I ran the 154 BC XRS 850 this year. I found the 154 also handles the twisty trails just fine. Found it precise and comfortable in the bumps. I also found lowering the shock clickers softer made a big difference. Great sled Awesome color unfortunately we did not get much snow here in the north east this year. Looking forward to next year
Thanks Mike, love the channel. Struggling with the choice between the 43in and 39in in the 2025 XRS. Any thoughts? Is side hilling still possible in a 43?
If you are going to be doing more off trail and sidehilling, definitely go with the 39. We are using them more on flat trails with lots of snow, carving and not much in the way of hills here, so the 43 is what I've been waiting for. Hope this helps and thanks for supporting the channel! That was my biggest fear when they introduced the longer front arm on C motion II. I said to myself they’re going to do the exact same thing as what they did to the renegade and Deyell out the transfer to make it better on trail!! Hated it. I also truly believe that skidoo and Lynx are categorizing themselves to make it easier for consumers to pick one over the other. I think you’ll see in the next few years Skidoo being promoted as the trail weapon flat corners hard with no transfer. And the Lynx is going to be your fun dirtbike. My Lynx Xterrain transfers way harder and higher than my son’s 146 free ride. I love my Lynx can’t see me ever going back to the skidoo side. I like always love your content but you guys need to order our Lynx’s!!! she’s a wild animal that needs to be tamed
I have the same sled in black I like everything except the seating position I’m 6.2 I find my knees are always into the front plastic very uncomfortable for me and I’m always sliding forward which wedges my jewels I’m always adjusting them unfortunately I’m going back to Polaris they fit and feel much better for me
I installed the ski-doo knee pads on my 2022 backcountry X 850 and it's much more comfortable for the knees'. I did the same thing when I got my brand new 2006 mxzx 550f. I put over 10,000 miles on that sled and the engine was never rebuilt. My brother bought it from me and he loves it. I never took my backcountry X off the trailer this winter since there was no snow in my area.😢
"Gone are the old days of adjusting rebound and compression". I can't believe you are happy to lose rebound damping adjustments. "Takes all the guesswork out". Might as well ditch the 3 position adjuster as well, less guesswork. I love the channel but sometimes I don't understand your thinking. Quit drinking the BRP Koolaid and call it the way it is. They make awesome stuff, but they screw up a lot. They took away rebound adjustment, they screwed up the left hand switch gear, the phone has to be connected to the machine and BRP Go has a lot of bugs... as a leading information channel for snowmobiling, call it the way it is, no sugar coating. Lay into BRP when they screw up. Just offering constructive criticism...
Thanks for your feedback. We can agree to disagree. The large majority of people that messed with clickers for rebound, likely got them to a point and set them and left them. It would take time to dial them in and most people don't want the hassle. Smartshocks are the exact same idea and make it simple for the majority of riders to obtain a GREAT ride without messing with all of the settings. ALL of the manufacturers have moved in this direction - not just BRP and not 'drinking any kool-aid'. The good news for you is you can install older KYB shocks or go Elka's or something like that if you feel it's beneficial for you. None of the newer shocks out there from any manufacturer gives you that much adjustability anymore for a reason. I want to spend my time riding and not adjusting.......thanks. Cheers, Mike
Ah, my Lynx Rave does and there way more capable than a heavy smartshock, dialing shocks isn't rocket science but you do need to know what does what. @@sledaddicz
To add on to what Mike said.. we have also called out Ski-Doo many times on BRP GO and the connectivity issues. We have always been honest about that. In terms of shock adjustments I agree with what Mike is saying. For majority of guys less is more and that's why the industry is going in that direction. Cheers, Jesse
I think there are 2 reasons that people are buying black sleds, First, those optional colors only appeal to a small group of people, Second, at $20,000 for a base sled, and close to $30,000 for a top optioned model, you can save a couple hundred bucks on a feature that does not affect performance. that money can be spent on gas, oil, carbides, ect.
I agree on the first point but still think a lot of it has to do with black being a classic look that you can never go wrong with. I think the colours are cool and I'm no spring chicken! Thanks for watching. Cheers, Mike
Colours rule! So tired of blackout packages - in all motorsports. Adding a colour is only 1-2% to purchase price. Also resale is better. Coloured sleds go first…..ask a dealer.
@@sledaddicz I don't disagree, the colors are cool, but also if you going to Wrap a sled, black is the way to go. I also think that yellow should always be an option for SkiDoo, its the classic color! I bought a black one because yellow was not an option.

I prefer ski-doo going back to an all yellow sled like they used to in the 1960s-1970s.
