views, because it helps to get a better understanding of how the space is laid out, which is interesting.
    Thanks!

    • @banana4scale132

    You actually do enter in Tetra's room later. The Triforce is the map where you place the pearls down. The picture of Link is from the intro sequence, and it is actually the Hero of Time. Remember that Tetra is Zelda (spoilers) so she absolutely knows all of this stuff and is researching it.
    The picture of Hyrule "flooding" is actually the first slide of the intro that says "Long ago, there existed a Kingdom where a golden power lay hidden. It was a prosperous land blessed with green forests, tall mountains, and peace." The people down below are just townspeople. There's someone with a pot on their head, a horse, a guy with a rake, and a Goron. They're just peaceful people.
    I know this because I have a poster of the intro hanging up above my PC and the detail on it is quite high.
    I'm assuming the picture of the woman is her mom. The part I am confused about though is how the king of Hyrule is her dad but it's been a LOOOONG time since Hyrule was flooded, but the King is still the king from before it flooded so it doesn't make sense to me but maybe somebody else can explain that. Like, how could Tetra be his daughter? Is she even?
    She has beads in there because she's technically a princess.

      Zelda is Tetra, as in Tetragrammaton = yhwh = Iah, princess Ahhotep of Egypt 17th generation = Princess Garnet in FF9, 17th generation Alexandria. Arryl, links sister is Lyrra spelled backwards, as in the comic book character from Lemuria, the continent that sinks into the pacific ocean = Ancient Hyrule.

    Just discovered your vids and loving them so far! :D
    Here's a quick sketchy translation I attempted of Ganondorf's map:
    i.imgur.com/nkA0v6s.png
    - The numerals around the island seem kind of arbitrary; not sure what they're supposed to be labeling exactly: the three searchlights, plus... the other two corners of the fortress?
    - The red lines are pointing to three other islands of the Great Sea: Dragon Roost island to the east, something that's hard to read but almost definitely Outset Island to the south, and something I'm unsure about to the southeast. Logically, it should probably be the Forest Haven (森の島/モリノシマ), but what's actually written doesn't seem to correspond to any known island name I can figure out (although it's the same number of characters as Forest Haven would be). Possibly a beta name...?

    You can go in Tetra's cabin while getting bombs. I also know the pictures. The picture of Link over Tetra's bed and Hyrule across the way, are direct pictures from the legend of the hero of time shown at the beginning of the game. As far as that picture of the triforce in the back, I noticed it's actually the great sea! Tetra is a better explorer than you'd think. I noticed this: the outer lines connect three different islands: Dragon Roost, Greatfish Isle, and Forbidden Woods, which are the three places you'd get the crystals. The triangle in the middle, connect three other islands, which are the triangle islands, where you put the crystals to make the Tower of the Gods appear. Speaking of that, guess where that is in the picture? Directly in the middle of this drawn Triforce. Developers, WELL DONE. As another tidbit, that picture of a constellation is actually a picture of the Star Belt Archipelago, which is an island to the East of Dragon Roost.

  • @mawichan
    @mawichan 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I don't know if anyone else commented on this already. But I think the portrait in Tetra's room must be a portrait of Tetra's mother. The character descriptions included in the Nintendo Gallery figurines of the pirate crew reveal that Tetra's mother was the original Captain of the ship. That she died when Tetra was still a small child and that while she entrusted Tetra with the triforce shard, she entrusted little Tetra to the pirate crew she left behind.
    That's pretty sad, but also kinda interesting, and explains some things about the pirates.

    Great idea for a series. I think ever since I saw Pop Fiction's episode on Golden Eye's secret island, I've been hooked on the idea of seeing what developers have hidden away in their games.
    As for improvement suggestions, if you haven't done so already, try duplicating your prominent and clearer audio track (in this video's case, your left side) to both sides during your on-camera segments. Headphone users will tell you right away that there's an audio imbalance going on there.

    Very cool video. The entire time I was asking how you were accomplishing this feat. Yay we see reminenscence of Gerudo Valley!
    A few people already said, but you can look inside tetra's cabin during your second trip on the ship. The link is from the same legend as told on Outset Island. The triforce picture is actually foreshadowing to the Tower of the Gods with the islands for the Goddess Pearls so the pirates knew something was going on over there and were researching for some supposed great treasure. Or Tetra in general was doing research on the forgotten kingdom she knew nothing about literally being the princess of. I like the joke but those beads are necklaces :P
    I'm 90% sure that picture of the woman is supposed to be Tetra's mom. I forget which one, but one of the pirates, when sailing on the ship, mentions Tetra is so young compared to all of them because she took over as their leader with honorable strength when her mom died unexpectedly. The woman also has a slightly similar hair style to Tetra. It would be highly logical for Tetra to keep a portrait of her beloved and deceased mother in her cabin to remember her :-)

    The map in Ganon's room is not of the Tower of the Gods, it's the Forsaken Fortress. The Hylian on the top of the map reads "Majiyuu-Tou," which means "Demon Beast Island" and that's the Japanese name for the Forsaken Fortress.
    As much as I love Boundary Break, it has a good share of factual errors. I get that it's more focused on showing off cool things than getting details right, but I think that doing both of those things right would make the show a lot better.
    I tried transcribing the rest of the Hylian on the map, but it's kind of hard without a clear shot. I think the second line says "riyukeibuka," or something, but I have no clue if it's right or what it could possibly mean.

    I had a crack at translating the markings on that map. I was able to decipher them into... something. It was tough, because a lot of letters look like they could be something else, and the resolution of that texture doesn't help. Also, the words are either still Japanese, or are complete gibberish.
    -The uppermost one says: "Madayusatou"
    -The mid-right one says: "Soyuunopuma"
    -The lower-right one says: "Machitushirenu"
    -The lowermost one says: "Chihaho" (I think, this one was the hardest)
    Anyway, I'm betting it's total gibberish. Though the fact that it seems pronounceable intrigues me.

      I'm figuring it's Japanese. Even then, it's looking ridiculous. "Madayusatou" means "Still hot sugar," "Soyuunopuma" means "Chuu no Oma," whatever that means, " "Machitushirenu" means "I have to wait," and "Chihaho" means "Blood walks." I think you may have misread "Soyuunopuma."

    You should do shadow of the colossus at some point! That map is huge, and originally was supposed to have more colossi in it. I'm sure there are secrets to be found.

  • @TheGrooseIsLoose
    @TheGrooseIsLoose 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    My theory (and some of this may be confirmed or disproven by things Nintendo has said) is that the map in Ganondorf’s room was originally supposed to be how the player finds the places to go down into Hyrule and beat the dungeons, and then from each dungeon, Link would unlock one piece of the Triforce, and in that final cutscene, they would float up out of the dungeons that Link had beaten, and pull the water in. My guess is that after they cut the dungeons, they cut out that part of the cutscene, but left the pieces of the Triforce up there even though the player would no longer be able to see them there.

    3:30 The bottom half is just a town overlooking the Hyrule Castle. It also seems as if this was the town that they held the Triforce in before Hyrule was covered in water.

    I was kind-of hoping the video wouldn't begin with Hyrule Field, given that's one of the most commonly-explored areas of the Wind Waker. Then again, it did cover some new stuff from new angles, and was generally cool, and then more stuff followed it like the awesome desert stuff, so it all worked out in the end.
    (ps. you can see the goron's heads entirely in game. use the deku leaf!)

    I don't know if anyone else said this already but you are able to access Tetras room in game with no cheats required. When you play Miko's challenge for the second time obtaining the bombs before that entire sequence Tetras room is free to be explored since everyone else is at the bar.

    not sure if you know by now, but the "ominous woman" is Tetra's mother, and the previous captain of the crew. The jewelry likely belonged to her (and might interestingly be heirlooms passed down by Royal princesses of her bloodline).

    The women in the picture is Tetra's mother, also named as Zelda due family tradition, she gave Tetra a different name to protect her. The Pictures in her room are the ancient pictures of Link and the story of how Hyrule got flooded with water, with one of the pictures having the location where the Hyrule castle is under the sea with the instruction sings on how to use Din, Lanaru and Farore's pearls.

    The Gorons face under their hats is an easter egg inside the game- you just use your Duku Leaf on them and the gust blows their hat into the air for a second uncovering their face until they grab the hat and put it back again!
