  • When the diminutive Messerschmitt Bf109 entered service in February 1935, it was one of the most advanced aircraft in the world, clearly heralding the future of fighter design. Produced in greater quantities than any other fighter aircraft, the Bf109 served throughout the Second World War and was flown by many of the world's most successful air aces.

That box art gives me an idea for a small diorama with a Spitfire or Hurricane !!!!!👍

Strange to see the subject on fire instead of it's adversary. Must be British sentiment.....As we know the losses were pretty equal in the fighter department....

Love the box art and colour scheme, with white Med theatre narkings rather than usual yellow ones. These kits may have 'only' one scheme but they are a lot cheaper than Tamiya or Eduard. Who provife multiples. Great start for youngesters onto the hobby.👍

    No swastika?

This kits livery depicts a 109 of JG53 who painted over their swastikas in protest. They had originally marked their planes with a "Pik A" and when Goering discovered that this was likely an indictator of some Jewish ancestry within the fighter group, he ordered all planes to have the art removed and replaced with a red strip on the front cowling.
In response to this, the crew and pilots simply block painted over the swastikas as an act of joint protest. So in this particular case, the lack of tail swastika is accurate! Hope this helps! :)

Its a nice little kit. Watch out cutting the tailplane braces of the sprue, they break very easily.
Bit of flash around the cockpit? You might want to fix that.

Re boxing with dull markings! Out of all the amazing schemes available why did they go for this one?

My question is why only one option? Kits from companies like Tamiya and AZ give you three marking options, while others give you four or six choices. Price is the only selling point for this kit. I like Airfix kits, but I would rather pay a little extra and get more decal options.

Why in every single kit that includes a German fighter there is a spitfire and the German fighter is crashed

same tooling, starting to look old and a tad worn with a different decal sheet, nothing to crow about

As usual, not impressed at all, you need to do ALOT better Airfix.
