    One last detail I forgot to mention:
    Yes, I do game, but mostly RPGs and platformers. Given that I'm using an older laptop with HDMI out, I won't be able to take advantage of anything above 60hz anyway, which is why I'm not bothering with TN panels. However, it's still nice to have a monitor than has smooth movement when playing any game at 60hz.

    Hi! If I were to use this monitor for photo editing, should I calibrate it in the "Standard" preset or should I use the "sRGB" preset?

    • @PCMonitors
      @PCMonitors  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The sRGB mode uses the full factory calibration, as covered in the review - pcmonitors.info/reviews/dell-u2417h-u2417ha/#Calibration. It also locks off colour channels, which may need adjusting on your unit. Ideally you'd use your own colorimeter and calibrate in the 'Standard' setting. If you don't have a colorimeter try the sRGB mode and see how you get on.

      @@PCMonitors thanks a lot!! Yes I did go through your review in the link. It was very detailed and helpful. The thing is that I do not own a colorimeter so I'd have to do it with the built-in process in Windows 10. I found the sRGB preset to be a little too warm and more emphasis on the Red channel.

      @@saurabhss5184 So what did you finally go with? I'm also a graphic designer.

    Hey @PC Monitors,
    I have an old Dell 2004FPW that just developed a few annoying dead pixels and I'm looking at this as the replacement.
    Because I still occasionally go lan gaming, can you tell me if the mount on the back of the screen is likely to fit the stand from the old monitor? (Basically are Dell stands interchangeable?)
    Thanks,
    Alex.

      Dell have a few different 'bracket' designs that have changed over the years, so it probably won't fit.

    I've been going through a difficult process over the last few days, trying to pick out a proper monitor to buy.
    I'm not in the market for a TN panel, and I've mostly made up my mind on which monitors to consider: Dell S2415H, Dell U2417H, and the HP 23xw.
    I would love an informed opinion on which is the better option, and why that is. As it stands, the S2415H is looking like the better option for me, but maybe I'm missing something. For a while I even considered the HP Envy 24" monitor, but because it's discontinued and you can't really get them new, I've decided against that one.
    Any and all help is much appreciated,
    Cheers

    Hi, Do you recommend this monitor for video watching /youtube 60fps / fast motion video ? 8ms will have more blur than 5ms TN ?

    • @PCMonitors
      @PCMonitors  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      tbjerman I'd advise reading the review so you understand to look beyond misleading figures. There's a lot more to it than that and it goes in this monitors favour.

    Can it 90% pivot in both directions? (clockwise & counter-clockwise) If not, can I switch it manualy in that stand/arm?

    • @PCMonitors
      @PCMonitors  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can pivot it 90 degrees both directions, yes.

    How can I get the best picture with this monitor? I just got it yesterday. It's a beautiful monitor and I am thankful to have it. Please comment back if you can.

      Refer to the review linked to. Specifically the 'Test Settings' in the 'Calibration' section. This is really very nicely set up out of the box with its 'sRGB' preset - reducing brightness is all most users will actually need to do.

    U2417h or u2419h which is better ?

    • @PCMonitors
      @PCMonitors  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The U2419H has a better calibrated 'Custom Color' setting (which uses the full gamut). The 'sRGB' setting of both products is very well calibrated and would be suitable for colour-critical work and general usage. The main change with the U2419H aside from tighter factory calibration in 'Custom Color' is that it offers slightly slimmer bezels.

    hello there, HDMI output is 60Hz, isn't it? If I connect u2417h to PC by using HDMI cable, Can it give me the best quality? or Display Port does?

    • @PCMonitors
      @PCMonitors  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Correct. As advised in the review, as long as the colour signal is corrected the output is identical over HDMI and DP.

    • @gambling391
      @gambling391 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      PC Monitors OK. Thank you. I'm going to buy one but I'm just afraid that HDMI output is 30 Hz.

    • @PCMonitors
      @PCMonitors  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Anubis Pham It's only a Full HD monitor so HDMI is perfectly capable of 60Hz.

    How to change a gamma? PC or MAC options is so weird.

    • @PCMonitors
      @PCMonitors  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The monitor is well-calibrated for 2.2 tracking. If you require something else, that would need to be done using a colorimeter/spectrophotometer really. The only OSD options are 'PC' and 'Mac' for gamma.

    hi.. can u run this monitor @75hz (NvidiaCP) without frameskiping?
    i read your review P2416D, can 75hz without frameskiping..

    • @PCMonitors
      @PCMonitors  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately not. As mentioned in the review; "this monitor skips frames if the refresh rate is set at all above 60Hz. We will therefore not be including a section on overclocking."

      PC Monitors im looking for ips @75hz (Dell) for casual gaming.. do you recommend P2416D for me? my card 1070 should be fine right..

    • @PCMonitors
      @PCMonitors  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Some users have actually stated that their P2416D doesn't overclock to 75Hz successfully, so it seems not all can. But yes it should work nicely with a GTX 1070 (I have that GPU myself) and might be worth taking a punt at seeing as most users seem to be able to run at 75Hz without issue.

    • @vandestroy6475

      PC Monitors maybe i will take P2416D for 1440p.. n because the price in my country, P2416D more cheap than U2417H.. about bezel, i dont care.. lol...
      N thanks for respons.. 😆
