    Larko does not disappoint! Explains things so the average viewer understands, but also gives enough technical information so a diehard follower is satisfied.

    Unfortunately the parity is still in Camaro's favour. They are so much faster in a straight line and coming out of corners. Supercars need to get this sorted.

      They wont especially if triple eight were the ones helping out with gen 3 builds

    It STILL boggles my mind that some people in SuperCars wanted to get rid of Larko. Unfathomable.

    SVG said after qualifying at Bathurst that he did not have to work as hard to get to sub 2.08 laps than the Mustang drivers. He said that on the limit, the Camaro was faster across the top of the mountain and he noticed that the Mustangs were very twitchy. That may have been rectified by the new rear wing approved for the Mustang but was not permitted for Bathurst. Why not? He also said that the Camaro is 0.2 sec a lap faster overall. That does not sound like much, but it transaltes to 32 seconds over 160 laps. And thats why the Ford teams were spewing, and none louder than DJR Team Penske.
    Of course the solution to the problem, now that the Chev 5.7lt motor is being used, would be for the Supercars engines to be swapped for the Nascar road course engines used in the USA. There is no difference between the Chev and Ford variants. It wuld be interesting to have put a Next Gen Nascar road course car around Bathurst to see what the times might be like. SVG says it would be almost the same with the same diff ratio, with the Nascar fractionally faster up the mountain because they had a bit more power than the local 5.7. There will be a lot more on this in coming months and Supercars will have to address it or Ford teams will walk away, or swap to Camaros.

    We need a segment where Larko does "bore" us with the details.

    He does a good job.........However there was no mention of the aero package that is the current issue and the Chev teams are the ones blocking that..

  • @fernandoarroyo3889
    @fernandoarroyo3889 ปีที่แล้ว

    That's great that they're equal in a straight line, but what about around corners. Last time I checked these were race cars, not drag cars. I bet if you looked at the traces around corners than you would definitely see a difference. Now I don't know who this guy is really, I'm from the states, but he says he doesn't want to sound like a salesman but he kinda does.

    This is what happens when you corporatise a sport like Motorsport. You end up controlling a bunch of men…..

  • @AndrewEG
    @AndrewEG ปีที่แล้ว

    Yeh of course the throttle is coming back to 75percent with 3 percent reduction in pedal. 75 percent throttle angle is probably where the manifold pressure starts to decrease. As in the throttle angle where you start to control the air flow at that given engine speed..

    The big question is why wasn’t the mustang throttle mapping issue not picked up before Newcastle 🤔

    • @zenastheracer
      @zenastheracer ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably due to the nature of Newcastle being a street circuit. Not much if not any corner there is a slight lift. (which is where the problem is occurring)

    • @nickycrea6075
      @nickycrea6075 ปีที่แล้ว

      partly cause they had limited parts and didn't go that hard during testing. partly they where in a rush to get these ready for Newcastle. you're right! should have been picked up.
      would not have changed the results at Newcastle, considering its a street circuit. I KNOW Albert park is a street circuit too but its more of an open flowing racetrack where the issue has more of an impact and therefore detected.
      Side note: F the GP round! 10 lap races with mandatory pitstops is a joke. why the F make it a points round? ridiculous!

    Larko, you have a dream job!!! You should get high from her. You're getting high, aren't you? :)
    Racing analytics in Super Cars is just at the "cosmic level"!!!
    Tell me, where else do reporters during the race "walk so freely" in the pit lane and boxes ...?
    Please work on the calendar, 3-4 weeks break is just hell (((. Return Phillip Island, Queensland, Winton (yes, the last track is "not very", but... for quantity and variety will go).
    And cancel the Regulations on the mandatory number of pit stops on enduro.

    NASCAR could learn so much from the Aussie V8 series. Especially when it comes to officiating, The NASCAR series comes off as such amateurs considering they (NASCAR) have been around a lot longer.

    Larkin should be calling the races.

  • @knight2425
    @knight2425 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have two issues with this and firstly these cars have been under development for over a couple of years and after a few races the powers to be are still making adjustments between the two which is not acceptable, secondly Larko is wrong when he calls it passion as it’s gone past that and is just petty whinging now. Nearly every race we hear that word “parity” come up time and time again and it is taking away from the sport. Just put one brand out there running identical setups and then have your parity otherwise put out some rules and let the teams build their cars and race

    • @gomezgomezian3236
      @gomezgomezian3236 ปีที่แล้ว

      The word 'parity' will be shouted from the rooftops ... any time 'your car' is not winning. That is the reality.
      As he said, the Ford teams were all screaming 'parity' about the AU's ... until Ambrose came along and drove them how they needed to be driven.

      The ba falcon is when every thing evened up
      The au won something like 4 races to holden 47.

    I'll never forget that the LNP destroyed the vehicle manufacturing industry in Australia. Without Falcons and Commodores, V8s just aren't the same.
