It would be hilarious if one day we zoom out of the Mad Max Universe to find out what the rest of the world is fine and this has only happened in Australia.
… in 1990. 😂
You mean like in 28 Days Later, but without the zombies?
I've always thought about that 😂
I think about that in every apocalypse movie, especially Planet of the Apes. Hell, it already is Planet of the Apes.
Bro this IS what Australia is like everyday.
This is the most Australian Chris Hemsworth has ever gotten to be on-screen. Witness him!!

So it's very funny he's doing a silly Australian accent nobody has anymore, despite being Australian

"The best film to ever be called a disappointment" honestly made me slightly emotional because of how true it is.
I just hope this movie finds an audience on what's left of home video and streaming because it deserved so much better than it got.
Saw it at the Drive INN was Dope
Sigh, I feel that way about the Nicholas Cage movie "Lord of War"😢
Dude, it got a 90% score on Rotten Tomatoes. People loved it. It's the box office that suffered.
The masses are ever unreliable. In time I predict Furiosa will have Blade Runner levels of cult mojo (it was also a box office "failure").
Thousands ALREADY love it.
Even after the apocalypse, Aussie roads have fewer pot holes than where I live. Their department of transportation must have survived somehow. Late at night, road crews fix up all the potholes made by people throwing explosives at each other while driving. Just in time for next day's road war. Someone should do a movie about the road crews.
That would be hysterical
Mad Max: Fury Road Crew
No-one ever interferes with the road crews. They're like medics if you obey the Geneva Conventions.
I patch;
I live;
I patch again;
I shall ride into Valhalla, pitched and tarred;
Will "The Roadcrew" by Motörhead be on the soundtrack?
Job security fr 😂

I did too. I was the only person in the entire theater.

Me too. Which is weird because no one speaks English here.
The latest Planet of the Apes stole that meme though.
Where are you two going, so full of hope? THERE IS NO HOPE!

@@kedabro1957 You jinxed it.
Word of Saint Paul (from TV Tropes): According to his actor Goran D. Kleut, he and the crew discussed a potential backstory where the Octoboss and his gang grew up together after the apocalypse, before meeting Dementus, and he was inspired to master flight by listening to the History Man and his stories and wondering about how to find the Place of Abundance Mary and Furiosa came from. Also, the source of his name is Shrouded in Myth and could refer to (among other things) the compass points, a fight with eight other warlord bosses, or have simply originated from an octopus kite the Octoboss found before adopting that name.
Octoboss ended up being one of my favourite characters, his design and performance is so captivating, he could have had his own movie too.
seriously, he's like Mad Max's 'Boba Fett', visually cool with only a few scenes.
Before the apocalypse, he had the world record speedrun of OctoDad
A fellow troper!
I still feel sad whenever I think about the Mortifiers all dying during the War Rig heist. They had such a badass design and they really went all-in on capturing it.
I didn't really want to see Furiosa, but my husband convinced me and I thought it was pretty solid. I think I even liked it more than he did. Chris Hemsworth killed it in his role, and I thought the movie did a great job of making that every single scene moved the story forward in some way or another.
I totally agree. First decent action flick I’ve seen in years. Great score and sound design. Miller needs to hurry up and get the green light on a Tom Hardy sequel. People missed out on seeing this on the big screen. 🎉
@@MrBuketmanAgreed. Screw you Screen Junkies!
P.S.: Love your work Screen Junkies ❤
i actually enjoyed this film BUT Fury Road is on another level. it just felt more real, gritty and epic. hopefully we dont need to wait another decade for a sequel!
It will never happened. This bombed (sadly)
@@kaisamsa Never say never with Hollywood (I know it's Australian but I expect a major studio will get the rights). But most likely it will be more than 10 years, I'm guessing 20 and that it will be a full reboot of the franchise (with a different director obviously).
Am I right that Fury Road did a lot more live action scenes whereas this went to CGI more?
Totally deserved it 😂@@kaisamsa
@@HenryLeaf thanks!
I really liked Furiosa despite the common criticisms (too much CG, etc.). I recommended it to all my friends after watching it on a big screen at the end of May. I really hope we can still see sequels in the future.
It was fun seeing this movie in the theatre
Indeed
Yup!
If anyone did see it
The sound of the War Rig's horn made up most of the cost of the ticket.
I'm seeing it again in IMAX
Its a Disappointment that i didn't Perform well
It was really good
No kidding!
there was all this non-sense on X about the movie being woke. Like in what way is a bunch of Australians trying to survive a post apocalyptic world woke? and a young girl trying to stay alive in that world while surrounded by death (literally) is woke? would it have been less woke if she just died like all the others? also, there's 1000 men on screen and maybe 10 women total in the whole movie and that's counting immortant joe's wives that they show on screen during that one scene.
Agree, can't believed it flopped. It was so good.
Was looking for that comment. It‘s soooo good. No idea why it underperformed, but it‘s not a disappointment!
It was good. But it' wasn't Fury Road. It's a high bar to clear
Having Immortan Joe being the regional manager in this movie is so interesting cuz Fury Road is only from the Wives' and Furiosa's POV so of course he's scary & ruthless. To everyone else, he's just the old boss
He’s a CEO lol
Furiosa gave a totally different context to Immortan Joe's ruthlessness, he almost seems like the voice of reason at times and it's just another reason why he's one of the greatest villains ever.
Huh? He IS ruthless and terrifying to everyone else, he has a whole cut of warboys, people below are starving and still don't revolt because of fear, wives/milk mothers etc. suffer their fates in silence, everyone obeys him with no argument because they ARE afraid of him, not just because he's the ''boss''.
Best movie I've seen in theaters in a long long time
My condolences.

Tire town.
Valhalla's tire shop and car accessories!
@@CINEMARTYR Honestly missed a massive amount of potential world building with that one with a giant tire plantation
The amount of water required to invest and grow those trees over the years would be incomprehensible
A lot of tires are made from petroleum byproducts. So the materials are probably sourced from Gastown.

Furiosa sucked compared to Fury Road
@mattmaas5790 maybe (Fury Road was just that good), but most other movies coming out in recent years suck compared to Furiosa.
I don't understand why adult Furiosa wasn't played by Charlize Theron considering it doesn't seem to be set too long before Fury Road.
No need for de-aging, just ask Charlize to act younger - she is that good.
Charlize Theron has a blink and you miss it cameo at the end while rescuing the wives

Stylist town
A friend and I, both VFX Artists, went this and we didn't find the effects soo bad. There were a couple of scenes yeah but overall it was pretty good.
Being a VFX artist probably ruined a lot of heavy CGI movies for ya. It's similar to me who used to work at Pizza Hut and will never eat pizza again.
@@feonjun yeah you start analysing how things are done and if you fall into that trap it ruins scenes for you, because you no longer focus on whats happening but on what must have happened in the studio, although I'm still able to differentiate and enjoy the movie. :D Friend said it's probably his no.1 movie in 2024, we really enjoyed the movie and the visuals.
I could recall that Scrotus' face looks weird with noticeable computer effects while he was looking down at the dogman trying to hook the hanging truck. Same thing with the little warboy (Quaden) while he was asking his colleagues whether or not he could use the bommy knocker. Just straight out a video game.
Fans/audience have become vicious. If they don't like the characters/plot/story.... they start attacking the VFX/CGI. It is low hanging fruit, when they can't verbalize what they hate.

Pitty you didn't recognize the guy from Umbilical Brothers is in this movie. He deserves a quirky title.
The movie introduced a Chekov's Gun and didn't really beat the audience over the head with it: When Furiosa cut off her arm it still had the star map on it, implying that someone found it, located the Green Place, and destroyed it, leaving behind the swamp we see in Fury Road
No, that’s just head canon
That just sounds like a weird fan-theory to me. Her loss of the arm and the map is more symbolic of her losing her way back to the Green Place.
I actually expected it was going to turn out that she cut it off herself to keep someone else from using the map, once they figured out what it was. This is why I never solve murder mysteries.
