    Found your channel a couple of weeks ago, and I've really been loving how relaxed, unscripted and varied your videos are.
    Some reviewers out there like to go over every single detail - in great detail - whereas you just let the figures speak for themselves, really.
    I like your simple setup, the lighting is soothing and subtle yet effective, and you yourself are good company.
    And speaking of you, it's thanks to these videos of yours, that I've finally dared go into some customising. So, thank you, Luke :)

    Thank you for this. For years, I've said I've wanted to do this on figures that are too clean, especially troopers and also a lot of the accessories, like guns. Yours was definitely the easiest to follow.

    Luke my man, this helped a lot. Only thing I've done is Marvel THE THING to bring out the rocks. But this video has helped a lot with doing normal videos. I bought Citadel Shades NULN OIL and it's a perfect mix so it's not heavy or too watery. Definitely gonna use your techniques on some figures.

    Hello Luke another informative video of customizing figures. A great tip about using a metallic sharpy never heard of that one. Your Saw figure looks great even with a little thin black paint for shading and brings out the details. A very helpful video for customizers. Thanks again for taking the time to show us how to do this. Take care, Tom

    Very nice work!
    It amazing how much the sculpt "pops" with the dry-brushing and black wash.
    Any suggesting for weathering "leather" on figures, black and brown esp?

    • @LandspeederLuke
      @LandspeederLuke  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use the same technique with a black wash, a little bit of a yellow wash over top also helps it look like brown leather

    Awesome tutorial! One question though, do you have to use like Mr. Super clear to seal the wash and the tiny details you add?

  • @cboyd1976
    @cboyd1976 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great video. Did you apply your Mr. Super Clear Matt before doing your wash and painting?

  • @HashiyoHashi
    @HashiyoHashi 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Do you wash/scrub your figures before putting paint on it and do you find that you have to put a finish/varnish on it after to keep the paint from coming off?

    • @LandspeederLuke
      @LandspeederLuke  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Nope you can do a matte spray after

    • @blaisebear6850
      @blaisebear6850 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      If you’re planning on doing heavier paint layers as opposed to just light weathering I would def wash the figure first with hot water water and dish soap. Out of the box they often have a factory mold release that makes it difficult for paint to adhere.

  • @carlosacin5458
    @carlosacin5458 ปีที่แล้ว

    I was wondering if you applied the matte spray at the beginning of the process or at the end, although in the video you don't say anything about it, but I detect that it is applied to at least in Saw's face. And I was also wondering if you apply the matte spray on the troopers armor as well, so it's not so shiny.
    I love your collection and your work.
    Thank you very much and greetings!

    • @LandspeederLuke
      @LandspeederLuke  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did it on his face before and then the entire body after (if I remember correctly). For NedB I did it before so the wash would stick better.

    • @carlosacin5458
      @carlosacin5458 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you so much,@@LandspeederLuke! Both figures (Saw and NedB) ended far way better than they are straight out of the box. And, what about the troopers? Do you also apply the matte spray over their shiny armor?
      Congrats again for your great work!
