Man, when I started messing with the monolith and "Have They Come For Us" started playing... that was quite the moment of, "ah, I've fucked around and am now finding out."
Have They Come For Us is so atmospheric when a bunch of shamblers enter the map and shuffle past the colony. I can almost feel the hardened gaze of a lookout, hand over revolver, uncertain if they will continue on and die, or turn and chase.
As for the soundtrack, I can say that: Original is the basis, a kind of amazing sci-fi western, traditional instruments mixed with electronics, it sets the tone for the whole game. A skillful combination of calm and tension. Royalty - a part of the sound associated with the fallen empire. Keeping a noble gloss, but the tracks to a greater or lesser extent dissolved in the atmosphere of the original. Anomaly is stranger and suspenseful, even more distant from the original, but this can be explained by the fact that the anomaly things has broken out and familiar rimworld will no longer be the same. It is increasingly losing its original appearance
I just studied the monolith and the music changed. MAN, how good is the song "A Twisted Path"?! When I hear it, it touches me somewhere deep inside. Awesome!!! Spotify????
"Oh.... Those who ignorant, I envy them, I loath them and I resent them. Oh... How they go on their daily life trading, raiding and do their whim. Oh.... If only they realize how thin the veil that stand between them and oblivion. Oh.... If only they knew but I don't blame them." "You know I spend my life in pursuit of knowledge, I am firm believer that knowledge is the truth, knowledge is impartial, knowledge is not evil, those that use it for evil purpose that is evil...... Oh... how wrong I am, not in this case.... Because in this case.... Knowledge.... It's kills... "
The first track is such a bittersweet tune! First time I heard it in game I was so happy and excited for the new music and my ignorance of the new gameplay. It almost lulls you into a false sense of curiosity, then as you discover more and more anomalies the song kinda changes meaning, but MAN does it keep me motivated to save my now in shambles colony! Best DLC to hit Rimworld after Ideology if you ask me :D
Listening to this pretty much got me excited to buy the new DLC. It's a departure from the traditional Rimworld soundtrack in a highly welcome way. Great work and thanks for sharing!
'Have They Come For Us' has such a unique vibe. I'm absolutely in love with that song and I stop everytime it starts in game (which is thankfully very often)
Murder drones ost or any other ost aint beating this any time soon!😅 Alistar really be hearing other ost and be like: hold my beer The miyazaki of gaming music, underappreciated but excellent, the king has returned!
Tynan: ok Alistar, we need you to make another set OST, it doesn't have to be as good as your previous one Alistar: challenge accepted *proceeds to make an absolute banger of an OST🔥🔥🔥🔥
These tracks are alot more... overt? less subtle? than the ones from basegame or Royalty. Makes sense though, since music is a great way to convey suspense or horror, and that's the whole theme of the DLC.
it's honestly fitting too. Compared to the others, this DLC basically makes it clear that the only way you're going to fully interact with all of it's settings, mechanics and so on is by going out of your way to do so. You wanna know why to there's flesh monsters and random settlements going dark? You wanna figure out what makes those shambler freaks tick? You wanna tap into thee dark arts? Well it's not gonna come to you, you have only one choice: *take the plunge*
why couldnt ideology or biotech have gotten the new music :'( not interested in the whole aspect of this dlc but i dont think it's worth buying only for the in game music
@@bentheben01 came back to this comment... this dlc grew on me. i am now 6 years into my anomaly colony, i think this is my longest save too. i am now trying to make the perfect xenotype for my ghouls
You're wrong, this is way better than Royalty's one with all its "waaaayeeaaaheeeyeeaaah! wwaaaayeeaaawhoooaaa!". The original is god tier though, it goes Original > Anomaly > Royalty
To me Anomaly's OST is much more satisfying and emotionally charged, than both Royalty's and Vanilla ones. They never game me goosebumps, to be honest. And here comes Anomaly... Ah! That moment when I activated the monolith and those dark circles appeared and this track started playing and the fog covered my colony... That was hell of experience! I never got anything similar from previous OSTs.

A Twisted Path
Have They Come For Us
"They See You" and "Shambler's Blues"
After the last couple expansions, I wasn't sure if Alistair was going to do any more tracks for RimWorld again. Man am I glad I was wrong.
Man, when I started messing with the monolith and "Have They Come For Us" started playing... that was quite the moment of, "ah, I've fucked around and am now finding out."
the monolith dark vein effects are so damn cool
Have They Come For Us is so atmospheric when a bunch of shamblers enter the map and shuffle past the colony. I can almost feel the hardened gaze of a lookout, hand over revolver, uncertain if they will continue on and die, or turn and chase.
It gave me an instant feeling of paranoia when I heard it for the first time, it's perfect

Alistair outdoes himself with every expansion

For a song called "Abandoned by the light", it sounds very upbeat.
Death Pall Rising squad member reporting in, sir
You, Sir, are a gentleman and a scholar! Cutting grass with headphones has never been more enjoyable!
Spent introject goes so hard
I've been playing Rimworld for many years but it's the first time I'm searching for the soundtrack online

Thank you for uploading the new soundtrack. Happy too see Alistair back on a Rimworld soundtrack. Cheers.

Some of these tracks, like Blood Rain Falling, are giving me HUGE Risk of Rain vibes in the best of ways

Blood Rain falling reminds me a lot of one of the original OST tracks
Alistair did it again ladies and gents! Bravo!
What could be better than adding OST music from Rimworld to your playlist? I do not know either
Blood Rain Falling sounds like it has alarms in it. Fuckin superb

Rimworld's ost is so good.
The ending music is a strange mix of "Starcraft II WoL" and "Prey", i like it a lot
This is great music
This is absolutely amazing! Thank you! A++
Love the first one ❤
Almost seems like a death stranding inspired expansion, i like the soundtrack
Perfect to listen to while working.
Shadow Work is giving off Plague Inc vibes, while also fitting nicely with dark research.
"Beats to explore Extradimensional Horrors to"
Death Pall Rising reminds me a bit of Lockjaw's Saga
It's soo good...
Death toll rising has some serious project zomboid vibes
Got some project zomboid vibes on the first track
I love that riff so much, it's so damn catchy
Is there sheet music available for Rimworld OST songs? Particularly interested in Mind Map from Royalty.
A Twisted Path is such a banger.
Niiiice!
Батарейка 💀
Upd.
for those who don't got it, search for russian song "Juki - Batarejka"
XD 💀
Ну реально, первое уж очень похоже на него
Эти две мелодии ровно на столько же похожи, на сколько и различаются и это реально нервирует. Тайнен запугал меня на психическом уровне
слава богу, не мне одному показалось
theres one missing called like a iron feather
a twisted path slaps so hard
I feel like the names dont really fit with the songs but who cares they are great.
Мне одному Start (A Twisted Path) жутко напоминает: Жуки - Батарейка?

The DLC really is packed with content, more so than I was expecting! I highly recommend it if you need some spice
@@bentheben01 Yep. I am probably 30 - 40 hours in and I keep finding new stuff. Anomaly is a massive expansion.
