We had neighbors who abandoned their cat. We adopted him, and he adopted us. There's NO GOOD REASON TO EVER ABANDON ANY ANIMAL!! We are the only source of love they know!! Be a good human and take care of those entrusted to your care. Thank you for taking care of this sweet soul! Tuxedos are amazing cats! I have 1 too ❤

Same here. These people did not take care of Benji. So we took him to the vet and got him all fixed up, and he is so happy now.

I wish. There are shelters. There is Craigslist. It barely takes any effort to keep an animal safe & find it a new home. These people are garbage and don't deserve that lovely cat. They DO deserve a warm spot by Satan's throne.

Yeah, either sell them, give them to someone you trust or leave them to a shelter so they can be adopted. It really messes up with their minds when you just leave them where you used to live, like with poor Rolo here. Good thing that someone cared for him and eventually became his new family.

And let's face X here leaving rolo with the local animal shelter is equivalent to killing him nobody's going to adopt a cat that old. I know that sounds terrible but it's true You hear about it but it's really rare.

What then take him to the vet to be euthanized? What if they just didn't have the heart to do it.
As much as I don't like the person for abandoning him I'm also empathetic that maybe they figured he would be better off on his own and have a fighting chance.

We also had a neighbor who left their cat when they moved. We adopted her and she bonded with us. She was a wonderful pet for 18 years.
I have major respect for these people. Animals aren’t disposable, and deserve love. I’m so happy this sweetie ended up with such good people in the end.
If you adopt a cat or dog you are saying you will be responsible for them and love them until the end. People depose of pets like they are paper, They don't seem to care these animals have feelings and are living and breathing. Dumping them or abandoning them is just wrong. Though I have to say that if some abusive owner did not dump their little dog on the street I would not have the heart of my life for the last 10 years in my little dog, Charlie. And while he was left traumatized we worked through it and he is so loving and such a joy

I want a puppy so badly but cannot afford one and to see someone abandon one just breaks my heart. I have been scammed for $3500 just trying to get a shih tzu puppy, but that was my fault because i wouldn’t listen to anyone who told me that i was being scammed
Many rescues are breed specific. You can find a rescue without keeping a breeder in business. Dogs are priceless!

When the neighbors left theirs. My son who was 8 came and told me. He said mommy can we please give George a home he is a good cat. Of course we brought him home. He was old and sweet.

I will never understand how some can dump or leave their pet behind to fend for themselves.
A year ago I rescued a cat after his owner dumped him in the bush for 6 months. We've had him for over a year now and he's part of our family. We named him Mister cause he's a big cat ,but so respectful to our other furbabies. Funny enough he does look like Rollo!
"He was waiting for his owners to come home...looking b&f. You could tell that he was so broken". Absolutely heartless & 💔ing to drive away without providing for his care. As if he'd be ok on his own! So happy that the neighbor stepped in for Rollo & you did the same for Mister! You're both officially animal rescuers now❣TY so much! 🤗🤗
I also had a big tuxedo who I called Mister, also Mooshy. He was such a character!
So sad. An animal doesn't understand that they've been abandoned. They don't know how to fend for themselves to eat and drink or find safe shelter. Thank goodness for alert and caring neighbors who adopt and rescued these abandoned pets.

At the beginning of the pandemic my cat appeared out of nowhere in our block. She was so scared of everything and everyone and would hide on a broken down porch of a nearby abandoned house. We started giving her food and we quickly gained her trust and it didn’t take long till we took her in. The first time we took her to the vet we found out she was already spayed and just needed shots. I can’t believe someone could have such a lack of heart to leave such a lovable beautiful being. She’s so attached to us to the point that she falls asleep with us like a baby. We love her immensely.
I just love what Maria did and the idea of giving him his own room where he could come and go as well as medical treatment. That's my idea of animal rescue. Losing that family was probably the best things that could have happened for Rolo.
Bless you for saving and adopting this cat. You can tell he loves you so much. Plus he looks so much better, and happier. You have way more love for Rolo, than his original owners. May they see this, and be ashamed for what they did.
Any person doing that to their so called pet, that already tells me all I need to know about that person. Action speaks louder than words. Bless this woman's heart for taking in that cat. He just seems so much happier. Love truly heals, and it is always seen in rescue animals. Love is the most important medicine, and then the rest follows
@@I-live-and-learn I know enoughto know this woman's actions weren't that of a heartbroken pet owner. No tears, no kneeling down and holding the cat for one last time. Like I said, action speaks louder than words and the smallest details showed me that this woman did not really worry about the cat because if she truly loved that cat like animal lovers do, she would have been sobbing. I know sometimes people are forced to part ways with their beloved fur children for whatever reason and usually you can just see in their body language that they are completely broken by the separation. This lady DID NOT look broken at all, her body language already says all there is to say about her heart
@@lynettenel8369 Nobody ever sees me sob. Ever. When my mother had passed away, someone at school asked me whether I didn't mind at all, then, that my mother had died. I was 14. I probably could have slapped her; Mariette was her name. I thought "how can you ask a stupid question like that". I said nothing. People often have no way of knowing what goes on in someone's life behind the scenes.
I was the one in our family who always had to hold things together, you see. My feelings always had to be stowed.

I never wished to actually someone track those "people" and shame them publicly for this... I am FAR from what I believe to be a "good person" but break the trust of loyalty a loving bonded cat is the lowest act of betrayal needs to be punished. This one just can't go like that. And THANK for that loving couple for giving something MUCH better and a beautiful life of love and joy for this little one. When his time come, he will go happy and well lived at the end.

What the neighbors did to the cat is absolutely shameful. But thank God the woman came to his rescue. I consider the woman a great wonderful hero.
Maria & her partner are clearly such lovely, compassionate people. Rolo is so lucky they were there to rescue him from his abandonment. He's a very special cat & his heart must've been so broken by his previous owners. What a terrible thing to do to an animal who trusts you. So glad Maria was there.
I'm a cat fosterer in the UK and I can't understand people that are cruel to any animal. One of 'my' cats was thrown from a second storey window because she didn't get along with the new puppy. When she came to me, after months of being alone, she was scared, tired and hungry. She hid under my bed and would not come out at all. I even had to feed her under there. But with time and a whole lot of love she has turned into one of the best cats I've ever had 😻❤😺
The people who did that are monsters and someone needs to rescue the puppy from them.

This is fully agree with!! I hate that he had to be so dejected, scared, depressed, skinny, and sick...but he found a 1000x more loving and healthy home in his rescuers.

Someone in our neighborhood also abandoned their cat (about a year old). She "lives" on my covered porch now in a warm kitty house and seems happy and healthy.

twice i had to give up a cat, because I had to change country, it broke my heart both times, but in both cases I found neighbours that we're wonderful and agreed to take care of them. i honestly don't understand how people can just abandon them, they must be terrible people.

My neighbor left 4 cats when they moved and its been around 9 years ago now.Ive built and insulated houses for them and Ive been caring for them ever since. One still goes to sit on the wall or roof top where she use to live during the day.
Those people are deplorable. That is just heartbreaking and awful. There are so many options other than abandonment. Ugh.

Thank you for your persistence in getting Rolo to trust you and for getting him medical care; then reconfiguring your home to give him a room of his own. That's truly admirable. I dread to think of what his future might have been had you not lived across the road.
pets are forever not temporary . pets can love you unconditionally forever. In memory of all my rescue cats that are in heaven. Thank you young lady for rescuing and saving him. 2 years is a long time. Pets are here for a reason.

This was a wonderful rescue and it's actually very good that those things abandoned him because he is far too good for them. Those things didn't even have the decency to drop him off at a shelter! Rolo is living a much better life now and that is what counts.
