Today we test the new Ridgid Right Angle Impact Wrench & Driver Models R8720B & R87730B vs the latest Amazon SeeSii WHA300 and past models from SKIL, Kobalt and Milwaukee M12.
Is the new hotness also the top hotness or just charging too much to be the "latest"

The SKIL is trolling us right now with the KIT being $69 amzn.to/44pSrYy which is less than a 2Ah Ridgid battery from Home Depot. If you have tasks that require speed, their new RA Impact wrench should be the hottest kid in town though mixed with the most torque. Nice bit of kit.

PLEASE do tests on the 12v HIGH OUTPUT Milwaukee batteries. The real world differences I have been seeing are pretty crazy for just a new battery.
@@d00kiejones they already did. 5.0s weren't doing anything remotely impressive vs the older M12 6.0 on the impact wrench.
@@jaywelker5566 I guess youtube decided not to show me that one. my 6.0s must be trashed if they dont do better
@@jaywelker5566 Small impacts maybe aren't the end all be all to measuring the difference a battery makes as the motor is disconnected to the output via a spring & hammer. We have both M12 HO types now, so we can surely do more with like drills, saws, die grinders as we buy them.
Did we try those Walmart 12vs yet? Hyper tough or whatever. Dewalt rebrand I think.
can you do wrong angle impacts next?
No but I’m sure left angle impacts are up next

Chevy tech here, I use a rigid right angle for exhaust manifold bolts a lot of the time and I’m super satisfied with it
I think a big consideration should be ergonomics. I've got the Milwaukee M12, and having the battery in the handle not only gives it good balance, but allows you to get in some pretty tight spaces. While I haven't used the other ones tested, battery placement definitely seems like it should be a consideration given what this type of tool is designed for.
This is actually exactly why I have a mix of M12 and Dewalt 12v. For certain tools like a rachet I prefer the battery in the handle and won't use the bigger batteries because they mess up the ergonomics. But on some of the other tools such as a standard drill or impact I prefer the standard dewalt 12v ergonomics.
Stupid. Ergonomics don't matter if it doesn't get the fastener off
The rigid main feature is the lifetime replacement on batteries. They deserve some points for that, IMO as I believe they're the only brand offering it.

Once again, you guys come through with a solid video that motivates a purchase. Just now, I was able to get the Seesi off amazon for $99 minus a $10 promotional discount, coming to 96 with tax, same day delivery. Very excited for this, as I'm finishing up a transmission swap in my truck and a right angle would have been useful a long time ago.
Was a little worried for my beloved skil but very happy with the continuing results.
It'd be cool to see the IR Right Angle Impact. Also, thanks for all this great testing. I love watching these videos!!!
Dude these videos are awesome. I'd love to see a video on Impact sockets next.
I just love these real apples to apple no BS tests!! Thanks
Yeah, I mentioned the Skil being $69 a few days ago on the channel. As for the Kobalt impact wrench. It was $99 as a kit some weeks ago and I... "like" it? They put the money into performance for sure but I hate missing the modes. On/Off tools require some finesse at times. But for impact wrenches, where you'll mainly be removing, it's not a big deal considering it doesn't produce a wild amount of beans.
I have had the Skil right angle ever since I saw the old vid on it. I have a few other Skil tools now too. For a tool that gets used maybe once a month, I absolutely recommend it.
I had the Craftsman Nextec 12v tools and loved their right angle impact. It was great for removing bodywork from cars, which you have to do to change headlamp bulbs and even some filters. I didn't know much about power tools back then. It was just what they had at Sears. I took it for granted. Years and years later, I looked for right angle impact and came up almost empty. Skil 12v offered it, was a bit wary, but I'm glad I bought into their system. Great little 12v lineup.
I’ve used the skil now for over a year. Been pleasantly surprised. I’m fighting arthritis and the skill batteries are easier to deal with than the m-12’s that I have.
Love these tests.
Thank you for testing rigid. I wish skil would make a right angle impact to see if they could become champs of that as well
Excellent information. Thanks for sharing!
I have the 3/8 kobalt right angle but I think I’m going to grab a ridgid 1/2 right angle. Great stuff TTC!!
Scored the kobalt about a month ago when you could get it for $100 with a 4ah, 2ah and a charger included. For that price you really can’t go wrong.
Same, I'm super happy with the purchase
@@kencooley5589 yep should make certain jobs (like removing brake calipers) a breeze

I have had it for going on 2 years. It has held up to a lot of shop use..solid tool for the money.
That's a killer deal!!!! I wish
Yesss!!! Was waiting for this!
Thank you so much for this video متشکرم از شما آقای محترم
Would like to see that air versions of these like the ingersoll rand 2015max tested. Thanks
The light on the skil is also pretty great, when you're jammed up between two joists trying to get a screw to bite it's very nice. I could live without it, but I appreciate it. Good to see more brushless offerings however (maybe cheaper next time TTI).
Someone convince Dewalt to make one that is entirely too torquey.
I have the ridgid jobmax with all of the head attachments including a right angle impact driver. It’s not the best at anything but perfect for small specialty stuff. Bought the tool and every attachment for about $300.
I'm in the Ridgid platform so this is awesome for me...a few ft/lb one way or the other is negligible..these are handy for mechanics regardless of the platform...
NGL the SeeSii if you have batteries already for $100 isn't bad...
I wonder if the IR 20v right angle impact makes the 🫘 be cool to see in your testing. Awesome stuff guys keep it up love the comparisons.
Great job guys. I wonder if you'd be interested in installing a Flowmeter (like a Dwyer Rate Master) in your air delivery setup after the regulator. Might be nice to get some real-time data on air flow demand.
What air flow? (Not being a d**k serious question
@@danielfrazier840guessing for the pneumatic tests

The driver would be a good choice for hard to reach pocket hole screws. You can’t use a ton of power on those or they’ll blow out your pocket, which. Is why you’re supposed to use a drill and a low clutch setting. Great info, Torque.
Best thing for those is the multi head drivers
There is an Ingersoll Rand right angle impact that would be interesting to compare
Ridgid has been hitting a lot of good hits lately. Wait until the new large impact comes out.
I have been going back and forth on buying the M12 right angle impact, it is not cheap, $200 is a lot of money for me and I am sure some other people. I was glad I got to see you test it. Thanks for sharing.
I have that seesi but different branding.
I turned the head around for more useability.
I like my Milwaukee 3/8 right angle impact, I was grabbing it daily for last couple months to pull belly pans on excavators , its not sounding good after this week, probably should pull the cover and see if I can add grease! I've had the stubby since it came out, 2018? She runs daily, I love that m12 stubby
Can yall test heat guns, I wanna see how big of a difference price makes when buying one
Would love to see right angle drills, including the new flex right angle drill/hole saw
i really wish you'd do more forward tests. those are quite important in my field.
I agree !!!
have you ever tested the ingersoll rand right angle cordless impact?
I have the 3/8 Milwaukee wrench. I use it at work daily for about 1 year now and have had zero problems.
Mine is around 6 months old and the gears got really noisy this last week. I use it daily pulling belly pans on excavators, it fits over the track where the stubby is a tad to long.
How are they both doing now, or what happened?
Hello can you recommend a cordless impact wrench more specifically a Dewalt that is good for removing lug nuts and working on a car suspension and also for that spring compression tool you rent for auto zone
Right angle impact drivers are neat but for most cases I would settle for an adapter for a standard impact.
Next thing they'll have is 45 degree. Or for that matter just a strain out impact for deep light duty work
As an electrician I use the M12 impact as it can fit through a 4" can hole. Also the. M18 didn't impress me much, as the M12 right angle impact gun3/8 was disappointed. And I'm team red!
Australia's bottom end is Ozito, as a function of cost it is quite ok for the home enthusiast. Surprised to see the Milwaukee falling back!
Only thing your missing is the ingersoll rand right angle. I have one which your welcome to test if you would like.
I will have the new 20v seal ratchet soon. My Mac Tools dealer said they have 260+ at the wearhouse. The 12v not available yet. If I get it before you I’ll let you know for you to test.
I'm glad I bought the Kobalt impact wrench with two batteries and charger for $99. This just confirm my choice again. Milwaukee want $200 for just the tool.
Yeah, because I looked this weekend and it'd be $300 now to purchase the same. Tool is $150 by itself, batteries and charger are another $150.
As a control for the right angle impact drivers, could you run the Dewalt right angle impact adapter with a regular impact driver?
What about the Ingersoll rand right angle? And all the air right angle ones out there
Am i crazy for thinking the switch on these right angle impact wrenches should also be 90 degrees to the anvil? Just feels like it would be more erginomic
Recomiendas más la llave de impacto de ángulo recto R 8720b de Ridges , es mejor que la llave de Impacto Milwaukee??? Para ir corriendo por esa Ridges????
Idea for a future video - an in-depth nerd-out on how you calibrate the various test rigs. Full geek-dive on how you can be confident the latest test results are directly comparable to the older tests.
From ep1:
1) Pull out a new or used bolt and nut and check its thread quality by running a new nut over it by hand, if it's ify measure stretch and replace if need be (5-10 a year)
2) New grease to threads and backside of bolt head and grade 9 washer. If it's a new bolt, 5 beak in runs and re-apply new grease.
3) Test an IR231H to make sure it makes 440-460ft-lbs. If not, make sure gauge is within calibration to 3 known tool "standards" we have on hand.
4) Test 3 working torque tests, middle/median test is shown on screen. For cordless as long as the battery shows full charge each time we don't re-charge. Charge battery when done, allow tool to cool.
5) Test 3 Max torque tests, median is shown on screen. As long as the battery shows full charge each time we don't re-charge. Charge battery when done, allow tool to cool.
6) Test Best Case Scenario at higher pressure for air or fresh off the charger each time and in the FWD direction as well for cordless. Best value is shown on screen.
This what I been wanting to see
Could you PLEASE do 1/4” cordless extended length ratchets⁉ I need one for pulling apart interiors…
We dont have a 1/4" socket that would fit the dyno bolt
When is DeWalt coming out with a right angle impact?!?!?
I may not always need the R8720, but it's nice to have when I do.
I don’t understand why it wouldn’t be better just to buy the impact wrench and use an hex adapter to drive screws? In what situation would the impact driver be better?
Great content
Have the 3/8 kobalt right angle impact find it handy.
Feels like you are squishing a lot of info and testing into each vid, would have loved to seen a graph of the makita battery on the seesii,
He said he didn't because the difference is within 0-3% on the last SeeSii impact, low enough that the stat wouldn't be accurate to be a difference as the torque varies a little.
Can you test the right angle impact wrenches against the ratchets? I'd like to see how that high speed Rigid compares to some of the ratchets.
I think the tools should be tested at different amp batteries and rage.. this will give you a better view on the tool and the actual performance base in Amp and Voltage..
Having so many m12 batteries the m12 right angle is just fine.
Can you test one very weird Makita? I'm talking about Makita HP0300, which is a corded combi drill made for CIS and Middle-Eastern market. You can't find it in the official Makita catalogue but it looks very interesting on paper.
Should try testing the new m12 5.0 high output battery in the milwaukee. Mine feels like a different tool with it.
Very interesting.
I feel good about selling my used IR on Ebay for the price of these new ones. Still torn between M12 and Rigid. I have IR 20v for automotive and craftsman C3 for home tools and thinking of consolidating to Rigid 18v for both
Same bro what one did you grab and thoughts?
@@Time_In1 i got rigid 18v 1/2 high torque impact and rigid 18v 3/8 subcompact impact. Rigid subcompact is a revelation. The high torque gets job done but IR high torque is better imho. Rigid right angle impact and ratchet too heavy for the job, so bought and returned. Still have my craftsman for home improvement that i will hang on to for a bit as i build my rigid 18v
Idk how you would go about testing Torque Wrenches, but have you guys considered doing a round up of the popular digital torque wrenches? I’m sure y’all can find a way to give us tests that reflect how they’d be realistically used. I ask this because I recently saw Dewalt had released a digital torque wrench and they’re asking way too much for a rebranded Quinn. It’d be nice to see popular digital torque wrenches from all price points, and maybe one of those cheap adapter types.

Project Farm has a video for this I believe
Doesn’t Ingersoll-Rand have a cordless right angle impact wrench and they have an impact driver as well
Hilti also has both a wrench and driver offering in this category. Doesn't look super ground breaking but they're brushless and use a 22V platform.
They also have a new drill which looks like an absolute monster. Would love to see those tested. :D
I bought ridgid end of year tool kit and never looked back. Are there better? Yes, does it do what I need it to? Absolutely.
Can you test how lubricating fasteners effects the torque. I got some customers who love using antiseize on lug threads snd dont understand why they snap wheel studs. Wet brake clean, loctite, would also be an interesting one to see also.
I love using anti-seize on almost everything, but I also drop the torque by 10% to get the same clamping force
Whats my question solved today. Thanks from Thailand.
Milwaukee m12 fuel products never cease to amaze me 12v and still competing with the higher voltage competitors
That ridgid right angle impact wrench should do pretty good being it high rpm
Is there a video explaining your chart terms?
I dont see IR on the list of right angle impacts
Maybe try a right angle adapter on a normal impact driver for comparison
Ingersoll Rand makes a good right angle impact. I used it to remove old rusted exhaust bolts. Have you ever tested one of those. I have a feeling it might just beat some of those you’ve tested here. That ridged and Kobalt look like Ingersoll clones as the Ingersoll came out first.
I concur, it should have been tested with these. Ingersoll Rand makes some really nice well made heavy duty tools.
Farm project did test an ingersoll rand against these it came in third in most tests .
What about DeWalts right angle ratchet. I just got one for fathers day.
I'd like a right angle impact. Those are sick!
I’m interested in seeing if the M12 tested with the new 5.0AH HO battery would be any different from the 6.0AH XC battery.
I dont think so, to me it seems the 6.0 is better. The 5 falls short on run time, it might put out a tad more power on fresh battery, but after a couple bolts it's like running a standard 4.0. I buy up the 6.0s whenever I see a sale or miss mark. Can't beet the 2 for 89$ 6.0 I bought last 6 on shelf 😂
Hey, could you maybe test out the hyper-tough impact driver from Walmart? You've already shown the Hart but I'm thinking of getting my brother one for his birthday (he told me not to spend over $100) and he's about to start building a shed. I just want to see if it is worth it
What does 'giving it a handshake' near the head mean? Just to firmly grip the head while impacting? Just a double check thank you much for your trsting! Bought the Milwaukee
I noticed seesii makes a pruner. I wonder if it's worth $120
What about a 9amp octane on the ridgid??
The "SeeSii" brand wrench can be had as a bare tool from Taobao for $35... not including shipping.
SeeSii!!! I want it.
I may have missed it, but a good measurement would be distance of socket from trigger. If it's a tool designed to fit into tight in an engine bay and such, I want as much reach as possible without getting my hand in a tight spot
Nice to see the Kobalt is still pretty damn relevant in terms of performance, even though the other makers have now had some time to try and compete.
That Kobalt isn't old🤷♂️
Hi did you try the 5.0 ho battery on the m12
Another great vid :) I think the impact *driver* comparison of the Skil to the Ridgid may be slightly flawed since max. torque is really not what you're looking for with an impact driver, it's more *speed* you're looking for, no? Because they're typically being used to drive smaller diameter screws into wood or metal, speed is more a useful indicator of how they perform.
As for the wrench, once the Ridgid comes on sale/promo, perhaps I'll get that and sell off my lightly used M12 heh. Still wish they'd brought this out years ago--guess better late than never!
Speed matters up to a point. And I feel that both are plenty fast for the job.
Incredible test! and I agree that ridigid is good looking 🥰😄
Update with the updated battery please
Can you test cat powertools like de dx71
Hey just bought the live rank chart, can you test the diehard DH80004? It's a mid torque that I've been seeing at advance auto for $130. I'm sure you could use a coupon code too 😂
There are a number of European brands you are missing out, one of them which is used in the commercial a professional realm is Hilti. You should try their products. They do make a right angle impact wrench as well.
Mr. Torque Man, if I may make a suggestion, although Idk if its outside the scope of the channel -
Comparing sheet metal nibbler / cutters?
I don’t reckon anyone has put the name brand ones and amazon ones up to battle for comparison
Would be great to see you test the Astro Nano Max, air angle grinders and air ratchets
Pretty sure the astro nano v2 is #1 electric really lags behind on these right angle impacts I had the m18 was really gutless so I sold it and got the m12 better but the nano v2 destroys it
You should do a silly test with a right angle to right angle adapter to right angle adapter so it’s facing the same direction again lol
Haha I love it
Which Kobalt battery did you use for the test?
This is the one area where cordless cant compete with air. I have the m12 with 4.0 (I call it an impact ratchet) I grab my astro pneumatic first.
The right hand hex head bolt on the test jig is quite loose. How is that altering the results of the current tests vs the previous tests?
Both bolts are located in a "loose" thread position. They only exist so the plate doesn't fall off when we change out the center test bolt that does all the measuring.
It'd be interesting to run the right angle impacts through your rachet showdown to see how they win.
Yeahb
