@@devon596 yeah the Bears' whole deal was autonomy and self reliance. Back when there was just one Witcher school, the early Griffins tried to enforce their knightly virtues on all Witchers, and the Bears railed against such "outdated traditions". Tensions rose till a series of fights broke out and the Bears left to form their own school based on the idea that Witchers shouldn't be asked to do more than kill monsters for coin, and not be forced to follow a specific philosophy. In the case of Ivo, that belief extended to their own fighting tactics. Ivo is said to be a perfect Bear Witcher despite not fighting like them, since it was his solitary attitude that made him a perfect example of the Bears.

I'm talking down to your dialogue choices being school specific. So much replayability with this I feel. Also opens up the potential for an MMO aspect or an online PVP.
School of the wolf for me, I value their traits. I think the school of the lynx would be based on a mix between the wolf/cat schools. Would be nice to see a school that values archery combat.
I think the reason archery is overlooked in most witcher schools is their weakness against tough monsters. Griffin witchers often use silver tipped darts and crossbow arrows tho.
Definitely the school of the Viper. I have been a fan of their school after the brothers from the Witcher 2. That game showed how deadly their school was and how fundamental it was to change the world, more so than even the school of the wolf.
They were just assasins like the cats. Just good for stealth if you ask me. Geralt kill two of them at the same time in combat. Letho was an exception though, he was a total beast and defeated Geralt, major accomplishment.
I'd want to go through both Griffin and Bear schools, i feel like that combo would basically create a more powerful (even if less agile) version of a Wolf school practitioner (I'm imagining a Witcher equivalent to Doctor Doom)
For me either the Cat or Viper, There combat styles seem to suit me most. Morals on the other hand is another story, cant imagen butchering an entire village for low pay lol
That reference was only for one Witcher mainly. The reference was made to Gaetan a side quest character in the Witcher 3. Gaetan is a cat Witcher who took a contract to kill a leshen, he completed it but the alderman only offered him 12 gold a very small sum of money for what he did. He objected and they said they had hidden more gold in a barn. When Gaetan got there though it was an ambush and they were going to try and kill him the alderman and most of the peasants. So Gaetan lost is and in a bid to survive started killing rapidly. Before he knew it he had slaughtered a good portion of the village. Anyways, it wasn’t because of the low pay, he slaughtered the village defending himself. Just like Geralt did in Blaviken.
@@narcisis4147 i wouldn't compare that situatian with the one geralt faced in blaviken. Geralt fought and killed bandits in an attempt to impede a carnage to take place, ironically and so bitterly, that was exactly what caused the carnage, since it apparently would not have taken place like he feared it would without his interference. Gaetan, at first, acted in means of self defense, and killed the 3 men that were actively trying to kill him, then however stepped out of the barn and began a killing spree. A lot tried to flee, but he still mowed them down, perhaps also because he feared that they would rat him out, since there is a bounty on all cat school witchers and the villagers most likely tried to hand him in from the moment, they realized he is from the cat school, since the edlerman of the village was particulary well off, wich is something you can find out rummaging the village, in this quest. I also let him live, and probably always will be, but the situations geralt and gaetan found themselves in are still vastly different from each other.
Thank you so much for this! The Bear school gets a bad wrap because people mistakenly believe they attack other Witchers. That is an in universe rumor about them, true, but its refuted by the Griffin School Grandmaster's journal, where he says that after they broke away from the main school, the Bears put away their animosity, and all witchers eventually saw each other as estranged brothers.
I think that I'm a fusion between bear and griffin, cause I'd like to use heavy weapons and armor, but i'd like use a lot of alchemy too. And maybe use firearms like the crane schools.
@@Max-nj9ks you are correct, the school of the Manticore was heavily based on alchemy, the Griffin were more along the lines of the mages of the witchers.
Whenever i play Witcher 3, i ALWAYS go with the School of the Bear Gear. You gotta give 'em credit, they got the best looking stuff, and i'm a huge fan of heavy armor, so i have a bias on the Bear School. However, the School of the Griffin also sounds fairly interesting. I like the chivalric values and the Battle Mage aesthetic they got going on, so it's a tie between those two.
Not even a competition. Griffin takes all, not because of the magic, but because with the learning of diplomacy they gained something almost no witchers have: respect. And they are located in the chillest, always netural northen kingdom, (perfect fit for the witcher philosophy) basicly the Swiss of the witcher world.
Manticore is what I ended up being in the Monster Slayer app (gone too soon) but School of the Griffin makes most sense for me since I always do as much preparation before a job
I honestly see myself in the school of the cat.. not bc im mentally a bad type of way, but bc i grew up moving every year, often in the country outside of towns/cities, and had a bad habit of stealing as a child, even teaching my friends in town how best to work as a group to distract employees or use our bodies huddled together as we talked to hide us stealing from cameras.. soo, although im not that way as an adult now, i relate the most the the school of the cat bc it reminds me of how i grew up and how they fight honestly would best work for my physique.
I think it’d be cool to see Ciri creating the school of the Lynx without the use of mutagens…breaking away from harsh traditions while still keeping the core elements of witchers intact.
It could be kinda cool to see a new order of Witchers, greater in number but no longer superpowered, using technology and tactics to face the monsters spewed forth by another conjunction of the spheres
Considering the book that makes witchers out to be monsters is written by a mage, i think it's entirely probable that the griffin school could have been another reason to provoke the killing of witchers. Mages created witchers, and now a witcher is invited into kingly courts. Considering how vain and arrogant mages can be, i wouldn't be surprised at all if some mages got pushed out of the limelight, and began to retaliate against witchers. There certainly isn't a shortage of mages that look down on them.
The Griffins also had a reputation as dragon hunters according to the standalone Gwent game, seeing it as a knightly duty. Many mages hate the hunting of dragons since they're sentient, and mostly innocent, just wanting to be left alone.

I'm somewhere between School of the Griffin and the School of the Bear. I would want to have a high understanding of magic as well as be very resilient and value strength
School of the Viper is perfect for me to be cunning, stealthy, hidden, and precise against dangerous monsters, humans, elves, and other threatening forms of life.

I lean toward Wolf or Viper. I like the emphasis on stealth from the Viper But I've always considered myself more of a Jack of All Trades. Which is why I would probably prefer the school of the Wolf. It leaves room for you to develop your own style. For instance, Vesimir was known to be the fencing instructor and it shows by him still critquing Geralts technique in W3. Which you would presume leans toward the Viper's precision. Eskel is known to have extreme magical power, felt by Triss in Blood of the Elves. Which you would think is more school of the Griffin.

- Wolf: Scouts
- Cat : rouges
- Griffin: Nerds
- Bear : Brutes
- Viper : Assassins
- Manticore : Sandbois
- Crane : Pirates
- Lynx : ???
Hunters perhaps
- Snail : ???
Since when was crane a thing
Lynx are w0ke
Useless
If I could get a teaching from one school I would probably go for Griffin or Wolf, but if it was possible to get teachings from more Schools, I would choose Wolf as a basis, Griffin as an advanced and Viper to cover the less strong areas of stealth.
I'm with you other than viper. I'd switch it up with cat.
like you could transfer schools 😭
@@Docmain3 sure, let's start a new school. I recomend it being named the schoolf Vampire. They are strong generalists, very good at stealth and prominent in mystical arts.
@@jurekovacic1739school of the bats?
@@jam2394 Why bat? Isn't Vampire allowed?
i imagine that the school of the lynx will be one where both male and female witchers can be in considering that you will probably make your own character
mine will be a black chinese jewish non binary trans vegan woman
@@antonioespinoza2551OMG! OMG! OMG! Sameeee💅💅🤣
@@antonioespinoza2551 I CAN'T BREED
That would be a good addition. It'll be interesting to see if we're back as Geralt or creating our own characters
@@LoreTours It would be more interesting Seeing Geralt taking Up Vesemirs Mantel as the Grandmaster of The Wolf School and teaching us how to Be Witchers 🔥
I think my play style in the Witcher 3 fits the school of the griffin most, I use signs very often (especially quen). Plus their drip goes so hard.
If you use quen often, the Bears might be more your speed. They pushed the quen sign beyond even the Griffin's capabilities, and are willing to train their students in the styles of other schools, like with Ivo of Belhaven, since they favor autonomy above all else.
@donovanboyle5949 that would be the case, but I also prefer light attacks and being nimble most of the time. I use quen mostly to heal myself and to block attacks that are too difficult to dodge.
@@devon596 Then yeah, Bears definitely. Like I said, Witchers like Ivo of Belhaven, despite coming from the bear school, wanted to be trained to fight like a Viper or Cat Witcher, and the Bears allowed that.
@donovanboyle5949 ohhhh, well then yeah, a bear with cat style combat would be ideal.
Wolf for me, Oh And Ursine. Strong sense of Morality, versitility, Strength and Durability 🔥
Nice, good combo!
Lifting weights and alone time, hmm! Can't describe myself better than these two words lol! Bear/Ursine it is! Also for me the Ursine armour felt the coolest in looks and perks.
Ursine armour definitely looked the most badass
I like the Wolf school the most but I think the Bear school has the best looking gear.
I’m team Griffin. Because of the Griffin school medallion looks amazing 🤩
I did the test of the website, and it was pretty close between the cat, wolf, and manticore, but the cat was the most favoured.
What I really wanted for the next Witcher game was an RPG style where you choose your school and you build your own witcher (customized and all) in the parameters of the chosen school.
An archery focused school would be sick. What Medallion would you think would fit a school like that, eh? Maybe a school of the Elk, or Owl?
@@goofistmcnutty3280
Eagle? eagle eyes? any animal with good vision can work tho
If i remember correctly Letho who was Kingslayer in Witcher 2 Assassin of Kings is part of school of viper who are very knowledgeable about Wild Hunt.
Griffin! I just adore magic.
I’d say I’m more than happy to be with the wolves or bears. They’d suit my way of thought.
Definitely the school of the Viper. I have been a fan of their school after the brothers from the Witcher 2. That game showed how deadly their school was and how fundamental it was to change the world, more so than even the school of the wolf.
Yeah, Viper realized what Wolf overlooked: Politics & Religion are monsters, or at least too often turn into monstrosity.
They were just assasins like the cats. Just good for stealth if you ask me. Geralt kill two of them at the same time in combat. Letho was an exception though, he was a total beast and defeated Geralt, major accomplishment.
I'd want to go through both Griffin and Bear schools, i feel like that combo would basically create a more powerful (even if less agile) version of a Wolf school practitioner
(I'm imagining a Witcher equivalent to Doctor Doom)
Definitely school of the bear the best for me, I'm always fascinated by tank type warriors with heavy swords.
They also had brains! They pushed the quen defensive spell far beyond any other school!
"If you value raw physical strength, lifting weights and alone time, the School of the Bear is for you."
*Literally. Me.*
I'd go with School of the Bear. I like the idea of prioritizing defense and strength. I also just use Quen a lot in W3.
I think that I'm a fusion between bear and griffin, cause I'd like to use heavy weapons and armor, but i'd like use a lot of alchemy too. And maybe use firearms like the crane schools.
I'm not sure but i think the school of the manticore use a lot of alchemy
@@Max-nj9ks you are correct, the school of the Manticore was heavily based on alchemy, the Griffin were more along the lines of the mages of the witchers.
This feels like a buzzfeed quiz, but instead of harry potter houses it's the Witcher.
I'd probably start at the school of the wolf, but then spend some time training at the griffin, cat, and bear schools.
Bear is mine, in every RPG game i love being powerhouse, the tank. I am essentially Mark IV Tank in German Trenches of Somme
School of Manticore just sounds so cool
After about....3000 hours on The Witcher 3-ALWAYS School of the BEAR!
I would pick manticore. As I honestly love the look of the armor. As well as they use shields and live in a very warm climate .
Gotta go with School of the cat, ever since witcher 3 I admired them.
Griffin made death March a absolute breeze. Witcher turned Jedi master
Definitely school of the manticore for me. I am big on potion builds and crits and they specialize in that.
I hesitate between the bear school and the griffin school those two are very cool
I imagine a student of the Griffin school who passed the trial by reciting the book perfectly with a griffin egg balanced upon their head.
Griffin school is definitely my kind of witcher school as someone who spends his time with a book or sword in my hand, griffin school sounds fun
I’d be in Manticore tbh, loved the armour in the game too
I really hope they add more options for weapons in the new Witcher game, I’d love to use a dancing fighting style for polearms.
Many mages hate the hunting of dragons since they're sentient, and mostly innocent, just wanting to be left alone.
ye definitely would pick the cat school cuz having speed agility and stealth and being feared by many sound pretty cool
I knew there was a reason I liked the griffin school armor best. That school suits me to a tee.
I find myself drawn to the Bear school, mostly because I like the idea of using heavy armor and weapons
A popular choice
I would love to believe that I’d be a Griffin, but truthfully, I think I’d be wolf.
Kind of like the school of the cat hope you can play as someone from that clan in the Witcher 4
It seems that we'll play as a witcher from the school of the lynx.
I’d love to be in the viper or the griffin as much as I value cunning, speed, stealth, intelligence and aristocratic etiquette butttt at the end the one that got a greater focus on magic I’ll sure take that
We need a game set in the witcher where you can choose what race you are or what witcher school youre from and customize how you look for your own witcher
Such premise basically "The Witcher: Old World" (also a tabletop game)
Griffin school sounds like the most sane school, other schools are crazy
Griffin always seemed like the best choice to me, but I'd probably be recruited for Bear. The big guys always get typecast as the brute.
I think the school of the wolf or griffin would be the best for me. I value adaptability, balance, intelligence, and morals! I also really like the stealthiness of the school of the cat but I am not a fan of just merciless murders and killings.
"Which Witcher School Are You?" My own...
What's the different from School of Cat and Viper? They seemed close enough to me.
For the friends wolf.
But i like birds and magic so grippin is my other choice
I'm somewhere between School of the Griffin and the School of the Bear.
I would want to have a high understanding of magic as well as be very resilient and value strength
The bears did have very good magic knowledge. They pushed the quen spell well beyond any other school.
Bear
Understandable, I'm fond of the Bear School too
School of the Viper is perfect for me to be cunning, stealthy, hidden, and precise against dangerous monsters, humans, elves, and other threatening forms of life.
Dont forget about king
Idk its a tough one i kinda enjoy them all
Honestly I like the School of the Wolf the most as it has characteristics of each school. With that said, trying to avoid being called names for choosing the safest option, I choose the school of the Viper
It's griffin school for me. Uphold chivalrous justice & practically a mystic knight. magic for witcher are the best tools, especially if you are master of quen sign hehe
Well, the Bears were more the master of the quen, pushing it beyond what even the Griffins could do. Also, those knightly virtues required the Griffins to hunt dragons, who are sentient, mostly innocent, and just want to be left alone. In the Gwent standalone game whenever you play a Griffin Witcher they'll shout "To slay dragons is our knightly duty!"
@@donovanboyle5949 bear armors are all about adrenaline points & heavy strikes though. Griffin armors are all about sign intensity aka magic signs usage. It's literally armors for battle mage build & with highest elemental resist stats. Idk where do you get such lore of Griffin Witcher must hunt dragon to be "knightly," especially when griffin school is one of the school that uphold the OG discipline & principal of witcher order. The wiki literally said Griffin witchers are some of the most strict to uphold neutrality & taking many consideration of killing dragons, unlike witchers from other schools that had nothing against killing dragons.
the wiki lore basically saying it's against what you claimed bruh...
Also, what specific gwent witcher card that you claimed to have such shouting? All I remember griffin witcher cards shouts "for honor!" or study the magic stuffs... (played it long time ago)
@@crozraven For some reason it kept giving my last comment an error, so here we go again, if it happens twice sorry to spam. The Griffin Witcher Mentor will sometimes shout "To slay Dragons! Tis our Knightly duty" when played". Some websites have lists of the voicelines. Also George of Kagen. Also the Bears were rather adaptable. Since they believed in autonomy, they sometimes trained students in other fighting styles if they requested, like Ivo of Belhaven fighting like a Cat Witcher.
Well as a persian die hard fan of witcher I would definitely choose manticore 😎
I lean toward Wolf or Viper.
I like the emphasis on stealth from the Viper
But I've always considered myself more of a Jack of All Trades.
The guy who slaughtered the whole village did so not because he wasn't paid, but because who was stabbed in the back by pitchfork))
I find myself always drawn to the most vanilla factions/groups in the games I play. For example, in Gwent I always just use the Northern Kingdoms, and for the Witcher schools, the School of the Wolf has always been my favorite.
However, if my skin color is anything to go by, I’d probably fit right in with the Manticore School boys
The Bear. Their armor is fucking awesome.
i feel like school of the wolf is the obvious choice and would probably be my first pick but school of the gryphon would also be really cool
School of the Bear for me. But I’d feel comfortable in the Wolf or Griffin schools as well
A mix between bear, wolf and cat or viper just for the stealth in the fighting style. And probably be in the wolf or bear schools.
If I had the choice it would definitely be School of the Griffin.
Can't wait for Kaer Morhen Legacy!
I would definitely like to be griffin. I also like their armor choice the most, as it’s usually full, or almost full plate, thus the most realistic armor
Griffin school for sure
For me... school of the bear all the way
I'll be the first ghoul you slaughter at the start of the game
How bout that!!
My very first play through I decided I was the School of the Griffin!!
It makes sense because I literally read and studied EVERYTHING POSSIBLE in the game!! Plus I really like my Green Griffin Armor that made me come up with the Slogan:
“Zelda Who?!?!”
-WITCHER
The school of the griffin for me, i feel it fits me more as person than the others
Could mention cats took half elves as students and its likely they tried (and perchaps succided) making female witchers.
We need a prequel set in the heyday of the Witcher’s when the continent was full of monsters
