Thanks for the great walk-thru. I'm a new welder but a lifelong maker. My strategy after doing stuff for 4 decades is to buy the best tools I can afford at the time. After looking at a lot of helmets I was pretty sold on the original 3350. When I stumbled on this adv version today I was hooked ! Just ordered one w/ cheater lenses from your shop. This is a really awesome update for the Viking line. I have always wanted a light and fan inside the helmet. I just don't think and this is my experience with the older helmets buttons getting hot BB's and melting into inside the helmet I just wonder how long the digital display and the hole new plate section will hold up without a cover or something to protect it. Time will tell I guess I'll wait otherwise I would have purchased.
Thanks for watching! Lincoln ran the digital display through some rigorous tests so I think it will hold up. Plus they are backed by the 5-year warranty when most hoods are 3. Also, a few competitors have had the screen for a while with no issues. The big thing with the Lincoln display is that it is probably the best designed for functionality that we have seen! I often grab my torch when welding on my car resto, this would be great freeing up my hands. I don’t suppose they thought to add charging circuitry to the light so it stores some energy in that AA by chance? That would have been a smart move.
Just git this a few days ago and i am realy liking it so far. Had to replace my 8 year old 3350. This is definitely an upgrade. My only issue so far is that i can connect to ny phone through Bluetooth. I have the app, and i can see the number i need to put in from the helmet. But the app doesn't see it. Im using a 22 ultra, any help with this would be great.
The helmet won’t connect to the phone if you try to pair it inside their Bluetooth settings like you would for a pair of wireless headphones. You will need to forget the device, open the app (Gear Point), and pair the helmet to the phone inside the app. Give us a call if you are still having issues!
@BakersGas, so I did figure it out. What I needed to do is split screen with the app in one window and my Bluetooth settings in the other. When I looked for the helmet, and hit it in my Bluetooth, it then showed up in the app. Figure I'd let you know just in case someone else has this issue.
Is there any difference in weight between this 3350 ADV vs the previous generations? the more stuff they put on here def puts more strain on the neck if you have to face down on your welds
I have to Lincoln 3350 and a Miller digital Infinity. I fucking hate that Miller!💩 I personally feel the Miller is worse than the Lincoln in every category I consider important in a quality welding hood. I actually just let one of the new guys we hired a month ago to feed the robotic welder he uses it every day. It's better than his Harbor Freight Hood, but not by much. Before that, it was basically a shop hood🤷🏻😂
I've been a full time welder for 8 years and I had the miller digital infinity. Loved the thing at first but realized it was heavy ASF, the inside lens got metal chips and dust in it, not to mention the inside lens fogging up constantly which was a pain to clean. The headgear was also dog. I have a 3350 adv coming in the mail but the best helmet I've ever used so far is the jackson truesight 2. Looks badass, lightweight, great display and buttons, doesn't fog up inside the lens area, great headgear, every outside lens comes with a new rubber seal, and has air vents in the inside lens so you can blow it out without removing it. The whole hood is perfectly simplistic which makes it less prone to parts breaking. I highly recommend that hood over any other but we'll see how the 3350 holds up to it
Yes, the mag lenses and outside lenses are the same! The inside lenses are the ONLY consumable that is a bit different! Let us know if you have any other questions.
The helmet only needs to be SYNC'd if you make changes via the app. So if you did not have time to SYNC you could just adjust on the screen on the helmet. If you wanted to SYNC just takes a moment but does have to be near your phone to connect.

I wish the adv. had more available graffic options. I've had my 3350 zombie for close to nine years. It's been great, but time for a change.

The app n push pad is kinda unnecessary but the light and 5yr warranty is a selling point

Yes, the mag lenses and outside lenses are the same! The inside lenses are the ONLY consumable that is a bit different! Let us know if you have any other questions.

Wish they would come out with a common sense lense gasket. Changing the outer lense and slipping it inside the gasket is time consuming and ridiculous
