Denzel Washington is an extraordinary actor and an exceptional human being. He and his lovely wife and family are a blessing to the world. Their moral principles are admirable.
This scene stayed in my mind ever since I watched the movie a decade ago. Denzel is so smooth, having a seeming friendly and conciliatory interaction, and then boom, a ruthless throat punch. Same with training day when he was literally ball busting a homeless dude.
Denzel loves that hit to the throat. Can tell Denzel knows how to look after himself in real life. Don't matter how bad a man is you catch him in the throat he ain't fighting back

This is the most iconic throat punch from Denzel. I see it in other movies he stars in but this is the scene I always flash back to whenever I see it someplace else.
+FARK HEAD No I don't. But I practice Krav Maga and it's quite simple to do. First you need to know that this is a close distance strike (so are elbow and knee strikes). If the distance is extremely short, you need to open your hand and hit your target with that part between your thumb and your point finger (like Denzel did). Now, if your target is a little further (and you should maybe avoid that strike) then you might want to use the tips of all four fingers (extending your hand and arm toward your opponent's throat). If so, you might need to shorten the distance by moving one foot while the other stays to the ground for weight transfer best balance of your body. Like a normal punch, you should rotate your shoulders and hips so that your whole body gives the strike. Oh yeah, one last way to do it is to literally punch vertically (this is often used for knife defense).
+23whiz If you honestly want to learn boxing would be a good start for your fundamental training. It's practical and effective with plenty of foot movement.

Lol Spike knows gold when he's sees it!
Goodness! Rosario Dawson is gorgeous in this movie. 😍
Denzel has got have one of the smoothest demeanors in the business. Every character - when provoked - he’s always calm bomb waiting to go off. Slick talker. Smooth walker. Low key violent. I wanna be him when I grow up. Lmao! 😂
you do realize he is an actor, and that slick talk is scripted and so is everything else, he is just good at acting it out.
How old are you lol
Grow up.
@@_festival .... just complimenting the mans’ acting ability. Be easy.
💯
Moral of the story: shut tf up when grown folks are talking.
Yep.
Moral of the story is: Everyone should keep a cool head to avoid death or prison.
Real life: "beta" man's thoughts circle in his head afterwards. Returns and puts lead between "Alpha" man's eyes.
😂🤣😂
@@jimbohalsey8374 - Except when it's a Sigma man and he's waiting and puts a slug in Beta first.
Moral of the story: Know who and what you're dealing with.
If you don't know, don't deal and keep breathing.
@@guarddog318 Clearly you don't know how things work. "Beta" males are mostly low key. And " Alpha" males aren't automatically shooting people. "Alpha" males are the trouble makers who automatically want to fight...
2:35 how your uncles who just got out of jail actually treated you then turning around asking you for a few dollars 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Not counting ex boxers and MMA fighters, the two actors who threw the most authentic punches, you knew they could punch in real life and knock people out, was James Cagney and Denzel. It's no coincidence that both grew up hard and most of their childhood friends were in prison or dead.
Hmm I would definitely include Charles Bronson on that list
Damn he looked so young back then, and also his Afro seemed sick af
What why what was wrong with his afro man why was it so sick to you.
Jerry Travis lmao
Foreal foreal.
He knocked ol' boy back down to a crab P-4 with that throat punch. TAKE OFF MY DRUM!
One bop, one sound. lol
That’s hilarious...well done! 😂
Denzel is one class Actor. He can do any role, imo.
O yea how bout a white supremacists
@@johndigler7789 You didn't even try.
Denzel's acting is all about keeping that fiery rage in him down, being cool to avoid killing every mf in sight.
That'a exactly how a white supremacist would be like in 2021, hiding his rage until he's face to face with a target.
You could have picked a million different answers, an idiot, a bullied teacher, a coward, ...
He couldn't shine Samuel Jacksons shoes!
@@johnnyangel9163 lol gtfo
“You can’t talk now huh?” 😂😂

I love when denzel said whatever 2xs in a nonchalant way @ 0:58. God Bless.
Damn Rosario Dawson was so fine. Make me wish I could go back in time. Don't get me wrong though she still bad.
Acin101 see Trance.
Acin101 She was 19 here.
O' girl was straight up jockin' that man, starring and licking her lips not once @ 0:16 but twice! This was back when O' girl was brand new on the movie scene so I'm sure that was uncensored instincts doing a scene with Denzel in his prime.
Was?
@@timothywade9982 Hey bud, she learned that from your mama, no?
Denzel was awesome as usual, but what many fail to realize was how good Ray Allen was in this movie as a non professional actor.

Denzel destroyed more throats than throat cancer.
I can’t stop laughing 😂
Denzel embellishing true panic and anxiety.. You can sense without dialogue. Just acting skills. You know the character is pressuring to find his son or else it may be go back to jail for him.. Amazing how actors know how to do this
sometimes you got to put young cats in the place lol
Lol
You must be a jerk in your personal life if you think her older brother got what he deserves. I'm against overprotective brothers, but he had the right to be scared for his sister in that one scene. It's like how I would say anyone who likes the show The Sopranos and then say it's because they like the main character I would also call a racist. I think a person can like The Sopranos and not be a racist, as long as they look at it as a character study and only care about what happens next, but if a person only likes the show because they relate to the main character who is a racist, then the person watching the show is a racist. A person liking a fictional character can tell you a lot about a person.
She wasn't his sister she was cheating on jesus shuttlesworth with that dude and jesus's dad knew about it.
Better make the 1st hit count😂
did u ever watched the movie u dumb bitch white knight?
That scene was filmed in front of abe lincoln high school off ocean parkway in brooklyn. You can tell by the busses and the service roads in the background. I went there a few months for my GED classes years ago
The switch up is crazy with this chick..
The way she said Deandre 3x knowingly she ain’t messing with Jesus
I don't know who was more gangsta.... Jake Shuttlesworth from "He got game" or Alonzo Harris from "Training day". Thank you Denzel.
Or Robert McCall from the equalizer
@@hendiscipleofgod6392 LOL, Neither
Try Nick Styles from, "Ricochet"
Actually I think its Denzel Washington from real life
Throat strike gets 'em every time...
Bottom line is.............when the actor is Denzel and the director is Spike Lee.......we gonna see some damage.
2Fine2Be Humble shutcho bitch ass up
Denzel grabbed that n!g's head 😂 & followed throughed on that n!g 😭⚰️
What makes this scene even greater and funnier is the reaction from the crowd. Drumline dude got dropped.
KRS-ONE's lyrics coming in just after the punch only added to the epicness of the scene. The two greatest of all time in their fields.
it was so good ive been searching the comment section for the name of the song that flow is nutty
@@jackorami2557 The song is Unstoppable. Public Enemy featuring KRS-ONE.
Ironically the name of the track in this clip is Unstoppable and Denzel and Rosario both starred in a movie called Unstoppable :D
PremierAutoMan86 Great observation on your part, sir.
Moral of the story is don't try to be captain save a and keep your hands to your mf self
