My neighbors across the street left on an extended vacation and didn't make any arrangements for their cat. He was left outside to fend for himself. He was already buddies with our male cat so we left extra food for him along with our cat's food. We gave him a new name. When the neighbors returned he didn't go back to their house. He was our cat by then.
It hurts to know he was trying so hard to find a home, so desperate to be inside and be with people but was denied all those 4 years. Im glad he got rescued, but you could see how scared and depressed he was prior to that.
@@blacksesamecandies My indoor cat likes to take 2 steps outside to look around and one day the wind blew and slightly closed the door not shut but mostly and she almost got herself stuck under the door trying to get into that little crevice. Aside from that I'm from the area but thankfully not San Bernardino, and there's so much gang violence out there (gunshots) every night I have people tell me and you be hearing of kids catching strays or getting murdered all the time so I can't imagine the poor thing having to deal with the 4th of July and than the occasional shootout. I even had what seemed like an 15 year old boy pull a gun on me actually. There's also from what I hear some virus going around san Bernardino and cats are dying randomly for no reason everywhere.
Years back, I moved into a house and noticed an old black cat always hanging around it. I learned from my neighbors that the cat's previous owner abandoned him when he/she moved away. As an older cat, the stray would have had a hard time competing for food with the younger ones but avoided starving because my neighbors were kind enough to keep feeding him until I moved in. The cat wouldn't let anyone else adopt him but stayed inside and around the empty house by going through a small pet door. No doubt he was waiting for an owner who would never return. It was so heartbreaking to see, so I immediately adopted the cat and named him Puma. He was the sweetest cuddlebug ever and brought me a lot of joy. Sadly, he only lived about a year or so longer before passing away from age and illness. It's been 14 years since I lost Puma, and I still miss him so much...
My friend's neighbors moved away but when they couldn't take the cats with them with, they didn't abandoned them. They asked my friend's family to take them in and they did. A sweet momma cat and her son. I can't believe anyone left this sweet boy alone.

Why are some people so terrible? I took in a poor kitty who was left behind when his arse clown people moved. It took me months of feeding him, before he’d trust me. Once he did, I was able to get him in a carrier and take him in to get fixed. Then he joined our household. He was the best cat ever. He adored us. Take in a stray, you won’t regret it. 🐾❤️🐾❤️🐾
Both my kitties are strays; the first one we were just feeding when he would come to the door, not knowing who’s he was and eventually, I put a collar on him with my phone number to see if anybody would call and say that it’s their cat after a couple years, he became ours. Our second stray was clearly a drop off. Lots of people drop them off in our neighborhood, but they often don’t last long with the ferals and this was having a tough time as well and getting beat up. He came running to the back door wanting to be let in. We took him to the vet and got him fixed. he is the sweetest and most docile cat and luckily gets along with my more temperamental one 😅
I have a cat that's at least 19. She came with the house when we moved here 17 years ago. She has arthritis in her front legs and toes, so she's exclusively indoors for 5 or 6 years now. I don't think she could defend herself. She takes long naps on a screened in porch in the summertime when the weather is warm, but that's as close to outside as she's going to get.

I hope more people will contact rescue groups to rescue homeless cats and dogs when they see them on the street. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 by the way I hope the rescue groups in the US or around the world can contact the rescue groups or SPCA in Canada to help more homeless or shelter animals get adoption in Canada! In Canada sometimes we do not have enough pets to get adopted. Need to find the logistic solutions (pilot volunteers) to transport animals from high killed shelters in US and around the world to Canada!
“Jupiter” is such a GREAT name for a cat! I love that his personality is defined as “relentlessly friendly.” Thank you for restoring Jupiter’s trust in humans.
You can really see the disbelief of being left behind , the dissappointment with humans. I dont think I have ever seen an animal with that much sadness in their eyes. Eyes are the gateway to the soul. Sad to see when the light goes out.
Unless a person is dead, there is no reason to abandon an animal! If you can't rehome it, take it to a shelter! Don't just leave it behind! That breaks my heart when I see that and Jupy's sad eyes. I'm so glad that Jupy has a new home where he can live out the remainder of his years with a kind family!
It doesn't matter how long I live, I will never understand how someone could leave their child behind, because that's what "pets" are, they are our children, they depend on us for love, food, a warm place to sleep and the most important thing, hugs.
I have such a soft spot for senior animals. God bless this old man!
Thank you Cats of San Bernardino of rescuing this cat and finding him a new home. He seems like such a gentle teddy bear of a cat. I don't understand how anyone could abandon their housecat to the street. Its truly evil.
His little face expresses so much emotion. He looked like an old man in the beginning and got younger by the end. ❤
I hope the people that left him see this and see what they're missing and try to be better human beings in the future
Doubt it.
This love bugs previous owners are obviously heartless and selfish.
they probably died now because god punish ppl like them
Unfortunately people like that won’t change. They think getting a cat or dog is like a car, if the vet bills etc are too much they no longer want it 🥺
You are too kind! I wish his ex owners only the worst, ideally hope they will be let behind in an elderly home one day

YES!
Weak LOSERS abandon pets .. Their loss he will bring allot of love and joy to his new home, big thank you respect from Greece 💯 🇬🇷 🙏 ❤️
I recognized Jaina’s voice as soon as this video started. Cats of San Bernardino does AMAZING work rescuing and rehabbing the most sick and desperate cats and kittens. So happy to see one of their former rescues thriving and happy in his new home!
🫶 sending love to them!
(I’ll try to find a way to donate as well)
🐾❤
They have a TH-cam channel @@SeattleRaindrop206 with details of how to do so!
I recognised her voice too! Such a wonderful team.
@@MissIncorrigibleOfOz Thank you! (I just overdrew my account. live alone and support myself, which is really difficult these days.. near impossible to keep a roof over my head in a single-income-household)
BUT! I will always, always, always keep a percentage (even if it only amounted to 10 cents) to donate to the causes that I feel passionate for. They deserve it.
Things could always be worse for us, we should feel blessed and truly appreciate our gifts. Then give ANY extra that can be spared, to help others in need.

The sadness in his eyes was so heartbreaking to see : (
I find there are two kinds of pet owners. People who get a pet to make themselves feel better, and people who adopt a pet to save them, and give the pet a better life. These people are the latter, and everybody wins!
I don’t know how people live with themselves for abandoning a precious pet that they once Cared for
OMG, I am so happy for him. I can't believe someone got rid of him.
Thank you to everybody involved in helping this cat.
If you can’t look after a cat you don’t deserve one! I hope whoever left him get what’s coming to them. Thank you for helping this cat.🐾💜
I am from Vancouver, Canada and I have a big smile when I heard he adopted a family in Canada! I love Jupiter, there’s something special about him! I am so happy for him that he has a furrever family now! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️I cannot believe he lived on the street for 4 years after the old family left him by himself, 4 years he tried to survived in his own. I wish the neighbours had contacted rescue groups a lot sooner to rescue him instead of after 4 long years!
This is a BRILLIANT idea💡❤
Yes, yes, and more yes!
I wonder about logistics… I can try to research.
🐾 🌎 🫶
Right now the shelters are bursting at the seams.
@@SeattleRaindrop206 Yes yes! ✌️🙏
The poor old fellow, what a rough time he had! Thank goodness he was rescued and healed, and then rehomed with a loving family.
Ididnt think of that, wat if Jupes owner passed away?how sad.
He's such a sweet boy! How crule and heartless. Glad these awesome people rescued and adopted him!
Good to see he has a home
Heartless people who leave their pets have no idea how much bad karma will go their way. Thank you for saving him
The thought of him going for four years without a home is so heartbreaking. So happy for him now.
His eyes changed from total despair to "I am loved and wanted and have a home".
It doesn't matter how long I live, I will never understand how someone could leave their child behind, because that's what "pets" are, they are our children, they depend on us for love, food, a warm place to sleep and the most important thing, hugs. I'm so glad that Jupiter was able to find a loving family.
yeah the love component - he definitely needed that as well
people can be so awful and also so beautiful...blessings of happiness to you and your beautiful kitties🙏🏻
Weak losers do that .. Happy he found new real owners ❤
Who are the monsters that dumped this sweet animal? You are angels that helped him.
*_" .. He's such a sweetheart. How would would you ever let him go? .. "_*
My thoughts felt those words 💞 I'm happy Jupiter is now forever loved
How could you ever abandon a helpless little animal like that?! People are evil, cruel, despicable. Thank god this lovely aqua-eyed boy was rescued and adopted!
My daughter has four cats of her seven cats precisely due to this issue. Two former neighbors moved, leaving their cats behind. The other two showed up with collars that had to be cut off, and they were very thin. She has also been involved in taking care of vet needs of feral cats in her neighborhood. She is a one person rescue organization. Shame on people for thinking cats and dogs, or any animal, for that matter are disposable. Bravo to the new family in Canada! ❤
God bless ur daughter
Good daughter
It makes me SICK to hear about people leaving a pet who loves them and counts on them, behind! Those people are heartless and have no compassion whatsoever. Somehow, some way, karma will happen.
Thank you for helping this sweet baby!
Dude is just the sweetest house cat.
People who abandon pets deserve no happiness. 😾
As a fellow Canadian this was beautiful and it really touched me. What these people did was absolutely amazing 💕 I'm glad jupy found his forever home.
As a fellow Canadian you should know there are plenty of stray cats where you are at.
@@lukejposadas As a fellow canadian you should know that providing me information I already know is annoying. Mind your own business and let me appreciate this touching video. Thanks!!

Pissed that Americans think that Canada is always cold we have summer here too
Truly noble. Thank you and God bless.
How sad that he had to wait for four years before finding his forever home. But THAT is commitment: to travel so far to adopt a cat. He's set for life now.
He definitely is. We are never letting him go!
There needs to be punishment for cruelty towards animals. What a lovely cat ❤
Such BIG hearts you all have to travel such a great distance to adopt Jupiter.
When Jupiter squeezed between the pillows, it was as if he was saying
" I am not going away again and this is now my home ".
Precious baby.
This video story just welled up my eyes with happiness. THANK GOODNESS for kind and caring animal people!!!
Relentlessly friendly. I love that 🙏🏻💗🐈
Sometimes people makes stupid decisions,he's a sweetheart
To all the owners who left their cats behind.. you could’ve atleast take ur cat to a shelter so it could find a family agian. That neighbor sounds like a great person. It breaks my heart knowing there a lot of cats abandoned by they’re owners as a cat lover
i hope the people that abandoned this cat see this and realize they are trash.
They should be thrown to the lions.
👏👏👏
💯💯💯💯
I also hope they read this comment, so that they know other people think they’re trash.
Yes, would be nice if they will watch the video. Other humans are not like them. And Jupiter is a big planet of love and lives now his life he deserved.
Poor little guy ❤❤
That is one beautiful face! The only animal I ever loved had a face just like him of course he was also a cat. His name was piggy and he used to fall over a'lot due to lack of balance and sometimes knock his water bowl over. I miss him.
Thank you to this beautiful, loving family who rescued him. ❤
That meww at 2:47 😂🥹❤
What a love! Thanks, you guys....all of you🥰🥰🥰
It’s actually really great he hid behind their pillows! It probably helped him get used to their scent and associate their scent with safety.
How could the people in that neighborhood watch that cat for 4 years before helping him? Just sickening. God bless the person who rescued him.
"He's relentlessly friendly." I love that line!
Breaks my heart that someone could leave a family member behind 😢. Thank you for caring for the precious boy and finding him a loving home! ❤❤❤❤
He's such a beautiful cat and so friendly! How the hell can you abandon that?!
Thank you to the rescuers and the lovely couple that adopted him.
I hate to be part of the human race. Thank you for helping him!!
You have no choice for now.
Be aware it was also humans, that took him in and cared for him, to eventually have his Furrever home in Toronto.
Be kind to animals!
Thanks for your kindness
I'll never understand how people can abandon a pet...as awful as shelters can be, at least there is a possibility of adoption
Thank you for saving him you guys are the real angels 😇 and former owner they’re inhumane. How could you just left him behind like that hopefully karma will gets back at your soon enough.
I've had a shitty day but this made me smile
I hope they keep him inside always
You save the cat that is the love you show the world!
Thank you for saving him. Who leaves their pet behind? So cruel.
Thanks so much to the team of amazing people who rescued and fostered sweet Jupiter, and of course to his wonderful family who adopted him!!! ❤ He looks very happy and peaceful! Just what he deserves 🤗💕👏
My heart explodes when I think about this real-life fairytale ❤ he had a sad life. Then a fairy godmother in the form of caring neighbour showed up and with the help of a bunch of other godmothers of San Bernardino opened up his way and then there were his Prince and Princess, ready to travel to him from a land far, far away ❤ that's awesome
Abandoning an animal should be illegal!
A handsome lovey boy , and oh boy what an adjustment to our weather, I am from Montreal . Happy for Jupiter.💋💋🙏👍
Thank you for saving this lovely cat, should be more good people like you❤
No matter the happy endings, stories like these always leave my heart a little broken.
So happy for Jupy and God bless those involve in getting his happy ever after 🥰🥰🥰
God Bless Your Loving Hearts ❤❤❤
He is gorgeous ❤❤
Gah!! Jupiter’s story hit me in the feels. Thank you so much to the team who rescued him and to the family who adopted him. Four years is such a long time to be cold, hungry, and heartbroken. May the healing and joy come rushing into this boy’s life!
God bless him 🙏 ❤️ thanks for save life pet owners shouldn't leave them alone must arrange some where they can live rest of life
Such a sweetie. 😘 1:29
