    Is it the same Hood or not? What do you think?

      Headgear and lenses are interchangeable and have damn near the same specs ... They are made out of the same materials

      The Vulcan line are Chinese knock offs. Vulcan reverse engineered to save money rather than engineered. The difference comes in the lens itself. The quality of the optics are the biggest difference.

      It's not exactly the same but you will not be dissapointed! Nice hood for the money!

    The difference has to be in the quality of the lens. Do a arc view comparison so we can see the difference in the lens. 👍

    Great video, I have a Miller, Jackson, and the new HF Vulcan, the Vulcan blows away the other two by a lot, I like that it does not have the yellow tint when welding, the bluish tint is much crisper. I almost bought the Lincoln 3350 since it has many top reviews by real users but for $125 you can not beat the HF Vulcan! I will be the first one to tell you if the Vulcan is a piece of crap but so far so good!

      Thanks for sharing that brother. I don't own the vulcan but i have heard great things about it and if i was in the market again then i would definitely choose the vulcan over the Viking for half the price lol. I really appreciate you watching and commenting it means a lot.

      Man, I bought the Vulcan a while back and I am shocked that HF did it this well. It keeps up with Lincoln or Miller imo. Now - ask me how my HD grinders compare to my DeWalt and Makita and I'll tell you they are clearly inferior - BUT not this helmet - I think the Vulcan helmet is a steal !! I paid $120 for the Vulcan with coupon ( Google "Vulcan" coupons to get the 20% off coupon)

    You're comparing the Vulcan to the Viking 3350, which is why the viewing area is much larger on the 3350. If you compare the Vulcan to the Viking 2450, they'll have nearly identical viewing areas.

    Been running the vulcan for a couple of months now. Been flashed a few times bc the lack of arc sensitivity. But I do work in a production shop. It's used 50 hours a week at least. That said, I'm buying a 3350 before Christmas as a gift to myself. Vulcan will work great for hobbyists and occasional use but if you're full time, I'd go with the Lincoln.

      I’m in school with a Vulcan hood and get flashed unless I’m right at the instructors side during demos. Buying a 2450 adv. kind of good knowing you could hide your expensive lens in a Vulcan hood if it wasn’t for the external grind button I’d probably just buy a lens module and put in my current hood.

    I just bought the Vulcan arc-safe with I believe a 10.1 viewing area. I used the one we had at the shop. Do not know the other brand but this one is bad ass. I can actually see my line to weld and not just my pool.

    Where the real extra cost goes in the lincoln is more than likely the quality lense, technology inside, warranty, and research and development. The plastic shell and headband are more likely made by a separate company that has the tooling to make plastic injection molding

    I’ve been using the Vulcan for 4 four months now, 9 hours per day an it’s flawless where using it is concern. It’s very comfortable, light weight and has a nice viewing area. I’m planning an buying the Lincoln Viking 3350 4C helmet as it has a bigger display and a more refine quality compared to the Vulcan helmet. The 4C technology is top notch.

  • @goodpath9658
    @goodpath9658 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for sharing, but the most important part of comparing the two welding helmets for me is how the two helmets function. How do the puddles look when using the 2 helmets. I want to know what is the difference between seeing the puddles as you proceed. I am not as concerned if the helmets look exactly alike structually. The question is, what is the functional difference of the quality in what you’re seeing as one welds.

    Most welding helmets have parts made in Asia, different companies buy different components and assemble them in USA/ UK etc. Go on Aliexpress for any replacement part. Same with smartphones, those cameras are made by Samsung or some Asian company. Very few parts are inhouse. Even apple share same screens and tech. just different combos of tech.

    I’ve come back to say it is probably not the same helmet or at least not the same insert as the Lincoln Electric. I say this because I can’t TIG weld with my Vulcan helmet, it doesn’t pick up the low arc of the TIG like it does for everything else and I get flash blinded ever few seconds even with a brand new battery. So for now I’m forced to flux, MIG and Stick weld everything 😢. Saving up for a real good hood that doesn’t blind me.

My instructor in my welding course told me i could not use the Vulcan in class, it has 0 UV protection, apparantly HF cheapest out on the coating, hence the lower price!...talked to harbor freight and they are giving me store credit!
