Once you get to a certain age, you realize that "whipped" really means "I'm saying this to you because I'm so lonely and I just want someone to love me like you have."
Not always. I have a friend who's quit multiple well paying jobs because his wife doesn't want him earning more than him. He's also "not allowed" to hang out with me anymore because I encourage him to make his own decisions.
Unfortunately, some people are really that controlling.

I feel like that's an extreme version of it. It could also be someone who just has no self-respect. Like, for example, there is something they really want to do but the S/O shoots it down and they immediately cave and give up on it. Everything is done based on what the S/O wants. That's what I think of when I think of someone being whipped.

Yeah, basically all of their skits for some time now, some are funny, most aren't, but at least entertaining enough to watch them from time to tjme.
They do still do the less predictable skits but most of those go to their streaming service now. While I certainly don't blame you for your frustration you gotta admit it seems savvier to save their best material for people who are paying them directly.
