Bandit mfs will see this monster of a man in the most conspicuous clothing that warns the most red of flags and say “Nah I’d win”
Well, in the canon they occasionally did, and occasionally not. Somewhere at thr very beginning, in the short stories, there is a case where he killed three guys (they started it with verbal remarks but still - and he didn't have yo kill them) in a tavern to get an audience with Foltest I think? Or his city official. In some other story when the bandits on the street noticed he was a witcher without his swords, they told him to use a more common method of suicide, and then ran away, very sensibly.

@@tymondabrowski12 tbf that was him trying to kill him self, he knew he'd run into people he want out of his way to do so and wanted to die after all in his mind the next day he would have to ever be killed by a mage or kill him and both ways would upset Yennefer. He wasn't trying to win that fight. Tho by the time of the end of the books when he'd not used his hurbs for a long time he was more of a man then a witcher so was a lot weaker.

The term 'mutant' makes so much more sense with this look
Geralt is a special case unlike another witchers, his skin and hair changed after trial of grasses... Maybe because his mother was a sorceress

@@MoraCat666in The vesemir focused animated film Geralt makes an apearance as a child. He looks small and frail compared to his peers, also bald and his eyes are yellow iirc. This is after they were put through the mutations though.

The only thing that really isn't lore accurate is glowing yellow eyes - they are described as catlike in the sense of having a verical slit of a pupil, bur the inly yime color is mentioned, they are referred to as "dark", which in original Polish simply means brown eyes.
I’ve just started to listen to the last wish and Geralt’s eyes do get described as glowing at one point but it might’ve been after he took a potion

When they mention White gull to Triss she says: You drink hallucinogenics? Is that why all your eyes glow in the night?
@@Mihayan1 Actually it's just says "After drinking a mixture of banewart, monk's blood and eyebright the face takes on the colour of chalk, and the pupils fill the entire iris". Do you know where you heard his eyes reflect the light? I've seen it on the Season of Storms illustrated cover and thought it looked really cool but I only remember Witcher eyes being described as "unusual"
Great stuff, especially how Geralt only carries the one sword he needs at the time and very rarely uses signs. As a ps4 player, I really wish they had hooded cloaks in the unmodded game.
I’m glad I’m not the only person who wishes there were hooded cloaks in the game. Geralt and Vesemir are both wearing them in the killing monsters trailer.
I remember at one time, the time when he saves the husband of the woman who adopted Ciri from the druids after the Cintra battle, he had one sword visible, but when preparing to fight a monster he took another one out.
Seriously well done. Geralt's fighting and appearance is perfectly lore-accurate, and your combat skills are awesome. This is amazing work.

Even if he was talking about the animations (which he wasn’t, obviously) they aren’t modded, they’re the same animations as in the base game. Maybe don’t try to call me out for being wrong when you can’t actually read what he’s saying huh?

Fantastic visuals, great combat, and satisfying gameplay. I would binge watch a bunch of videos like this, legit might be better than the Witcher show, although that isn’t saying much lol. I do wish the fight had been longer and more challenging, it was very cinematic just a bit brief

He is drawn with a headband like this in the book illustrations by Denis Gordeev. Check them out on google, they are really nice.
not including hoods was a massive L on CDPROJEKTRED’s part, actually looks like a proper monster for hire who is hated and feared by the common folk

yeah, according to the books wicthers can move so fast that they look blurred for a human vision. Thats pretty accurate indeed

On the other hand, I actually dislike how his voice in English dubbing makes him sound like a Batman. Batman is great, and his vibe is awesome, but it's a different vibe. Batman is menacing because of his brand, and he actively makes himself look like that. Geralt seems menacing to people because of prejudice and unusual appearance that he didn't choose (and a little bit because of his skills, though it's hard to unlink it from the prejudice). And a lot of other things. It's a bit hard to explain, would need a huge essay probably.

The cloak shouldve been in the game...the mod integrates it so well, and he wears it in trailers and cinematics. one of the very first mods i got.
Imagine a game or a mod like Stalker Gamma. Where you can make your own witcher, choose a school, you have the whole map to wonder, make quests, the world is dynamic, the war is going on etc. and realistic difficulty... Classic shut up and take my money.
Man I miss this game, it was so atmospheric. Still looks great too despite being almost 10 years old. Should replay it some time.

dude that was really cool! have u actually sped up the footage when geralt swirls the sword to be like more lore accurate? because I love that, I dont remember the "SWIRL" being that fast.
no the footage is not sped up it is from the mod called 'combat speed'
@@Scvythe nice! it makes is look very different. better, less style to it and more speed. which kinda is lore accurate, witchers can move so fast that they appear to "blink" into movement from what I remember.

Love this! Although I i love the Wild Hunt I thought they made Geralt look way too handsome. I wish he was more accurate like this, intimidating, objectively ugly but hes still hot AF 😅
Look at the scabbard, it is half open. Is this for realistic reasons so he could actually pull the sword from behind it's back i wonder?
this is due to the netflix scabbards mod, but that was the aim to achieve a more practical scabbard, thanks for watching
yeah, some youtube historians and fantasy enthusiast did some pretty good research on this and this is one of the viable designs for carrying swords on your back while still being able to draw them

As far as I remember in the books his eyes colour is not mentioned or I don't remember but his pupils only cat like when the sun is very bright and he can control his pupils as he wants (not a reflex like in regular people).
Mods always make games better.
So basically players know what players want and devs not.
Sad times.
Good stuff. The complexion is top notch, when i read the books (not to boast, but that was well before the Witcher became popular thanks to video games) he was already pale, and elixirs made him look "even worse". Also, he is a bit more lean, in the books there is a lot of remarks that Geralt is built more like an elf. The first Witcher game came pretty close to the book representation. Last thing missing, he does not speak polish hehe. Nothing wrong with english, but as a guy from Poland i simply cant go with Geralt speaking english although its nice sounding. Just a small detail and more me being biased here. When i played Cyberpunk i had to have english on, and when i was playing Metro i needed to have russian language on. Just for immersion. Anyway, good work.

In books he had silvery eyes, not gold. And they would have a normal shape, getting narrow only in a strong light. The way cat's eyes act.

In the books Geralt doesn't exactly look like this. The outfit and headband are right, but in the books he doesn't look "corpse-like" pale unless he drank potions, also he had dark brown eyes. In fact there are a few scenes where he successfully disguises himself as not a witcher, like when he pretended to be Ravix of Fourhorn as well as disguising himself as an elf after leaving Brokilon with Dandelion. In the books the only way people can tell he is witcher is if they notice his sword on his back, cat-like pupils, and his medallion.
Lore accurate would be if he speak Polish

Isn't his default ponytail hairstyle more lore accurate? I've read the books a long time ago so I can't quite recall but I think it was (and it was something a lot of people complained about in witcher 1 iirc)

This look explains why people call Geralt "mutant". But it also makes questionable women's obsession with him. I mean yeah, appearance is not the main thing, but when the man literally looks like a corpse...
If not for the appearance, then I guess it would be because of the personality or the martial prowess, which at that time is highly sought after; someone who can protect himself and others. If not these, then maybe fame? He is "the Witcher" after all in times where witchers are rare, which is boosted by dandelion marketing service.
This modded Witcher 3 totally give me strong Witcher 1 vibes (my favorite Witcher game)

combat looking great, everything is great lore wise, just geralt should have medalion inside jacket, although I am aware that it's this way to show he always has simple medalion not a friggin literal wolf head. Definitely need to try that mod list someday for myself.

Very well done, however I find first game's Geralt very accurate too in terms of looks, especially his gear. To me W1/Manticore armour matches books the most in design.
This looks cool, but vanilla Geralt fits the game better. Mainly because the NPCs generally don't react to your appearance by running into the hills, screaming :D

Lorewise people don't run away from Geralt. Witchers are pretty unique when it comes to appearance, which is why everyone knows when they see one.

Long cloak wearing Geralt is always how I pictured him when outside of Kaer Morhen when reading the books.

The problem with base game is that a lot of characters can tell that Geralt is a mutant by a glance without even knowing him... but in the base game, he's just looking like a handsome buff dude so that you assume that they just recognise Geralt from tales/his fame. But actually it's just his apperance, when you mod Geralt to look like ugly mutant it all makes sense, one does not need know him to tell he's mutant, like many NPCs do in the game.
Basically, lore accurate Geralt looks like Geralt from The Witcher 2. Even armor design is more or less similar.
Pirouettes sealed the deal. Not a fight in the books without half-pirouettes into some good 'ol vital vein splitting.

These yellow almost glowing eyes are absolutely terrifying. Geralt, with that coat, looks like an angel of death or a Grim Reaper.
As a fan of the books and games and watching your videos, this is EXACTLY how I wish to replay Witcher 3 again after so many playthroughs, it sucks to be a console player man lol

Got to agree a lore accurate Geralt works better. When the books happen to be written. You always had some good looking guy in armor. Saving the day and getting the girl. The books flip that on its head. The knights are normally either stupid or useless. While Geralt who isn't handsome at all. Is more noble. Despite " looking like a corpse". Followed by the amount of crap he has to put up daily. As people are afraid of him.

I love how fast and flowing his fighting style is in this mod. Geralt in the game was described as inhumanly fast with a fighting style that resembled dancing, cutting his enemies with incredible precision with the very tip of his sword. Using that and his swiftness to his advantage. In vanilla W3 Geralt really feels much to slow and clunky to control. Funny enough I think his fighting style was best represented visually in W1 and then every subsequent game downgraded it.
Yeah, I definitely appreciate CDPR taking creative liberties with his original design lol.

See how much people like lore accuracy? It’s almost as if when you take a character from a book, translate it into a video game form, with barely any changes, people like it a lot more.
I understand creative spins that developers like to take on remaking a character, but more often than not: people don’t care for it.
Everything's good, but I believe Geralt would fight ghouls and grave hag with a steel sword. Most monsters were fought this way.

The only thing, is that Geralt in the books have a dark eye color ( the color is not specified ) but for the rest, pretty cool.
