+oBet studios a guy named "theneedledrop" has a video titled something like 'you weren't born in the wrong generation'. dudes a huge self proclaimed music nerd with knowledge of like music from the 60s-up to a tee. Really opened my eyes imo
jane watts. good question. answer. if im honest with u. its there all crap these days.
The sound was a product of it's time. That's why you would like Night Flight Orchestra - they ape this sound perfectly. A bit too perfect for my taste, but anyway. They have 2 albums and a new one out soon.
Another Russ Ballard-penned gem. His music/lyrics cover the spectrum, all are so different from the others.
This brought a tear to my eye... It had been ages since I heard this song. Thank you, Rainbow 💙💜
Awesome song! Blackmore's fingers seem to just float across the strings so effortlessly,
58 yrs old here. Used to cover this song back in the day when we ran out of our own stuff. I can still hit these notes but good god they are high, especially the end mod. Graham Bonnet is a monster and a force of nature.
Back in the day was August 1979 RRELEASED ,,
There is a video on here now where he was singing it back this past Demeber (2022). He still can reach tbose highs, but he sounds like an old man singing it.
I know I'm young and all (15) but I'm so happy my family raised me on this music 🙏🏻
Listen to the music you like your parents have given you a treasure, but don’t be afraid you’re a young man listen to the music you want to listen to you don’t be intimidated again don’t be afraid music is to be enjoy. Listen to all of you pick a choose, pick and choose pick and choose pick and choose pick and choose pick and choose you can choose.
I've heard this when I was 3. Listened to the radio the other day when this was played. Tears came to my eyes as some great childhood memories came up. Awesome music.
we had the world's BEST music in the 70s and 80s 😎 glad I was alive to hear it 😎
Throw in the late 60's and i'm with ya brother.
FUCKIN A...BRA
MTV ruined it for all of us. Image over talent.
Can't disagree with a single word......magic days....magic music.....
Me too !!
OMG! Always loved singing along to this brilliant rock classic!💜❤️
This song was guaranteed to have every budding air guitarist in the place on to the dance floor , Me included , a classic Rock Anthem from simpler more carefree days that will linger in My memories for evermore , I just wish/hope the Youth of today could/can enjoy the same pleasure .
Graham Bonnet is an incredible singe, IMO the greatest rock singer the UK has ever produced, no argument on that ever.
I was living in Dublin, 19 years old, when this was released. That guitar riff was/still is epic.
Best in breed! Best EVER short haired rocker. Ladies and Gentleblah, I give you Mr Graham Bonnet!
Stephen Campbell It was what I always liked about him. His look is completely different from most people in his genre if music.
He is an original. Totally on his own trip. He looks more like James Dean than a longhair!
He’s got a full and strong voice
Every mothers dream son-in-law.
Rob Halford's hair was ever shorter.
Brings back such Wonderful Memories of 1970's,80's,early 90's...Born in 1962 and feel blessed to see and hear so many any Legends growing up in America that's long Gone .
I was in basic training when this song came out reminding me of the girl I left behind. I served for 6 years and when I got out I found that same girl and married her. This song brings back all of those happy memories of loving her. We are still married to this day.
That’s downright heartwarming. Hope you have many more years together. God bless.
That's AWESOME!! Hope you have many happy years together!
I can't stop listening to this.... God bless Ritchie Blackmore and Graham Bonnet
Wow! Just checked out the list of songs which Russ Ballard wrote. Amazing! This is melodic rock music at it's absolute best. That key change mid-song is sublime.
HOLD YOUR HEAD UP
God gave rock and roll to you
Brilliant band brilliant song brilliant vocals and lead guitaring GREAT BAND RAINBOW.
Dio , Bonnett and Turner great vocalist for Rainbow loved them all
Graham Bonnet - Top of list Greatest Front man. So good repeatedly !!!!
him and Brandon Flowers :))
GREAT tune. Say anything you want about it being more pop than metal-ish. but it's STILL a great tune. Graham Bonet's voice is unbeatable in this performance.
Brilliant
I totally agree. But this song rules
E não só,mas também o grande Roger e o grandíssimo Blackmore
Forever searching for new musicians and band that can create something like this. Just a bad ass song. Graham's voice is amazing.
Thank you @Marvelstudios for reviving this song to the young generation. It's a gem...
You're right they have NO IDEA what they're missing.
Thank you James Gunn
They had no choice, today's music is garbage. If they wanted anything good you have to go to the source. 60's 70's 80's.
This version or the original?
Me and my dad will always end up having this come on his Spotify playlist somewhere and it’s always when we are driving along a deserted road in the countryside or on a motorway at night. we sing along to it all the way through and it’s the best.
When music was written and performed with excellence, still play this very loud as its the only way to listen to it... The Vienna woods are alive with the sound of Rainbow
I heard this song on the radio all the time as a kid growing up! I had no idea that Richie Blackmore was the lead guitar here! guess when he left Deep Purple this is what he was doing. I started listening to this stuff at age 12(and that was 1982-83) played at our skating rink. I haven't stopped rock'n since!
saw this Rainbow lineup at the Rainbow Theatre London and Wembley arena a few days later which would have been 1979 - 1980. Still listening to them!
graham bonett..what a voice whatever type of music
Must admit, I never took much notice of this when it came out, I was a little schoolboy. But now, it reminds me of better days back then and I absolutely love it.
Graham Bonnet such wonderful Vocals
And charisma plus
Saw him with Alcatraz awesome
What a singer
Love them. Rainbow is one of my favorite bands of all time. I am happy to say I got the see them in 1978.
Richi Blackmore one of the best guartarist I've ever heard. Vocals just outstanding. Superb group. 👌🙌
I like that riff. It does get stuck in your head but in a pleasant and not tortured way.
To bring the 70s back for One day. The kids now, would Absolutely know, what we are t talking about.!!! Ice- Maiden. Been and Gone But Never forgotten. XXX
After all these years this is still a great song. Great to see Cozy Powell again R.I.P.
One of the most exciting, powerful songs in the history of rock
The pop on that outro guitar solo is OUTSTANDING!!!
I love this old shit. It never gets old. True gem!!!
I never get tired of this song! Purely awesome.
Graham Bonmet was one of the top vocalists of the era.
He still is!
Looks like a young Jim Carrey 😉
Rainbow was one of the most underrated legendary band ever.
One of my favorite bands of all time.. My teen years, Grew up with them!
Since jr high, i've listened to this, and at 56, i STILL love it! Combat vet, former cop and retired now-STILL ROCKING!
Thank you for your service...ALL of it. God bless you. Keep rocking!
I WANT TO GO BACK IN TIME.
Thank you Marvel and James Gunn for introducing the young gen to these classical gems ✨
