    Wow... Pretty amazing for something so simple and inexpensive. NED-B literally went from being a Tonka toy to well used/weathered Star Wars droid. Love it!!! Great video, LL! 👍👍

      The robot characters are always easier imo.just a dark wash makes the world of difference.

    Hi mate. Two other techniques I think you should try. Use graphite to add very realistic metal effects, simply sharpen a pencil onto plate and then apply the graphite to the model using your finger. Number two. Tear off a small piece of household sponge, dab onto the silver paint or any other colur you want to use to show chipping. then dab sponge onto paper towel until you start to see the effect you're looking for then apply to the figure or part. It gives a nice random effect and is much more controlable than applying with a brush...oddly.

    More tutorial videos like this please! I have just recently ventured into the world of figure customizing and not knowing where to start sometimes along with the added pressure of possibly ruining a figure can be a little overwhelming. But you made this so easy to understand. I can’t wait to try this out on some of my own figures now. Thank you!

      No issues with articulation here. I think if you sprayed it on a figure with really delicate joints, it might lock them up just enough to bend the peg if you’re not careful.

      I’ve found for washes on droids and such it makes the wash sit better.

    how important is the matte spray, I want to weather my Delta squad and I don't think they look too shiny out of the box, does spraying them afterwards help protect the weathering or is it just for the aesthetic?

    do you need to put clear coat on it again just before the silver drybrushing ? or can i just drybrushing immediately after the third coat of the black paint without any clear coat inbetween ?

    is the matte spray harmful to cloth goods. I wouldn't want to ruin my clone wars Anakin or Darth Revan.

    I really appreciate videos like this. It can be hard to know how to start customizing figures. This process seems pretty easy but it makes a huge difference.

      I started by just doing the dark washes.these alone make a world of difference as it brings out all the detail in the sculpt.then i tried dry brushing with silver for that metallic look (this is the real challenge as its so easy to overdo it) acrylic paint is easy enough to wash off with warm water so you can easily star again and just through a bit of trial and error you will eventually see great results.

      I found that Krylon Matte spray looks crappy after about a year

      I’ve used it for a couple years and so far no issue, just make sure you shake the can well and keep it upright while you spray

    Is it meant to feel super sticky after... I couldn't get hold of Mr clean in the UK so I used an alternative spray

    You should try using a panel line accent color. I have brown and black and it makes such a huge difference its unreal. I highly recommend you invest in some and try it out and post a video. I got Tamiyas version. Its not expensive. Also citadel color shade nuln oil makes a difference too. Just please post more videos like this.

      @@LandspeederLuke it works best on vehicles or figures that have a lot of lines/panels. Its like a magnet how it finds the lines and fills them in. You should definitely give it shot.
