Cant wait to see the pen, so small and delicate......At least one of those blanks could be an insert to at least one wood blank, maybe an LED small night light? I would like to see that! Loved your lighthouse!
What the blank, Nick? I was geared up and ready to see how the pen turned out...to be continued. The blank turned out really nice and I’m looking forward to the final product. You should make some pen boxes for them too. Cheers! ~Brandon
I love your work. And the steamed up glasses from the cup of tea/coffee/cocoa* is adorable. *As I know not everyone from the U.K./Commonwealth adores tea, I won’t assume.
This is so cool. I am really curious about the pen turning later on. :-) greetings from Germany always safe turning and happy days in the workshop Chris
I'd think you'd need to drill some small holes in the legos to prevent air bubbles from getting trapped in them. Hope it doesn't chip out bad on you when you go to turn it. Probably be fine though
You should put colored resin in those and cut them into pieces like legos and set them in clear resin and make something out of it. I bet it would work better than legos but with the same effect
Can you explain the advantage of a pressure pot over a vacuum chamber? I have access to a vacuum chamber but not a pressure pot. I wasn't sure if the pressure pot just prevented the resin from rising as it does in a vacuum. I feel the vacuum would do a better job getting those bubbles out. I am looking into a small bench top lathe and am interested in making my own blanks, so i was curious if the pressure pot was necessary.
I'm going to making some wooden dice for some friends and I really like the finish you and Heath Knuckles get on your turned pieces. The dice won't be turned but i'd like that same super silky shiny finish. If I sand them to say 3000 grit and then buff them on a system like this would that do the trick you think? I have a 30x1 strip sander and there are leather belts available for it, I was thinking of getting one of those and using the Yorkshire grit on it? Just looking for any thoughts you might have!
When you topped up the resin, could you have used a different colour resin and still have it be strong enough? Or do you have to use the exact same resin on a second pour?
I love your video they're amazing but i have just one complaining to do, can you change songs in them? Just don't always restart the same song, pause it , use more than one pretty please!
Cool looking blank Nick looking forward to seeing the finished pen.

Love your show on TH-cam... was wondering what would happen if you mix resin and disposable gloves???
Idea: a colourful resin funky ashtray...

Where do you get the random bag of lego bits?
Hey nick whats the standard pen blank size

Maxx B I just used the same resin bud
What pressure is delivered to the cjntainer and how long does the epoxide resin gets dry?
Minivan4444 mine takes 24 hours
Thank you for the reply. Could you, please, specify what pressure it needs to get dry in 24 hours?
Make some resin gummy bears in a blank!
Use a candy mold to make gummy bear shapes out of resin. Then dip in resin.
I'd like more info on the buffing system from Tool Post, can't find it on their crappy site.
Do you put the pens up for sale? I'm in Auckland and would love to know.
Yona Curtis sure www.nzwoodturning.co.uk x
id love a lego pen 👍🏻
Hi Nick.. I sent an email with a request regarding bottle stoppers. Please reply when you have a moment. Cheers!
You should make the Gandalf staff off of Lord of the rings!
Those pen blanks look good. Did you make the Lutyens garden seat in the background at the beginning of the video? Cheers, David.
LOL, great vid.

Why do you have to put it in the pressure pot. Why can’t you let it air harden.
And....now my son wants to make a Lego pen...lol
hahaha Ehhhh you dont trust me! lol
You should make pen blanks using shavings from old projects! That would be really cool.
xXKASsNiPeSXx cool idea man
Why not try stacking the legos?
Faz uma mesa com pedras, madeira e epoxi
I'd love to see just a lego man and lego head pen blank..... make it creepy lol, that'd be cool

What a Nick teaser

I wish you'd done at least one with some more organization of colors instead of random.
Wish i could send you all my mistakes and see what you could do with them lol
I love your video they're amazing but i have just one complaining to do, can you change songs in them? Just don't always restart the same song, pause it , use more than one pretty please!
