I've just bought one of these and the quality and level of detail is amazing for 1/72. The soft nature of the plastic and the grey colour reminded me of Frog kits (One for the teenagers) but with the quality of a different century.
Ace modeler building an ace kit - what can go wrong? The amount of detail is mindblowing for a 1:72 scale imho...Top notch Dusan - have a nice WE you and all...👍
Special Hobby should sell a lot more kits after people seeing this build, wonderful work on the kit! That carrier film reveal from the decals, man that was so good. Loved the cockpit and engine detail too. Thanks for sharing with us all 👍
That was one of the greatest kits I've ever build. I must build at least one more. ;) Your result is great, and yes, it is Eduard - whole kit was designed by them. I'm still amazed how great is that kit. It is 1/48 scale details level, or even 1/32 scale sometimes. Once again - Your kit looks absolutely great. All the best for You! ;)
Another top notch model, this is one of my favourite versions of this great fighter (Battle of Britain vibe). Preiser some time ago made a set of relaxing Luftwaffe's pilots, a diorama with them and such a beautiful model would be perfect!
Not only decals are Eduard Dušan, the whole kit, along with some known flaws is Eduard's rescaled 1/48th Emil. Nevertheless, very nice kit and build. 👍🏻
The presentation of the kit and the assembling and painting the parts of the airplane are fantatastic . The final result is awesome , my friend . Thank you for sharing this great video !👍🥇🏆👏👏👏
Great build as always Dusan 👍😎 Good to see Special Hobby are finally stepping up their game with the model kits, detail and fit of parts, unlike their older kits 👍
It is not the Eduard scaled down (as Alex S says), as Eduard have an Me109F or G tailfin on ALL their E models, E went straight all the way to the aerial post, F and G radiused round to it. Happy to see Special Hobby got it right. Also it appears that the nose vents on the engine cowling have got the correct shape at the back edge, NOT curved as per front edge but flat topped (as is cowling on the ENTIRE top and where the vents also are, then bending down the sides. Not once in the video was there a shot looking aft at the nose, those vents are a distinctive flared shape and not slits when viewed aft, so I think, but video didnt show it, we have at last correct nose vents on an Emil. Me109E it is almost impossible to see the rivets on the real aircraft, so applying a wash to make them all black was not a good move. Also what was that golden brown as RLM71 dark Green IS NOT GOLDEN BROWN ! The end result was a failing with the colours and wash. Photo that at scale height and place that in a real scene with photoshop, it would be miles different, you have gone for an effect and not realism; if that was Mr Aqueous RLM71 its been wrongly labelled , should have sprayed out a sample and stopped when seeing that. Probably RAF Dark Earth or similar ! I also would suggest applying glue to the actual joint, not a wash as it leaves a scarred surface despoiling the surface of this fine model. If that decal will distort to fully hug the 3D instrument panel I would be most amazed. Superb bit of model casting best hand painted or aftermarket pre printed part.
I immediately thought of eduard decals when I saw them. They look very good after you’ve removed the “top layer”. Just don’t make the same mistake as I did and forget to remove one on a decal. Once you put a coat of clear on top you can’t get it off anymore and it’ll look terrible.
I'm loving it! Another great build Dusan! Great skill. Thanks for sharing. Will you tell us what's next? B-52 or C-130 that wolud be awesome :D Regards.
Well at least Special Hobby has put out the Whirlwind in 1/32nd, because this constant Spitfire, 109, 190, P-51 {throw up} treadmill from all leading manufactures{for Aircraft} is sickening. LOOK AT THAT! A DB FOR A 1/72 KIT! Exhaust is seperate?! HUH! Nice pit and engine work, and agreed - very nice fit. You always do a good job on weathering, always the right touch. The 109 came out perfect Dusan! Congrats!
Dusan, I would really like to see the complete process. And I mean that I, at least, do prefer to see how you work on the model itself than watching two full minutes of photographs at the end.
This is so well engineering kit that I really can build it in a few hours (with the paint job included). I wanted to show the detail in the first part of the video/review as well the critical aspects during the build and painting, if there is an issue with the fit etc. Don't get me wrong I can make longer videos with explaining something like "this is the paint brush and now I will highlight the gauge " etc. and talk about that same brush for the next 10min. But it's not my style. All the best! Dusan.
@@ScaleModelAircraft Hey Dusan! No, don't get me wrong. I don't mean something like "this is the paint brush and now I will highlight the gauge".
