As someone who suffered through watching this, I can safely say that the 2010 live-action Marmaduke is Whiplash compared to this one.

Well, at least the live action version wasn't THIS gross and inappropriate. Also, Netflix gave up Bone, Wings of Fire adaptation and other good projects for THIS?! Should've just stuck with the 2d art style of the comic like the 80s Garfield did with its comic or just leave itself alone. To make matters worse, the author would be rolling in his grave if he saw what became of his character. For shame on you, Netflix executives. For shame 😡

I'm glad shows like Hilda, Dragon Prince, and Sonic Prime aren't made by Netflix's animation studio. Same with the Green Eggs and Ham cartoon.

I could like the franchise,but i'm not that stupid to notice from Miles away that with only the trailer You can already see that the intended plot Will be the exact same thing as the first series:
-Ted stupidly giving up all his hopes and dreams,all the time spended to be at the top wasted because he was too lazy to try to manage his time to both be the CEO of a multi million dollar company that manages something with vital importance to the world and be a part of a family (which btw,he managed to do at the end of the second movie,as seen in the extra content of the physical version,he was able to visit his family every night after work)
-animation with garbage Quality
-side characters that get less and less relevance troughtout the series (Even though this time they should have been the Main protagonists)
-most of the characters commting the same mistakes as in the first series
I doubt that this series would ever have good enough reception without being totally Made again from scratch
There was great ideas,like exploring what babycorp used to be before any kind of automatization or the origins of it,or also the origins of tina (and why she choosed family over everything else) or maybe,what happened if a baby ever gets rejected (meaning that when the machine that makes a test to see if a baby belongs in babycorp or in a family fails to make a decission)
There's SO many ideas ,but they had to do the exact same thing
And to make matters worse,they had to overrate it so much that it would probably become the next ttgo of animation
I mean, on the other hand, I don't want to see a WoF series from company that approves crap like this.

Also, I follow the show runner and some other people involved with the series on twitter and they were so passionate about the project and I have no doubt the series would have been made with love. That's another frustrating thing about this whole thing, 70 animators and employees lost their job because of Netflix... I hope, if someone else picks the show, that they will all be allowed back on the team ❤️

Honestly, you could make a touching, warm slice of life movie with something like Marmaduke. No gimmicks, no forcing gags, just people living with their dog, from the perspective of the dog. Perhaps exploring how animals see us? It wouldn’t be high art, but it could be simple and sweet. Something comfy that you bust out hot chocolate and a warm blanket for, with the possibility of a fireplace.
I remember watching the movie actually. The only scene I can really remember is when the dad goes “kids… never do this in your driving test” and then flips a big 180 in the middle of the street cus Marmaduke was drowning in a sewer somewhere.
Their first issue is that they didn’t put Owen Wilson in it
I honestly feel so sorry that Bone *still* could've been a thing and It was still the OG Gravity Falls before it was way cooler, but this movie here makes the live action movie look like Movie Sonic 2!

It is really sad Netflix is forgoing great animation projects for things akin to Boss Baby. I myself am still miffed it got nominated for best picture over Captain Underpants, what the heck is up with these higher ups???? Every time I think about the movie, I think about how ‘our hero’ almost kills the baby by trying to launch him out a window because his overactive imagination overpowered him.

@@nomoredlc593 It's all right if you didn't like it (and nice simile btw, I love The Owl House!) and yes, the source material is from the first four books of the same title [Captain Underpants] thrown into a blender! It doesn't take as much from the second and third books but their elements are still given the time of day. The primary focus is on the first book (CU's origin) and the fourth book (the villain, Professor Poopypants).
I'd say Captain Underpants is one of those series you either really like or really despise.

I would have been glad that Netflix purged the majority of its upcoming projects, since they sounded like garbage anyway, but the fact that projects that actually sounded good like the Bone cartoon got scrapped yet this and the Boss Baby show were okay is just proof that nothing these companies do surprises me anymore.
And let us not forget, this was the same company that allowed a movie that (insert word that rhymes with hex)ualized LITTLE FREAKING GIRLS to be on their platform!

This was briefly shown in a screenshot, but a TV show based on the Wings of Fire books/graphic novels also got canned. Both fans of that series and the Warrior Cats fandom are pretty rightfully pissed (since Sutherland was involved in making earlier WC books, and both fandoms have been starved for movie adaptations lol).
I was already pretty disappointed with that, but then I found out Bone was getting an animation production, and I am truly heartbroken. I remember snagging those graphic novels from my elementary school's library time and time again. :(

Like seriously what the hell that has about on par with Sony decision to Shelf the Popeye movie for "everybody favorite" movie to bash into the ground for how trash it is The Emoji movie.

This movie just makes me love and appreciate "The peunuts movie" more for being Amazing and actually a Good and loyal adaptation to a comic strip,and thats from someone Who Just went to see It because It had Snoopy in It (i never readed any peunuts comic strip i Just like Snoopy and his Bird friend)

And also, Netflix released Bubble before Japan did. That movie's actually amazing, it's almost like Netflix never lost it's damn mind when scaling back the quality of their animation output.
Can't tell you how touched I was to see you include the Wings of Fire cancelation, it really broke my heart as someone who has read this series for their childhood into adulthood. It would have been great 😭

I was so upset when I saw that the bone show could have happened after a saw it was canceled.
And the fact we got this instead turns that upsetting feeling to anger
I think the original comic could have been adopted well. But for that the dogs, that includs the titel character, should not talk, needs to focus more on the body language of the animals, more realistic look for the animation, and character designs, the dogs should act like dogs, and not having fethis stuff in it. It would be a movie that people who have dogs, and love them would love, but no it had to be a generic bad movie. And as someone who want's to work with animation, because of Netflix decisions, genuenly sceard for the medium, and worry about how my enjoyer will treat me as an animater. But even if Netflix animation is dumbed there are independent studios everywhere, or choseing indi (sorry if I misspelled it) animation can be an answer. I mean more creativ freedom, fear pay, better time menegment, and better work contitions. It sounds good. (Sorry for the grammar, and spelling mistakes, English is not my first language.)

If you want to see an actually good streaming service original animated thing with Pete Davidson, check out The Freak Brothers. It's a really funny and enjoyable animated series that deserves more attention.

Marmaduke was never meant to be for the movies. The comic strips were made to be silly because a lot of us can relate to dogs that cause trouble but still have heart. We don't need to watch a movie about it.
Reason why Peanuts work on the big screen is because the audience generally want to know more about the characters and their worlds. We already know who Marmaduke is, we don't need to be told more about the dog.
I grew up on the live action movie of marmaduke, I ABSOLUTELY HATE THIS MOVIE. Everything you said is so true this movie is absolutely ugly and deserves to burn in the deepest depths that it came from. I didn’t last 5 minutes watching before I wanted to delete my Netflix history.
I remember the movie. Albeit Erod's review. I still regret knowing that movie exists and knowing this one survives that it should've been buried in a Wal-mart Bargain. Movies like this makes me appreciate more and more family movies that put effort into them. This goes to a list of movies you show to film students on what NOT NOT to do.

Bruh, I had a whole bored fest watching this and I had to see it for myself and it was pain. It is a shame how Netflix doesn't care about good animated shows and movies that are struggling to find a studio to be distributed and I thought that Netflix could do better than that and considering they gave us Arcane and Cuphead show I only tune in just to watch that.

You know what's funny? I saw this on the front page of Netflix, it was at the tippity top and it was literally the first thing I saw when booting up the platform. It played a preview and I didn't even need to watch the whole movie to know it was hot garbage. From the 30 seconds I saw, the acting was garbage, the animation was garbage, the characters were garbage, everything about it was garbage. I had a feeling someone would make a video about it and I was right, I shortly stumbled upon this video and Raisor reacted exactly how I expected him to.
How it hit top 10 is beyond me but I think it's an unspoken rule that if I don't even have to watch a minute of your movie to know it's bad and to know that other people feel the same way, then it's bad. I wouldn't call it the worst movie ever because the worst movie ever would have you feel nothing from start to finish and Marmaduke definitely made me feel something during the 30 seconds I did watch it, but if I had to rate it then I wouldn't because this movie is so bad it doesn't even deserve a rating and even if it did I'd give it a -10/10.

Those two films were supposed to release in 2020, but it was delayed due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
One movie that was bad and not much effort, which we all know is Marmaduke
while the other movie, despite the meh writing, had so much effort with the animation, the voice acting, the tense, the moments and everything else! I'm talking about Nahuel y el Libro Mágico (or Nahuel and the Magic Book in english)!
This is one of the very rare instances where the *live-action version* was better than the animated version! 😅
