Enjoyed watching the escalating adventures of the Sledaddicz this season. Looking forward to the next season, with more adventures captured by our two heroes... hahaha. Great end to another Sledaddicz video season! Enjoyed every episode.
i have the same sled and absolutely had a blast on mine this year. we went into some very deep spots and always left with a smile and a bit sweatier. i have ordered another G5 for next season cant wait.
I have a BCXRS on order as well and excited to try it out. My only concern is ski width. Did you run the skis at 40" width or did you keep the skis centered which makes it 39"? I guess if I find it too tippy on the trail I can buy the widening kit. The one thing that stood out is the ergos. Glad they are different than the XRS. I felt the same thing when I sat on a BCXRS at a show, felt very similar to my Assault which I love, a lot more comfortable and better sitting position for long days. I love the uncoupled skids, way more fun and playful, I will never buy a Doo trail sled again. The weight difference is real, a minimum of 40lbs difference compared to your XRS, a big reason why it feels lighter and the uncoupled skid of course. Plus I'm sure the smart shox added even more weight as well. I'm also hoping for a huge improvement in the GPS for next year and pray that a phone is not needed.
I ran the BCX on the widest setting for trail riding which is 40" when measured center to center. I can't see 3" making that much more of a difference but also need to take into account that an X will sit lower up front compared to an XRS which I got for next season. This is why I always like to ride them stock first before I start making changes. Cheers, Mike
In actuality the higher gear generally spin more then lower gears. The lower gear helps with the takeoffs from stop allowing the torque from the engine to get to the ground easier.
Great video, i have a 24 bc xrs 146 spring ordered. However my dealer has a 23 renegade xrs with smart shocks sitting on the floor right now. Was back and fourth. But now the bc xrs it is!
It means it doesn't have the block in the rear of the skid which prevent the suspension from collapsing as much when you are on the throttle. This in-turn makes your front end lift off the ground more which is great for deep snow / powder riding. Cheers, Mike
Great video guys, I’ve always wondered how they handle I think the uncoupled skid would be something I’d really like, I ride a renegade 137 now and it’s so glued down in the front the fun factor has kind of mellowed for me so last minute my dealer had a bcxrs cancellation a few weeks ago so I’m swapping my order to it instead of another renegade, I better like it Mike or I’m holding you responsible😀 keep the videos coming love them.
Right on! You'll love it! The fun factor is next-level! You'll have to let me know what you think once you get some seat time. Thanks for watching and enjoy the new BCXRS! Cheers, Mike
I had had 3 Assaults--but feel I couldn't trust Polaris motors, etc--so I alway sold them in 1-2 years. I have a Lynx Rave coming--then saw an available neomint green BC XRS at my dealer last week, read about all the improvements not only Gen 5, but new steering rack and revamped suspension--so I grabbed it. I honestly feel I wont need my Rave with the ability this sled has especially in 2024 revamped form.
Yep. I think you made a smart choice and it will be interesting to see how the new BC in a G5 feels on the snow. I like the Lynx but I just can't deal with red sleds lol....cheers, Mike
Great review after looking at this video now looking at 2023 assault boost wonder is this sled in the same league as the skidoo exipidition Christopher OttawA now sledding over will be getting my corvette out plus planning first inbord hydtoplane race event in mid July at Valley Field quebec. Would like to extend invitation to any Sledadicz folks to attend mid July, google HRL race Valley field 2023
Thanks Christopher! The Boost is an absolute animal! Can't go wrong with one of those as long as they hold together. Not sure about comparing to an expeditedition though. Two very different sleds and sounds like fun with your vette and the boat racing! Cheers, Mike

Great season guys! I dont think i missed a video. Got an 850 XCR on order and already counting down the days until next winter.
You have to brake perfectly into the corner to shift your weight but that's part of the fun.
Agreed! Active riders only! Cheers, Mike

Yep it was an eye opener and just nice to try something different after so many years and miles on gades. Gonna be a long summer! 😴 Cheers, Mike

Sweet! Ur gonna love that sled! Cheers, Jesse
Hey, what’s an “uncoupled skid”?
I’m new to sledding, learning lots from your videos. Thanks.

What length bergstrom carbides did you use?
6" triple points
How hard was it to change the handle bar grips?
Not too hard! Just alot of heat and the grips slide right off. Cheers, Mike
Thanks
