    The loop timer is incredibly useful. It can be used to switch a device off (or on) after a fixed period - i.e. if you want a porch light to go off X minutes after being switched on just set the Restart Cycle to X minutes and the action to Off - then disable the second part of the loop timer function by removing the tick from the box. This can also be combined with PIR activated lights using the RF Bridge to trigger scenes. This has not been well detailed yet by Ewelink/Itead.

    • @csongorvarga
      @csongorvarga  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow, I am learning every day. Are you saying that the loop timer restarts, sync with the status change of the device? Otherwise how do you control that it always turns off after X minutes?

    • @ivanwilson7225
      @ivanwilson7225 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      However the device is turned on (manually if a Touch, via the App either manually or via a scene trigger, schedule time) it will stay on just for the duration set. I was first made aware of it on this link .... support.iteadstudio.com/support/discussions/topics/11000009090/page/3?url_locale= (Page 3). Obviously this may be inconvenient for some occasions if you wanted the device to stay on longer - would have to disable the loop timer (which is possible on the bottom of the set up page),

      Hi, I'm experimenting with the T1 1 and 2-gang touch switches. I'd like to set an auto-off timer which is always active and not running once (which is now in Timer) so the light is switched off automatically after say 30sec. I noticed you've the function 'Loop Timer' as well in the App. How to get this option? It is not visible in my App (iOS and Android). With IFTTT and Stringify it works partly. Any suggestions how to fix this?

    What can we automate in eWelink? We can add NFC tags to scenes and operate Sonoff Devices. Easy, so easy, I didn't even believe it was working.

    • @csongorvarga
      @csongorvarga  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, I got some NFC tags and it is not working on my phone. Nothing happens. So it is not that easy.

    • @obijuan-
      @obijuan- 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@csongorvarga There is a consideration that we have to be prepared for. And it appears that its not unique to the eWelink app. Most apps are not programmed to make this easy. Setup a NFC tag and assign a simple function/operation for the Sonoff device as a test. Scan the tag, a pop-up like alert or warning will appear even on a locked phone. We must slide the alert to the right to open the box and select the "open" choice. The app opens and the operation executes. Give it a try.
      I've heard but not seen that app developers could add the code that instead of the popup, the app will open as a result of the NFC scan and the operation will occur instantly, but not seen it.
      BTW, sir. I left you a note in your Sonoff Basic GDO opener video.

    Maybe the TH10 didn't appear in the scenes list since there was already automated control of it by temperature. If it was in a scene also, a conflict could occur where temperature is trying to turn it on and scene is trying to turn off or vice versa.

    I want to run several Sonoff applications to Run my Pool pump ONLY if temperature is above 18degrees.
    Turn on pool pump if temperature is above 18deg
    AND
    Turn on ONLY between 08h00 and 18h00 daily
    AND
    Intermittent turn off every 30 minutes between 08h00 and 18h00 ( to allow Solar panels to heat water via sun for 30 minutes, before discharging the heated water into the pool)
    PLUS measure consumption that Pool pump consumes daily/weekly/monthly
    OR
    Please advise what Sonoff devices i should be using.
    I also want to measure the pool water temperature, and will need a water proof probe(DS18B20 or other)

    • @csongorvarga
      @csongorvarga  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You need a POW and a TH10. The pump will be connected to the POW and it will measure the power consumption and will also switch the pump on/off. You also need a TH10 with a DS18B20 to measure the water temperature. Next you need to create a lot of scenes, that trigger at 08:00: turn on POW -> Delay 30 min -> turn off POW. Next triggers are 9:00 and do the same, and so on until 17.00. Next you create a new scene where if the TH10 temperature is > 18C, you enable all the pump scenes, and one last scene if the TH10 temperature is < 18C, you disable all the pump scenes. That will do what you need.

    • @csongorvarga

    Hi; does anyone know how to inhibit a Sonoff PIR from activating a Sonoff Basic switch [which is driving outside security lights] during the hours of daylight. The PIR itself does not have a light sensor. I could use an extra switch operated by a sunset/sunrise timer from weatherUnderground in series with the first switch but this is not a good solution, and it prevents me from controlling lights simply from Alexa or the Sonoff app itself. Have trawled thru Ewelink and IFTTT for solutions but non found. Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

    Great videos thanks I was curious where the automation routines actually reside. I'm guessing in each device but how do scenes involving multiple devices function?

    • @csongorvarga
      @csongorvarga  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question. I have not done extensive testing, but I would say it is probably cloud. After all your devices could be on different networks and they may not necessarily able to talk directly to each other. Although in most cases they would be. I have not done extensive testing, but I assume if the internet is gone, scenes are gone as well. As you can see in the videos, scene responses are pretty fast, but definitely not instantaneous.

    I have been trying to figure out how to use the touch switches in a 3-way environment. I think your demonstration showing the scene "touch2basic" may be the answer. Can you create a "basic2touch" as well? This idea with two touch switches could be the answer. Thank you for your very informative video

    • @csongorvarga
      @csongorvarga  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am not sure what you mean by "3-way environment". You want to control lights with multiple switches? I don't think this is going to work, because in the scenes you have to specify "on" or "off". There is no "toggle". Unless I misunderstood you. But of course you can so a basic2touch scene as well.

    • @joe18324
      @joe18324 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I am trying to control lights from multiple locations. In the UK it is called 2-way and in the US it is called 3-way. (typically a hallway or staircase) Thank you for your input. I am waiting for a couple of basic devices, I will experiment with them and if I have any success I will update you. Thanks again

    • @csongorvarga
      @csongorvarga  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      OK, I was on the right track. I just thought about a solution. I think that would work: let's assume you have a two wall switches called Touch1, and Touch2. And the hallway light is on a Basic. You need 4 scenes. One triggers when Touch1 is turned on, and it turns Touch2 and Basic on. Second triggers when Touch1 is turned off, and it turns Touch2 and Basic off. The other two is for Touch2 which works the same for on and off states. These scenes basically keep the state of the 3 device in sync. When your turn one of the touch on, the other touch comes on as well same as the light. When you touch and of your switches now, it will flip the state. And this method will work with any number of switches. You can also use this with touches only if you can wire the lamp to one of them. I think this will work for you.

    • @joe18324
      @joe18324 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, that is what I am looking for. I thought the two touch switches would be enough but adding the basic is no problem. I am going to order two switches asap. Thank you

    This is brilliant thank you, what would you suggest if I have an old house security alarm system that I would like to get sonoff notifications on the app, could I possibly connect a sonoff device to the 12v siren output if the alarm to send me a notification when the alarm is triggered?

    • @csongorvarga
      @csongorvarga  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes you can do that. Probably the best if you get a 12V relay, and the 12V siren will operate the coil. And you connect the replay COM and NO outputs to the S1 and S2 connections of a Sonoff mini. That is the switch input on the mini. You just need to enable the notifications for this device and it will give you a notification every time the siren goes on and goes off. This assumes the siren is operated with a fixed 12V, not with some sort of pulsed voltage.

      If you want to use the geofence on multiple phones, you can just log into the same account in IFTTT and the applet will trigger on multiple devices. Or you create a new account for her and create the same activity for her. Different IFTTT account, but will be linked to the same eWeLink account so she will see the same devices as well.
      On the light turning off triggering the motion sensor is probably a valid concern. I am afraid it will. A PIR sensor would probably be better. Maybe that can be hacked onto the button of the Sonoff somehow....

      I am just a user who shares his thoughts, not affiliated to Sonoff in any way. But I am happy to help. First name dot last name at gmail is probably the easiest.

      @@csongorvarga very helpful video.
      I have smart plugs and bulbs which switch on automatically when power is restored after it was cut off even though on there schedule they are supposed to be off....
      I will appreciate if you can help

      @@muhammedbux8302 When you go into the device settings (three dots and Settings), you can set the power on state. But I am afraid the schedule only activate "on time". So eWelink will not evaluate the settings after a power on, if the time in the schedule already passed.

      @@csongorvarga that's the problem. Since there is a lot of power cut in my country every time electricity is restored all my smart products switch on even if they are supposed to be off. Someone told me to use "loop timer" or "delay" option but i don't know how to set it up.

      Az hogy bekapcsoláskor milyen legyen a relé állapota. Mondjuk egy áramszünet után ha visszajön az áram akkor kikapcsolt, bekapcsolt legyen vagy a legutóbbi állapotot vegye fel.

    BEFORE YOU BUY A SONOFF... DOWNLOAD THE AND REGISTER WITH THE EWELINK APP.... if you can not register with the ewelink app, you won't be able to test the sonoff when you get it without breaking the warranty sticker on the sonoff. The sonoff has been down 90% of the time over the last year, and many people can not
    even register with their servers... Buyer Beware... this could lead to a lot more work than you
    bargan on.

    Don’t buy sonoff, If you share a sonoff device, for example to your wife, she s unable to create scenes. Never could use a voice assistance.
    it's ridiculous, funny.

    I hate you all that can automate your houses using sonof... It's illegal here since it doesn't have compliance certification.

      Where is that? Is anyone stopping it being imported if you order from Ali/ebay or amazon?
