  • This month, we discuss four topics:
    1) My Las Vegas family reunion (no family photos, I discuss The Sphere and renting a top-of-the-line Lincoln Continental - comparing it with my EQS)
    2) The new software update that improved my air suspension (impressed me that software updates can improve the quality of the car's suspension)
    3) My Electrify America experience this month (first since August) - got 210kW charging rate on a car with a 200kW max rate!
    4) I demonstrate the EQS going from 0-60 in 4.31 seconds
(I synced the video of the drive with my iPhone stopwatch to do this. It is a good estimation, but both the car and the iPhone lack pinpoint precision. The car jumped from 56-60mph and the stopwatch went from 4.20 to 4.25 to 4.31 seconds. So, the car could have actually been just a tad faster than 4.31... but I think 4.31 is a good representation)

When planning to DC fast charge, make sure you put charger location in GPS so the EQ power conditions your batteries. Your EQ tab shows how much charging power your battery can accept as it conditions the cells. I was impressed to see it hold 100kW charging a 80 % SoC.

Well said! I learned that through trial and error.

It's really tough to stop saying, "Hit the gas," isn't it? 😄

I thought the max was 207 kW. Interesting that you hit 210!

I thought it was 200kW, so I was even more surprised

May i ask why an eqs and not a s-class? (Beside cost on gas)

The technology in the hyperscreen, the quieter ride, amazing acceleration and the hatchback were also major factors for me.

I am wondering about the maintenance expenses. Can you elaborate on that?

So far, I have not paid anything for maintenance (except for replacing a tire after hitting a large pothole, but I don't count that). The first service is at 20,000 miles, but that service is listed as covered on the original window sticker. I may need to replace the tires then, which I expect to cost around $2,000. I will definitely discuss any service expenses as they occur.

Curious what you find out. I have a bid from discount tire for tires and may go with them instead of Mercedes.@@EQS-Owner

we would appreciate it if you could let us know the service and parts that were conducted for the mileage of 20,000 miles during maintenance ?

Other than fixing a malfunctioning sensor, replacing a flat tire and getting software updates, I have yet to need servicing.

I paid around $500 to replace my tire
