I used to be a only abrazx and invizx guy. After seeing berkely vanish at a walmart i tried it out and havent switched since. I see no real world use difference and have caught a ton of fish on vanish. Get a huge spool for under 20. I still have large spools of invizx left but i dont even touch it anymore. Think of it as a trophy mount lol.
Good video. One other area where I think Tatsu is 100% worth the money is for jerkbaits. The lack of line memory makes it perfect for suspending jerkbaits. The line is so limo that it does not effect the bait at all on long pauses. Cheaper line can have enough recoil from line memory to actually move the bait slightly during the pause.
I was braid only, but I'm learning to cast fluorocarbon now. I've used Berkeley Vanish to kinky, Seagar InvizX easier to cast, and Kastking Kovert, too stiff/fluffy for my liking. Straight braid or braid to leader is still my favorite and easiest to cast for me... Thanks for sharing 🍺🎣
The idea of throwing straight fluro is pushed by line makers. I would love to hear a honest rebuttle where fluro would be better than braid to leader or strait mon/copoly
@Rainbo Sprinkles Straight Florocarbon will transmit vibrations on slack line where the other lines won't when finesse fishing. You will need a highend very sensitive rod to be able to detect those vibrations. Also, Straight Florocarbon will sink and run deeper for cranking when needed. You can back with mono to save money on Straight Florocarbon. Hope this helps 🍺🎣
My mom bought me a 900 yard spool of 4lb blue mono at a random dollar store when I was 14. I am 38 years old now and still have a bunch of the line. I spooled it up a few years ago on a ultralight rod and it is still like new. I used other lines between now and then of course, and prefer braid. But it has lasted me the majority of my life. Point is, if you take care of your line and store it properly, it can last a hell of a long time. It's still my go to for light leader material.
This is a great video! Backs up what I’ve always said, “Line is a racket.” I use PLine Flouroclear for movin baits. I opt for PLine Tactical for presentations requiring sensitivity. Also, I make my line last on the reel and have been known to reverse it. Keep a good line conditioner handy.
I agree with almost everything you said other than a comment you made at the beginning; when I switched from mono to floro in 2013, my catch rate for bass in clear water doubled, and even tripled in some cases. The only use I have anymore for mono is treble hooked topwater baits and backer. It’s worth it for someone to switch from mono to a lower end floro. Huge difference. I use invisx for alsmot everything, red label and the newer white label seguar are great for the price.
Premium quality fluoro can be bought at very affordable prices. Just have to shop around. And line is the most important part of fishing. You can go cheap elsewhere just not on line. Just my opinion
for me, i use braid for everything BUT with a long leader of either fluro or mono. My experience proved to me that the affordable bass pro xps brand of fluro has done wonders without the high cost of " name brand " products. I no longer use name brand, as i have experienced " failures" at the worst times. Whereas BPS version hasnt let me down yet! may wanna give it a try if your looking to save a few dollars.......
I've been under the impression that as long as you understand the line your using any fluro is acceptable. I've tried the best of the best and I still come back to Vicious and Sunline Super in the blue packaging.
I’ve used all of those lines and I have been for decades ( I’m old😜) and I have found Red Label at Walmart for $11.99 @200yrd spools. I agree with you 💯 and it’s painful to buy Tatsu even if on sale 😂😂😂
I've seriously been pondering new line for my Pflueger President reel and monofilament lines have been very high on my short list of new lines. I once had a full spool of pretty good fluorocarbon, Sniper, and it flew off my spool after maybe 20 casts and I knew how to use the reel. So, I went to braid with the leader which reminds me of fly fishin.
I have a Pflueger president 2016 limited edition spinning reel and the best reel ever for the money, the Supreme XT bait caster. They sadly discontinue the supreme XT😭😭. Maybe they weren’t making enough on it…I dunno! Made in South Korea. Beats $300+ reels. I use to think it was snake oil but I highly recommend line conditioner for fluorocarbon and ESPECIALLY on a spinning reel.
Actually typically start with 30-40 yards of inexpensive leftover mono or fluoro, then fill thr spool with light braid and then just replace fluoro leaders as needed
Yozuri at academy for 9.99 has become my go to. It works!!! I use 7 lb FC for drop shoting. And can change it without breaking the bank. And I won 20+ tournaments in the last three years on cheap line 😊
You can buy it on academy’s web site. It’s better than red label. I’ve used both, I will put yozuri up against fc. Yozuri doesn’t fray as bad as fc does on rocks or cover.
I agree with most of this. Good stuff. Mono and copolymer are more abrasion resistant. Unfortunately, people dont understand refraction and reflection. The claim from fluro makers that its invisible is good marketing, but thts about it. Fluro has less stretch. Thats about it. So if thats important, go for it. As a leader material, ill take 15lb monoover 20lb fluro all day for toughness.
@HellaBass yes. Mono sinks too, just slower. It is a little upsetting to me to see professionals and the industry push so many claims that I see newer anglers either fet confused, overwhelmed, or beat down over since they didnt have the exact product promoted that day.
I've never seen a need to use anything more spendy than Sunline Assassin for my straight flouro applications. I won some spools of higher end flouro in fantasy fishing and it was good but not noticeably better than Assassin in my experience. I used to use straight flouro a lot but now use more braid to flouro. or straight braid now. Also, as many have already commented. I fill half to 2/3 of my baitcasters with low cost mono or whatever is laying around as backing first before the flouo goes on. No need for any spendy line (braid or flouro) in the bottom half of your spool.
I used so many fluros…I think the best value is Sniper for anything you lean on them. Assassin for other mainly because you get more per spool. Seaguar is good but I think sunline is slightly better
I use P-Line Ultimate fluro carbon is $22.99 for a 250yards which isn’t bad. It’s high quality and you don’t break off on it. Seriously trying to break off when your hung up it’s ridiculous hard. But I will say your right save on the moving and if you want spend more on bottom contact baits for sure
I use Mono (suffix elite) 90% of the time. When I do fish a crank bait or jerkbait , I use Pline. Hardly ever use straight which ever. I am a braid to leader guy. So mostly Im talking about what I use as a leader. I have a rod spooled up with 100% 12lb suffix elite 12lb that I fish my whopper plopper ,bbz1 rats, once top water is back poppin here in east TN. Best budget braid is Hercules PE, I also keep a spool of Berkely Invisialine > Now that is a budget Flouro. But seriously @ years ago I started using Higher end lines, for my leader material and i will never go back. But yes mostly fish a jig and mainly go braid to leader with Suffix Elite 10 or 12lb mono. I land a very high percentage of my fish. I also will add that to me, Seagur and Sniper are expensive line! Maybe Im poor but I catch fish!
This. You're twlling the truth, but line companies dont want people to hear it. Im an inhore kayak fisherman mostly. I do fish for bass often, too, though. A $6, 700 yd spool of ande or big game is what I use fpr leader most the time and it works much better than any fluro Ive used as a leader. When fishing inshore getting snagged in oyters or a fish running through pilings is a given. With fluro, its almost a sure bet youll get broke off. Mono, im still getting that fish to the boat. Suffix elite is a great mono too.
P line CXX is super strong and low stretch compared to other co polymers . But it has more memory than fluorocarbon. Great for flipping but I can’t cast a small crank without back lashing . Seagar red label works great for me for most applications.
I use Hi Seas Quadro love the stuff hard to beat Amazon for getting Thousand yard spools. You have to keep a eye out on it they will mark down there fishing line to a insanely cheap price just move it
Hellabass, good video. I agree with you on using the higher end flouro for dragging baits, I do use some (few) flouro for small crankbaits and jerkbaits. A few years ago I went to flouro reaction baits, but after a couple of frustrating yrs dealing with flouro lines I reverted back to PLine co-polymer CXX xtra-strong for all my reaction baits. I can buy a 3000 yd spool of PLine for the cost of 660 yd spool of Sniper, when AFL has their Sunline sale. Seldom do I think the water is so clear on Ky Lake that I need flouro line for reaction baits. The exception to that is some late fall/winter flatsided crankbaits and jerkbaits and I will use flouro line. All my spinning rods are braid to flouro(Sniper) regardless if reaction or dragging bait techniques.
Whether budget or high cost, I found that when using fluoro I had to change out my line often to avoid breakoffs. My line weakened significantly after hookups or snags (line stretching). The permanent line damage led me to return to fishing either straight mono or braid to leader.
I started using seaguard from a Rockfishing background and now only use it freshwater. They make their own resins and line in house no third parties. Best line I've used and honestly 10$ red to 30$ sale Tatsu is perfect for me. Lately I only run Invizex and tatzu and I'll never look back. I make too much to worry about 20$.
Trilene 100% flurocarbon once a year at Bass Pro Shops buy one get one half price . Thats the only time that I buy fluro . I really like Berkley sensation I exclusively use that in place of mono.
There are only three companies that make the PVDF resin. Seaguar is the only company that makes it's own resin and extrudes their own line from it. Every other manufacturer buys their resin from the other two manufacturers. Just little extra info about Flouro for the people.
Fair enough. Makes sense having a lesser quality fluro, for less demanding applications. I use Tatsu for close quarters pitching . . . I'll put on 40 yards at a time (I back the reel 1st) and so I'll get 5 spool-ups out of a 200 yard spool. I also un-spool the line after a trip and run it through a small piece of cloth saturated with Line & lure Conditioner, then spool it back on the same way. This makes the Tatsu last even longer . . . . I fish pretty often, and 1 spool of Tatsu will last me about a season & a half . . . makes it a bit easier to stomach the price. Takes a few extra minutes to do this . . . but it's really nice having such a premium line when we spend so much money on everything else . . . after all, the line is where the hustle meets the muscle.
Hella, I just ordered fc sniper for the season (600 yds on 25% off). For the past 3 years I’ve been using braid to fluoro leader but I got tired of using fg knot. 😫
@@willjunkin732 thanks but I just switched back to all fluoro for my bass setups so I can just use my uni knot. I had been using 30 lb braid with 20 lb fluoro leaders but last year switched to 40lb mono leaders in case a musky bit a bass setup. Turns out 40 lb mono might not be the best for getting bass to bite 🤷🏻♂️🤣
@@HellaBass thanks, I look forward to getting back to fluoro. I’ve been using all braid with fluoro leaders for years. I really don’t remember what an all fluoro bite feels like 🤷🏻♂️🤣
For just fresh water- I use braid and then use Seaguar & Sunline FC Sniper as a leader. The braid last forever- they don't create memory and cast a mile. Then after a while I swap the braid by putting it on another reel. The old becomes the bottom and what has not been exposed to much water is now on top. I also use a lot of shallow spools so I don't end up using to much line. For most fresh water fishing applications you will need no more than 100 yds!
P-Line Ultimate fluoro is certainly in the mix on the budget side. Assassin is more sensitive and durable than Sniper...and feel Assassin 12# it's superior than Sniper 12# noticeably. Tatsu is the creme de la creme for sure and likewise use it for leaders only. It's worth noting that I use 12# Assassin for 10XD and Big M 7.5 deep cranking and have never had issues. Great video...always like the hear different perspectives on fishing lines.
I buy my high end Tatsu from TW. Every year when they start the 25 days of Christmas....its 30% off...I'll buy the 1000yd spool ....it will save you $84. It will last me 2years
Use braid backing on all my reels (baitcasting and spinning). This will save how much fluro you will actually be spooling with. Then seagur red label for all reaction (cranking, chatterbaiting, etc.) except jerkbaiting. A little stretch with it is actually beneficial for reaction baits. Seagur invisx for all spinning reels and and jerkbaiting because it's extremely manageable and less memory. Seagur abrazx for all jiggin and flippin n pitchin that's not into vegetation and bottom-contact techniques.
Yes, as you said try to buy on sale. I also find myself buying the larger yardage spools especially when I use it on different reels or tend to go through a lot of certain size. 😂. Thanks for the tips!
I like Vicious Pro elite up to 17 .Red label is on up to 10 lb. If you stretch flurocarbon with a deep diver or something fairly heavy it usually behaves better. 17 lb and 20 lb usually use Tatsu
@@HellaBass Dialed in fairly well but always looking to better things. Line is pretty important. I love Xplasma braid for open water and in between 3 for grass fishing.
Great video. You have my hamster wheel turning, because I just spent 200$ at bass pro for FC sniper which has been my go to for years. Definitely going to try those lines. Thanks.
What's the benefit of Tatsu as a leader line over cheaper lines? I mean, with just a few feet of leader you don't have to deal with memory, and I'm not sure if there's much of an impact regarding sensitivity. Can you please clarify?
The only line I spool my reels with is Izorline xxx copolymer. It’s limp, low stretch, abrasive resistant, very low memory, strong as hell, small diameter, incredible knot strength, neutrally buoyant, and best of all, extremely well priced. After 40 years of salt and freshwater fishing and experimenting with a plethora of brands, Izorline xxx copolymer surpasses them all. Tackle Warehouse is where I buy mine.
Red label is where i started and on a baitcaster it was fine. Put some 8lb on my spinning and it was horrible. I will only use invizx on spinning or I usually use braid to a fluorocarbon leader.
Invisix for my jerkbait setups, K9 100% flouro on my jig and worm rods and regular K9 Flouro (co polymer) for all my moving baits, the regular K9 flouro is amazing , strong , invisible and supple, you can even put it on a spinning rod, best part its $18.99 for 550 yards
Thank you for being the person to speak the truth. I don't know if I can take another brian bengtson invizx rant. 😀 Sunline Super Fluorocarbon is also a good budget option for reaction line.
anyone remember Shakespeare cheapo fishing line? used it as a kid in Florida... caught tons of fish of all types... Not so sure these lines aren't designed to catch the fisherman more than fish..
Some stretch can be great indeed. I’ve seen a hook almost tear through a Bass’s mouth because it was a monster and braid doesn’t stretch!😱. I’ve used all the higher end Japanese made fluorocarbon with great results but I never pay retail, I hunt for bargains on feebay!!!
I'm am just an average dude but my biggest PB large has come using Sunline FC. Don't know why, i use Copoly and Mono for moving baits in darker color rivers and caught good Smallies cause the they keep my bait higher too. Jig's , finesse and T rigs type stuff seem to catch more with a Pline 100% Flouro , and FC Sniper. Invisex usually loses memory faster for me.
I know your a busy guy but if you have time. I have mono on all reels I’ve been using them for everything. Also to be honest it’s the one that cabelas and bass pro gives you when you purchase a reel. My question is would I notice a big difference if switched the line out to the application the rod Is for? I know everyone has opinions but I’d really like to know if it’s actually worth the money and time
Nothing wrong with mono. Really depends on application. My answer would be different for each application, but mono is a great do it all line. Really up to you if you would find the value
I am pretty new to fishing < 3 years. I fishing my baitcasters with brand to fluroleaders because every time I try straight fluro I have some many line issues any recs for when I try straight Fluro again ??
@@HellaBass the line coming off , getting tangled just not stay on the spool as well. That sort of stuff ... changing baits into the fluro leader be nice to not have to keep doing the fluro leaders
Good Stuff! So I need two rods set up with Flouro for the annual deep creek spotted sea trout fishing that last about two months , these fish move into fresh water from the sounds and bays and are very finicky, strike very light and are heavy pressured. they sit on the bottom 14-24 feet in current , throw 1/8 swim baits and ned rigs . these fish range from 2-8 lbs. i can’t find a flouro line that wont bird nest , or pop anywhere a long the line when snagged. i’m using spinning gear 2000/3000 size , what type would you recommend?
Any thoughts on lifespan for unused line still on the filler spool? I agree. Got some Red Label on sale last winter and Invisx on a bargain bin deal off Omnia in the fall!
Why buy seaguar red label when you can get bass pro flouro cheaper and it's the exact same line even on the same spools lol just different labels. They are both made in the same plant.
Top 3 floro lines 100% are: Seaguar Tatsu 12lb Fc sun sniper 14lb Seaguar invizex 15lb Use as leaders tied to 20lb power pro low viz green braid and trust me please, you will never use anything else for landing quality hogs! Tight lines today!!
@@HellaBass I use a refrigerant scale but you can use a fish scale, tie one end to hook with no point and the other end to fish scale and pull and watch where the line fails. If it breaks at the knot it is not a good test!
@@HellaBass I used a scale used to measure a.c. refriderent put a bucket of water on the scale then tied a knot to the bucket . Then I zeroed the scale and pulled till it broke. You can use a digital fish scale just test it to make sure it is accurate!
I use braid backing on everything. Pretty much use Berkley trilene mono and floro. Hasn't let me down yet and dosnt break the bank. Especially when you find at bass pro bogo.
I just bought seaguar red label today and I fucking hate it already. It backlashes every freaking cast on my Tatula. I’ve never ever had this problem with line before.
Fluoro is nice but don't buy the hype. There are lots of videos out there comparing the abrasion resistance of fluoro vs mono and many times mono holds up longer.
It's a money waster so is brade Mon it's been around before the rest still the best. Use it in grass. Drop shoots crankbaits worms and jigs. The only line you need if you know how to
They all have their place and I think I can make a case that braid is the most economical of all, since I have had braid on my spools for multiple years, still going strong

Whether budget or high cost, I found that when using fluoro I had to change out my line often to avoid breakoffs. My line weakened significantly after hookups or snags (line stretching). The permanent line damage led me to return to fishing either straight mono or braid to leader.
always do what works for you!
Good arguement!
@@HellaBass it's my opinion.
Berkeley Fluroshield is my go to after years with P Line. It's just as good as the yellow label Seagar
Trilene 100% flurocarbon once a year at Bass Pro Shops buy one get one half price . Thats the only time that I buy fluro . I really like Berkley sensation I exclusively use that in place of mono.
Smart to stock up when on sale
There are only three companies that make the PVDF resin. Seaguar is the only company that makes it's own resin and extrudes their own line from it. Every other manufacturer buys their resin from the other two manufacturers. Just little extra info about Flouro for the people.
Thanks for the nuggets Chad
100% agreed, use the premium line in smart ways in the places its justified!
I run 10lb Invisx on my 2500 TatulaD-XH LT MQ.
It is a spinning reel and I've never had an issue running straight fluro.
If it works for you, keep rocking it
Hella, I just ordered fc sniper for the season (600 yds on 25% off). For the past 3 years I’ve been using braid to fluoro leader but I got tired of using fg knot. 😫
Look into the blood knot. Learned it from debo. It's alot easier to tie.
LOVE SNIPER! Money well spent!
For most fresh water fishing applications you will need no more than 100 yds!
you got it down, do the same for spinning rods
Thanks for the informational video. Being new to bass fishing anything that saves money helps
Amen!
100% agree! I reserve the expensive stuff for main leader lines and rip rap.
👍👍👍👍
It will last me 2years
Buying line in bulk is a good idea for sure
Use braid backing on all my reels (baitcasting and spinning). This will save how much fluro you will actually be spooling with. Then seagur red label for all reaction (cranking, chatterbaiting, etc.) except jerkbaiting. A little stretch with it is actually beneficial for reaction baits. Seagur invisx for all spinning reels and and jerkbaiting because it's extremely manageable and less memory. Seagur abrazx for all jiggin and flippin n pitchin that's not into vegetation and bottom-contact techniques.
For sure, all my reels have backing, never fully respool
Started off as antifluoro but ended up as pro fluoro and very expensive fluoro hmmmm🤔🤔🤔🤔
I use backing unless it's 17lb or heavier. I can spool a pro ti outfitted with 20lb sunline & a good tailwind.
Yes, as you said try to buy on sale. I also find myself buying the larger yardage spools especially when I use it on different reels or tend to go through a lot of certain size. 😂. Thanks for the tips!
I think I am done buying 250yd spools for anything that is not leader line
I like Vicious Pro elite up to 17 .Red label is on up to 10 lb. If you stretch flurocarbon with a deep diver or something fairly heavy it usually behaves better. 17 lb and 20 lb usually use Tatsu
Sounds like you're dialed on works for you
@@HellaBass Dialed in fairly well but always looking to better things. Line is pretty important. I love Xplasma braid for open water and in between 3 for grass fishing.
Great video. You have my hamster wheel turning, because I just spent 200$ at bass pro for FC sniper which has been my go to for years. Definitely going to try those lines.
Thanks.
SNIPER is Good Stuff, love it, just save it for certain rods
What's the benefit of Tatsu as a leader line over cheaper lines? I mean, with just a few feet of leader you don't have to deal with memory, and I'm not sure if there's much of an impact regarding sensitivity. Can you please clarify?
Seems like best knot strength and abrasion resistance for me
The only line I spool my reels with is Izorline xxx copolymer.
I do agree that Copoly is underrated as an option
Been wondering about that line. But didn’t know anyone who uses it. Might have to give it a try
@@timg185 Ya, I’ve tried so many lines over the year’s and I have always gone back to Izorline. There should be some reviews on Tackle Warehouse…
@@timg185 Hahaha, I just checked the reviews on TW and I actually submitted one in 2021!
Red label is where i started and on a baitcaster it was fine. Put some 8lb on my spinning and it was horrible. I will only use invizx on spinning or I usually use braid to a fluorocarbon leader.
Yeah, I only go braid to leader for spinning rods, this video was largely directed at casting gear
Good to know, haven't tried K9
Thank you for being the person to speak the truth. I don't know if I can take another brian bengtson invizx rant. 😀
Sunline Super Fluorocarbon is also a good budget option for reaction line.
BANGER LOL!
I catch just as many on budget as premium line. My favorite budget is yo zuri top knot.
I've heard good stuff about Top Knot, haven't tried it myself yet
Just found your channel, Awesome info!
Welcome aboard!
anyone remember Shakespeare cheapo fishing line? used it as a kid in Florida... caught tons of fish of all types... Not so sure these lines aren't designed to catch the fisherman more than fish..
I have been using more and more Big Game mono lately
Some stretch can be great indeed. I’ve seen a hook almost tear through a Bass’s mouth because it was a monster and braid doesn’t stretch!😱.
I’ve used all the higher end Japanese made fluorocarbon with great results but I never pay retail, I hunt for bargains on feebay!!!
agreed, not all stretch is bad
I'm am just an average dude but my biggest PB large has come using Sunline FC. Don't know why, i use Copoly and Mono for moving baits in darker color rivers and caught good Smallies cause the they keep my bait higher too. Jig's , finesse and T rigs type stuff seem to catch more with a Pline 100% Flouro , and FC Sniper. Invisex usually loses memory faster for me.
Right on
I go straight floro. To many problems with a leader. I was breaking off 2 much. I think the leader thing is just over rated. Just my opinion
I'm braid to fluoro leaders on almost everything expect crankbait full fluoro and Frog straight braid
Great explanation! Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
My experimenting with Red label is it really doesn’t sink. It only partly sinks. Invizx sinks totally. Also for budget I started using Berkley vanish.
That is an interesting nugget
Thanks for the explanation. Still not a major flouro fan…. At all. And nope don’t use leaders. Lazy lol
Hate leaders!!! I break off with my leaders and Pline....If it weren't for red label I'd be fishin nothing but braid! Lol
Gotta work ok that knot game!
Well I just learned a ton in about 7 minutes thanks
I am pretty new to fishing < 3 years. I fishing my baitcasters with brand to fluroleaders because every time I try straight fluro I have some many line issues any recs for when I try straight Fluro again ??
What type of line issues? Backlash, breaking? Nothing wrong with braid to leader if it works for you on baitcasters
Are you fishing straight fluoro or braid to fluoro?
Any thoughts on lifespan for unused line still on the filler spool? I agree. Got some Red Label on sale last winter and Invisx on a bargain bin deal off Omnia in the fall!
As long as it isn't stored in the sun, or a really hot room, it'll last years. Dark, cooler room and at least 7+ years.
@@Twangtown7 That is what I kind of assumed , but wasn't certain. Thanks for the reply. 😀
Yes agreed 👍
I go with assassin across the board from leader for spinning rig to throwing swimbaits that weight 6 7 ozs
No shame in that game, it is good line
My go to is Trilene xl 14 pound in green
if I am going mono or co poly, I am going Big Game
Thanks Hella great info!
Any time!
Use the red for leader and invisex for whole reels.
Why buy seaguar red label when you can get bass pro flouro cheaper and it's the exact same line even on the same spools lol just different labels. They are both made in the same plant.
Good to know, only reason would be that Red Label is more widely available and I rarely shop at Bass Pro
Tatsu, tatsu, tatsu, It’s simply gold. Everything about it is awesome as long as you retie often.
Everything except for the price lol
@@HellaBass id have to agree 😂
Red label is definitely on most of my reels. Bang for the freakin buck!
Good stuff for sure
Seaguar red label is great line. Also their abrazx is great as well.
100% agree
I don't go fishin' without Berkeley trilene !! 10# caught me a 9 and 1/2 pounder !
Sounds like it works awesome
Red label has not failed me yet, I do use more expensive ones but purchase when they’re on sale!
Red Label is tough as nails!
Top 3 floro lines 100% are:
Seaguar Tatsu 12lb
Fc sun sniper 14lb
Seaguar invizex 15lb
Use as leaders tied to 20lb power pro low viz green braid and trust me please, you will never use anything else for landing quality hogs! Tight lines today!!
Solid choices
Thanks Hella!
Tried FC SNIPER 7 LB, PULLED strength
Was 4 lbs .I never put it on my reel sold it on eBay to get some money back PU.
Wow, how did you measure the pull strength?
@@HellaBass I use a refrigerant scale but you can use a fish scale, tie one end to hook with no point and the other end to fish scale and pull and watch where the line fails. If it breaks at the knot it is not a good test!
@@HellaBass I used a scale used to measure a.c. refriderent put a bucket of water on the scale then tied a knot to the bucket . Then I zeroed the scale and pulled till it broke. You can use a digital fish scale just test it to make sure it is accurate!
Red Label all day long. I have used it for years with 0 difficulty.
I agree, it's good stuff
I use braid backing on everything. Pretty much use Berkley trilene mono and floro. Hasn't let me down yet and dosnt break the bank. Especially when you find at bass pro bogo.
If it works, it works
What are your thoughts on Vicious lines?
Been several years since I have fished it, my recollection was that it was very tough, but not the greatest on the spool or castability
I throw FC on my spinning rods, red label on most my bait caster’s. I crank with FC crank.
Straight fluoro or braid to fluoro on spinning?
@@HellaBass Straight Flouro. I can’t get used to the feel, and sound of a knot through my guides.
I love Red Label except that they don't make it in 17...
Yeah, I don't like it when line brands don't have a 17 or 18lb option
You can also save tons of money buying bulk spools and you don’t waste as much
Also a good tip, didn't show them in the video, but I do have several bulk spools of my most common line sizes
I got fluorocarbon wont use mono unless it's maxima mono I got Berkley fluorocarbon I like
Berkley is much better than it used to be for Fluoro, Vanish was a bad deal when it first came out
@@HellaBass I use flute vanish pretty good
Can't go wrong with Red Label if you're looking to save a few $$ !
Agreed, quality stuff
I just bought seaguar red label today and I fucking hate it already. It backlashes every freaking cast on my Tatula. I’ve never ever had this problem with line before.

The best Fluro I have ever used is the one I get from my neighbors bass boat at 2 am.
Definitely the cheapest lol
Tatsu is bae. Even better leader line than gold label in my opinion
What's more expensive???
Bae or Tatsu?
HellaBass they are proportional lol. You prompted me to do some math and I found out gold label is more than 3x as expensive by the yard than tatsu
Good to know, I will stick to making leaders from Tatsu
Fluoro is nice but don't buy the hype. There are lots of videos out there comparing the abrasion resistance of fluoro vs mono and many times mono holds up longer.
I would agree, the fact that fluoro sinks and has a little less stretch is the biggest difference
Trilene Big Game
Used that a bunch down in the Bayou
Yo zuri hybrid is the absolute best
I use it for a leader. Never anything else
I have not tried it, but have heard good things
Bass Pro Shops Excell fluorocarbon is made my Segar and is $10
Sniper is awesome.

Walmart. Berkley Vanish. That’s all you need. It does everything you want.
Sounds like Vanish is better than when it first came on to market, had issues with it back then
$400 rod $250 reel $25 jerk bait $85000 bass boat why save a few $ on line?😂
Gotta pinch a few pennies here and there to fuel the rig... 🙃😄
Lol just bought Sunline shooter 🤪
That is good line!
Trilene Biggame Monofilament ! Spool that up and go catch them end of story
I actually use Big Game for most moving baits
It's a money waster so is brade Mon it's been around before the rest still the best. Use it in grass. Drop shoots crankbaits worms and jigs. The only line you need if you know how to
They all have their place and I think I can make a case that braid is the most economical of all, since I have had braid on my spools for multiple years, still going strong
Seagar Basix
Haven't had a chance to try it, but I would bet it is solid
