      One thing I was already a bit weary of is the resolution, wish it was a tad higher. It's kind harsh compared to the same resolution on my omen 15. I also thought it would get brighter. But still a very nice screen. Don't understand the Dell software, doesn't really do much. Also that dell profile of d6500 is way to yellow for my likings

    James - Thanks so much for the video and the Dell Monitor Naming Guide and link! I've been trying to find out the difference between the U2419H and the U2419HX, and the guide explained it beautifully....the "X" indicates that it's an Amazon model. Very helpful!

      24 inch vs 25inch. 1080p vs 1440p. And 2019 vs 2020 versions. So on paper, the U2520D looks to be a better option, but I've never seen it physically myself.

    Thanks for this, my U2719D arrived this afternoon and this was very useful helping me set it up. I aborted three previous videos par way though because they had no sound. The thing that confused me, but you didn't cover was which cables to use, what's the difference and what were they for: HTML, DP and/or the downstream USB.

    • @jcunboxing
      @jcunboxing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      General it's better to use DisplayPort if you can. The USB cable is only if you want to connect peripherals to the monitor itself such as keyboard, mouse, USB flash drive etc..

    Amazing review, thanks a lot James! Also I would like to ask you, I'm planning to get a new monitor since I started working with design, creating brands and social media templates, is this one a better choice in comparison to the P2421D for my usage? P2421D has higher resolution, but I don't really know if this would impact on color accuracy or trueness. I would appreciate if you could help me. Thanks.

  • @DesignsByMario

    Great review! I'm currently considering getting this or an entry level 1440p monitor. 1440p attracts me with the ability to fit more on the screen and with that improving productivity, but the U2419H also seems to have a bunch of great features that make it a hard decision.
    Having good colour accuracy would be helpful for me but not as needed. However having the many extra features like the great stand and the USB hub really make me want to get this over a 1440p one.
    So I guess my question would be, would you say this would be better than a cheap 1440p monitor for design work and productivity?

    • @a-carvalho8751
      @a-carvalho8751 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you are working with color in design, it would be best to prioritize color accuracy, rather than screen size. That's just my opinion.

    • @jcunboxing
      @jcunboxing  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If it was between a Dell 1440p vs this monitor, then I would say get the 1440p. But if the other monitor is not a Dell, I wouldn't get it. Personally, I just don't trust monitors outside of Dell, but that's just me :) So I would suggest deciding between a P2421D (1440p) or U2419H. I would say get the P2421D since colour accuracy is not a necessity for your work. Or if you have some more money and want a 27", you can get U2719D

    A great review complete and very useful (new subscriber is coming 😉). I would like to ask you just one thing about the audio out. I've heard you saying thta technically it should work with gaming console and so on and also to ask directly to Dell if the audio out works with speaker.
    I have read lots of forum and also the manual guide: someone says that should work, like you, but someone says that it only work with Dell soundbar; finally in the manual guide Dell says it doesn't work with headphones.
    So I am asking to you if you were able to test this function (putting a speaker on that port) and if external speakers work with this monitor. Thanks.

    Great video start to finish!! I researched monitors for many hours because there are so many options and ended up purchasing this to pair with my HP Pavillion laptop. Maybe it's because its my first monitor so I had nothing to compare to previously but the screen is a disappointment. I find the picture to be flat, not clear or "ultrasharp" like the name says. When sitting 3 feet away all I notice are the pixels on text both small and large and the video not super clear. I'm using HDMI and have tried different settings. Is it the anti glare screen coating that makes the picture look flat and dull? My HP laptop appears to have a glossier screen like my phone and TV which makes the picture pop. I understand I didn't buy a $1,000 4K monitor but in 2020 from Dell I had higher expectations for basic picture and text clarity. Is this common with monitors at this price range?

    • @jcunboxing
      @jcunboxing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Many things could factor but I think from what you're describing it's a combination of the anti-glar coating and the pixel density that is causing you to think things are clear. Perhaps it's because you're comparing it to your phone or laptop which generally have higher pixel densities. For myself I dont have an issue with it because I don't expect it to be super sharp (pixel density wise) compared to like an iMac 5K or Retina screen.

    Now I got the display I have a small critical point. That hope for the cables is perhaps a bit high. But I guess it's convenient when you have the monitor higher so cables won't show. But on low position your kinda strssing the cables, leave them for extended period and they are bend into form. I also find a bit awkward in ther vertical position that cables stick out. But the 90deg rotation is kinda neat though. Very handy for my coding projects. Never had something like this 😎

      Hmm sounds quite strange to me. Are you sure your 2017 version is not the inaccurate one? Haha but I would say if after doing a factory reset and you're still getting the same issues, maybe chat to the place you got it for an RMA. But keep in mind doing an RMA might mean you get a refurb model. So you'd want to be 100% sure it's the panel issue not a Windows/MacOS or display cable issue.

    • @jcunboxing
      @jcunboxing  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends to you. If you're comparing them closely then yes, you'll notice a big difference. The Retina display is a high DPI screen, so if you're very used to that, you might be annoyed with the lower DPI of the dell, but if you're not expecting the dell to have a sharp text compared to your Retina then it's okay. You usually use the laptop a lot closer than you would a computer screen. I'm using the dell right now to type this message and I can't realyl tell that the text isn't as sharp as the retina since it's an arms-length away from me.

    Hi, thumbs up for a good review. I'm looking at the U2419H for high color accuracy, for light photoshopping and watching movies. Colors and contrast. When I correct pictures, it's almost all about the colors. It would be nice to see colors, that turn out the same as printed pictures from the shop later on.
    Can you say something about the screen's hard coating? Is that like Gorilla Glass? Monitor screens are notoriously made out of the worst materials ever! They get dirty, and then you need a special liquid to clean them. You know how you can clean your smartphone's display with a dry microfiber towel? Cause nothing can stick to Gorilla Glass. That's what I'm looking for, in monitors, TVs and laptops. They all need Gorilla Glass. 😄
    My dream is a Dell Ultrasharp 24 OLED Monitor with Gorilla Glass. 👍

    • @jcunboxing
      @jcunboxing  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the like. Unfortunately this is a matte finish screen so no glossy hard finish. That would. Make the monitor very glary but also very expensive. It can scratch easily as I have found with my other monitors but cleaning is pretty simple. Just get a damp cloth and wipe it and dry with a dry cloth. Easily removes finger prints and other liquid stains.

    I found dell U2415 more appropriate to my usage (1980x1200, 16:10, 2 HDMI port, ultrasharp, better color compare to P2422H). Could you please help to guide here, whether I should go with U2415 (if buying in 2021 :) ) or is there any other model comparative to U2415 or shall I wait newer model?

      It's hard to know what might be the issue without knowing more about your setup. Have you tried a different input? Have you tired a different computer/laptop? It might be a computer setting issue rather than a monitor one? Best is to do a process of elimination by testing different areas that could be at fault.

    So I’m thinking of getting one of the new M1 Mac Minis with two of these monitors. Question is since the Mac Mini only supports dual monitors if one goes through USBC (I’ll use a USBC to DP cable) and the other through HDMI, will I get a different quality of image on each?

    What’s the difference between U2419H and U2419HX?

    • @jcunboxing
      @jcunboxing  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As I mentioned in the video, always good to check out the Dell website for the naming guide. According to that guide, the X is for "Amazon Version". Best to contact the seller directly.

    • @dhruvmalhotra2012
      @dhruvmalhotra2012 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did. It’s for third party sellers and they also say it comes with HDMI cable instead of Display Port.
      But they also said P2419 and U2419 have no differences, it’s the same monitor.
      So I was not sure.

    • @jcunboxing
      @jcunboxing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @dhruvmalhotra2012
      @dhruvmalhotra2012 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No the above explanation came from Dell customer support.
      They said they sell U2419H and third party would have U2419Hx but you see both available on third party websites.
      surprisingly, Dell support made the claim that there is no difference in U2419h and P2419 except for daisy chain. Otherwise it’s the same monitor.

    • @jcunboxing
      @jcunboxing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Regarding the difference beteween U2419H and U2419HX that's probably correct.
      Regarding the difference between U2419H and P2419H, whoever told you that is very wrong. No idea why they would say such a thing, perhaps they were new to the job? it's even super clear on their website the difference. Maybe call up Dell again to clarify? :/
