    A good mod for these is 6.4 truck intake manifold about 15ftlbs down low.

    And this is with just a K&N cold air intake and a cat-back exhaust? That is Awesome! That is about all I want to do with my 2017 Ram Laramie. I already have the K&N 63 cold air intake and I'm going to install a Magnaflow Street Series cat-back exhaust. Thank You!

    Awesome that you guys are honest enough to remind folks about taking a baseline. Kind of like a lottery but these trucks seem to be a bit underrated from the factory. Lots of tuners like to take credit for that power in edition to the gains that can be had from remapping.
    You guys did pretty good on this truck considering it's NA. Probably feels even better than it looks on the computer with the powerband being more usable too.
    One question I had is about the 8HP gearbox. How much torque/power can it handle before it becomes the weak point in the driveline? I have the 6 speed RFE on my 4th gen and had to modify my valve body after supercharging because the line pressure just wasn't high enough to handle the torque. I suspect the ZF box is a lot more robust?

    • @iansmith9201
      @iansmith9201 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      how is your transmission holding up now and how long have you had the supercharger on your truck? wanting to supercharge mine in the future but worried about the trans not being able to hand it (545RFE)

      @@iansmith9201 Charger has been on it all summer and I've put 3 oil changes through it and 15000km with no major hiccups yet beyond the initial trial and error when I was getting it running originally.
      The 6 speed ZF 6HP box that comes in the later 4th gens is probably plenty robust as I have BMWs running the same tranny making all sorts more torque than my truck does.
      If you have any decent tires on the truck the RFE 6 speed (which is technically not a true 6 speed gearbox) will start to slip due to line pressure issues and that's without loading the brakes and launching.

    I saw the video on what you all did for the 2016 Ram 1500 by upgrading the computer without the encryption. I have a 2018 Ram 1500 5.7 and would like to do the same thing. Where do you get your upgraded computers without encryption. Also, I'm considering replacing the exhaust manifolds with long tube headers. Any recommendations? I know headers will increase power but what about fuel economy? I see you all are located in Ontario. Do you have any shops in the states closer to VA? Any recommendations? I've already subscribed to your channel....well done...enjoying the content. Looking forward to more videos.

    Why you prefer a sealed box air intake

    • @internationaldynoauthority693
      @internationaldynoauthority693  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Heat is the number 1 killer of Engine performance. Your airbox needs to "draw" its cooler air from a fender, or behind a headlight. An 'open air box' draws the hot air from: the radiator, the exhaust, the motor, the hot engine compartment.

      We tune the lower rpm range. To have much much increased torque. This means that the engine does not need to rev as high. In order to make the same power. Also, this means the fuel injector is open for a much less amount of time at a much lower rpm which uses less fuel

      Stock tune vehicles (especially ones with upper 200,000 km's) rarely make the factory amount. This one had a past history of: over heated head, blown head gasket.... repaired and replaced. He was having a severe lifter on off issue with MDS. We were able to tune the vehicle back to stock parameters, then begin working on correct Fueling along with cam timing , ignition timing and transmission tuning.
      Short answer is : we "rarely" see stock vehicles live up to the "controlled" engine dyno cell baseline from the manufacturer "rating"

      Much greater efficiency in the lower RPM range, means a lot less fuel burned. This customet is now seeing between 3-4 L/ 100 km less. Proper tuning leads to much greater efficiency and less fuel consumption. To put it simply. If you think about vehicles in 1980. They made on average 150 horsepower less than they do now. But they also burn a lot more fuel than they do now.
