  • Bit of a mixed topic on eWelink mostly reoccurring questions I received in the comments.
    - Controlling device over wifi or mobile data
    - What happens if I loose my phone?
    - Moving devices across accounts
    - How my devices work if I don't have internet connection

    I wanted to know if it is possible to connect the sonfoff 4CH pro to a mini doorbell and configure it so that the app sends a notification when it is activated, for example? Or does Sonof only have an on and off function and I would have to use esp?

      The CH4 Pro does not have inputs, so it will not work for you. Maybe you could use a mini and connect the bell to the switch input and it will be an event like if somebody turn a lightswitch on. But it is not straight forward, check the wiring.

    Hi, Thanks for the videos. I have two questions please. 1) can the timer be used for something which needs to switch on for few seconds after every 5 min? I believe it has to be done by looping? (2) I am in a place where power failure is regular event and I need to keep a pump for my Aeroponic plants. Once programmed, if there is power loss and restarted without WiFi while pump is on battery/generator backup, should the program be running the pump as programmed before the power failure?

    I live in a small town, and sometimes the ISP cable internet goes down. With earlier versions of the software, it would allow me to control the devices in offline mode (with no internet connection to the outside world). Now, I have version 4.2.1 for Android, and firmware version 3.4.1 on my basic switches. When my internet went down today, I wanted to power up a device (while my phone was connected to my router's wifi)- but all devices were offline, even though I have LAN mode enabled.

      It's good to know that at some point it usted to work that way, I saw a lot of people complaining about some pay issues.

I'm trying to download the apk and use because if I open the app without internet, the devices do not appear in the screen to be controlled. @@matheusvra_ it was a version from two years ago. I don't know if I could even find it to download and install it. There was an offline mode you could select back then. Also in the meantime the thermostat switches on at a temp of 36 degrees c and off at 40 degrees only between the hrs of 12pm until 10 pm. Ever time I set a scene the loop timer takes over still and carrys on switching on and off thanks alan

    • @csongorvarga
      @csongorvarga  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, that is correct. You either have loop timer, or the schedules. They do not work in conjunction with each other. I suggest to use the schedules only. Set all the times when you want to relay to turn on, and configure the inching to 30 minutes and that will turn it off after 30 minutes. And of course do not add schedule during the period where you don't need it.

    • @csongorvarga
      @csongorvarga  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      What you store in the schedules of any Sonoff is actually stored locally on the device. So that will turn your lights off. But the schedules cannot do sunset just a specific time. So I suggest to use the existing sunset routine and set a scheduled off on the device. So it will turn off regardless if you have network or not. Maybe set at 0:00 and also 1:00 to be on the safe side. The only thing to keep in mind, that these devices do not store time. So if there is a power outage, the internal time resets to midnight and will not get synced to the real time unless they can reconnect back to the internet. So the 1:00 schedule will turn them off eventually.

What I seen in other systems that the clients (sonoff device) leave a port open and the app can scans all devices on that port and identify the devices.
