I was comparing different themes. To me, It's kinda like when Martin Scorsese directed Hugo and then one of his next movie was Wolf of Wall Street.
I enjoyed Babe and Happy Feet. When I get the chance I will see this movie.

it's a great movie. most entertaining movie i've seen this year so far. however, i feel its "magic" is really felt only on the big screen. i'd still recommend it either way though.

I love going back to this trailer now that the movie is out. So funny to see all these armchair critics dismissing it based on this trailer alone. I wonder how many of them will admit their mistake, and how many of them are stubbornly defending their original opinion.

The majority of critics disliked Robocop 2014 too. It scores a 52/100 on Metacritic and 49% on Rotten Tomatoes. Mad Max on the other hand scores 89/100 and 98%. The viewer score on Metacritic is an 8.8, and on Rotten Tomatoes 89% of the audience liked Mad Max. So yeah, both critics and audience alike agree that Mad Max is a very good movie. But people like you always need to go against the mainstream, mindlessly hating everything that is popular.

Theresz actually alot more cgi then you think. Its just good so you dont notice. Good cgi works amazingly in movies. Explosions every three seconds isnt good cgi though which is why you notice it

Um what about the scene where the you-know-what (spoiler avoided) flips over and the giant guitar swings around and the quick release steering wheel flies toward the screen and the camera goes inside the mouth of the skull on the quick release. Don't tell me that wasn't CGI.
These kids with their "its fallout!" or "its borderlands!" And to the very few "its Rage!" You guys need to understand Mad Max came out in the 70s and inspired Fallout and many other post apacolypse settings in the media. It doesn't take anything from those games, Mad Max is its own thing.

i read an interview with george miller hwere he said that he wanted to add more to his mythos, and since he now has a better tech that the one he used to have in 1979, he can do mad max better, after all, is the same mind behind the previous 3, kinda like ridley scott and prometheus

I am so tired of movies getting away with having an inadequate story because they are filled with action and cgi.. Unfortunately the average viewer no longer cares for movies which require them to use their brains.
Actually, George Miller said they didn't use a lot of cgi in Mad Max Fury road . All the car-crashes are real and there are a lot of stuntmen involved. So that's why i'm very thrilled about this one...
This movie is almost 90% practical effects apart from the sandstorm, so of the saturation and enhancements on explosions, and the establishing shots of the citadel.

The amazing part about the original Mad Max movies was that everything was real: real explosions, real stunts, real fire, etc. There was no CGI. It was realistic. But now, in 2015, theres barely any clip in this trailer that doesnt have CGI in it. This, in my book, causes this to lose a feature that makes this a Mad Max movie.

I saw an early screening of this film, and there is barely any cgi, only the sand storm scenes. Everything else is real. Real cars, real fire, real action, real awesomeness. I'm not going to lie. This movie probably has the best action in a movie ever. I've seen pretty much every action movie ever made. I'll guarantee that you'll love this movie. This is definitely now my favorite movie in years.

His hairline is very similar to Mel's and he even has forehead wrinkle's that resemble Brave Heart.....That would be a cool twist and pay tribute to the man who started the whole post-apocalyptic movie genre.

This is a reboot of the Mad Max character for modern audiences. Although It's not rebooting the Mad Max story all the way back to when he was a cop, obviously.
People keep referring to this as a remake/sequel/Interquel and it's definitely not any of those.
Also, it's set in Australia just like the originals. They filmed in Africa because the floods caused the growth of too much vegetation to portray the Mad Max world.
Can someone plz explain the spray painting mouth chrome before they would kill themselves? And their view on the after life? And the whole half life thing. I seen the film today but they didn't really explain it too well. Especially why everyone had giant bumps on their skin etc.
Dextaur Newberry I'm not 100% sure, so take what I have to say with a grain of salt, but I believe that there was a scene where they said that when they die and go to Valhalla, their bodies would become fully chrome. I assume that the spray paint is their way of preparation/showing others that they are ready to die and transcend. As for the bumps, and there sure were a lot of people that had them, I think that may have been from radiation. Either that, or it was somehow from the squaller that they lived in, though I don't know how that would work.
The lumps are cancerous tumors they get from the radiation. Imortan Joe tells the War Boys that right now they are living their "Half-life" because it is the first half of their lives. They enter the second half when they die in combat, entering Valhalla, like in Norse myth. It could also be a spin on the term "half life" referring to the radiation around them. The spray paint is part of the "entering Valhalla" ritual, because chrome plays some role in it because of their use of cars and stuff.
It's all and all a pretty weird religion. This is what I picked up on in one viewing though so it might not be accurate.
The spray painting might also have to do with a sort of combat-high they might get from huffing a bunch of spray paint. Just a thought.

I have been waiting for this since Max walked off into the waste. That was when I was a kid sneaking downstairs and staying up late to watch Thunderdome after my parents went to bed. I have heard rumors about Fury Road since the early 2000's. I hope it doesn't disappoint.

Apparently "CGI" has blinded so many that whenever they see something real, they call it out as "CGI".
You need to learn the difference between Practical Effects and Computer Generated Imagery. What you are mistaking is the colorization and editing.
The original Mad Max had nothing to do with desert warfare and oil. People always reference Mad Max whenever they actually mean to refer to The Road Warrior.
90% of the effects in this movie is going to be real appearently, you numbskull.
I wanted to see this so badly on the first day it premiered but I was hospitalized the day before for almost a month. When I got out, on a Monday, that following Friday I went to see it and loved it. It was also the last week my theatre played it. Even I wasn't in the hospital, I probably would have seen it at least 3 times.

As a big Mad Max fan i was itching to see this movie as soon as i saw the trailer. I loved it even though it has nothing to do with the original movies. The Interceptor could've had a longer lifespan but such is life. Nux is cool.
