Everybody is singing praises for Lou Gramm but lets not forget the man responsible for that rock solid backbone groove of Foreigner which is Mr. Dennis Elliot. Pure perfection. Simple but perfect. And that Ludwig sound. Just wow. Off course Lou is up there with the best of them.
I'm glad you pointed that out. Lou was a drummer before he was a singer. Also, of all the original band members it was Lou and Dennis, who were extremely close to one another from the time the band started. Dennis helped Lou get his first apartment during the early stage of the band before any money 💰 came in. They often would bring their wives and go out to dinner often and would even stay at each other's homes sometimes. Lou talked all about this in his book. Dennis quit Foreigner in late 1991 toward the end of the UNUSUAL HEAT tour (Johnny Edward's was the vocalist then) . It's said the Dennis left to do professional woodwork. Truth is Dennis left because Lou was not the singer . Bassist Rick Wills left in 1992 because Dennis was gone, and he didn't want to play with anyone else . Rick Wills immediately joined BAD COMPANY.
