  • Do you dream of owning an Exotic Cars, but don't think you can afford them? To learn how to hack Exotic Cars, take a journey with me in my 2012 Audi R8 GT Spyder, while I explain how Exotic Cars can be much more affordable than you think.
    The Audi R8 GT is the ultimate version of the Audi R8 V10, and the most expensive Audi ever made,. I was able to put one in my garage by applying the Exotic Car Hacks principles.
    To learn even more, check out the Exotic Car Hacks program that my friend PJ put together over at exoticcarhacks.com

      It's a fun car. And this one being the GT makes it quite a different beast from the "regular" v10s (which were already pretty awesome).

    Real eye opening video Henrik. Thanks so much for taking the time and putting on the effort.
    That is my dream car too. Can you comment on down payment requirements and the current state of the super car market in general?
    Has anything changed?
    Thanks again and all the best.

    • @cadreamdrives
      @cadreamdrives  ปีที่แล้ว

      Down payments are too individual to both the car and the individual to write something general about. It really just depends on the deal and your credit.
      The Exotic market that I cover in the video is still doing well. But it’s imperative that you buy the right car at the right price. Not all exotics are created equal.

      The one issue is that running it can be very expensive. Mine needed a new Aircon pump and rear springs and that was close to £10k in one go. If you need a new clutch, £5k parts and labour...The carbon windscreen surround is £10k, so if that gets damaged, it can be costly to replace. Just to keep in mind, buying is one thing, running it is another. But so worth it.

      I encourage you to look into the system mentioned in the video. Essentially, you'll need to follow the price development closely and become an expert in what options command more money. With the current generation of R8s being the last with a gas engine, there could come a time where they will make great investments!

    If you taxes were 9% you need to add $9,000 to your costs so the $3000 just became $12K for the 1st year. $250K car means $22,500 to the tax man.

    • @cadreamdrives
      @cadreamdrives  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are 100% right. And there are even places in the world where the taxes can be 25% - or more! That's also why I left taxes out of the calculations - they vary so much that I couldn't paint an accurate picture. But there are two main points about taxes and what I describe in the video. 1) Taxes (generally) apply to all cars - which means they apply to the new BMW in the example. Obviously, they won't be as much, but they will be there. 2) There are strategies to avoid the taxes - depending on where you live. Some states in the US don't have sales tax on used cars, some have them only on used cars purchased at dealers, but not private party. Other states allow you to "bank" the taxes you paid on one car when you buy another from a dealer. Some people choose to register their exotic cars in a state with little or no taxes (e.g. Montana) instead of in their own state. (This is not a strategy I subscribe to because it's against the law here in CA - but many still do it). You can also register your car under a Company (if you happen to have one) to possibly make the taxes deductible. And finally, you can become an auto dealer and not have to pay sales tax on cars in your inventory.
      There are lots of different strategies. Some take more work than other, but as you point out above, the savings can be huge on cars with high price tags.

    Such an underrated car... Only those in the know seem to appreciate it. Mine is No.96... I don't know if I could ever sell it. Love the 360 shots 👍
    Edit: if you think yours is uncomfortable, you need to try the GT seats... Amazing when driving hard but terrible on a long drive 😬

      Thank you very much! I watched all of your videos when I was first looking into ownership 🙂 (including all of your 360 shots!). I would love to have the GT seats - it's a shame they didn't make it in the US version. They fit the looks and spirit of the car so well! I don't think I'll ever take mine for a long drive, so I'd be OK with trade-off!

      @@salimrandall huracan would be a good car hack, especially like a 3 yr. I doubt in 5-7 years they'll still be over 200k (by then they'll be over 10 yrs old and getting outdated) but for 3 years likely wont lose value.

      Car hacks really opened my eyes! We drove nice Mercedes and I previously had an audi S5. But lost a lot of money on them. I love super cars and the idea of car hacks. If I could do any Id have done a ferrari 458 since thats the last NA engine they'll make. That or a Mercedes AMG GTR as they'll never make an R variant again.
      Unfortunately I have 2 small kids and wanted a 4 seater to take the kids around so I recently bought a 2015 California. I'm hoping the price difference between a 2010 and a 2015 is partially or mostly explained by the T variant and not just the age

    • @cadreamdrives
      @cadreamdrives  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Congratulations on the purchase! How are you liking it? I think the "T"s are super cool, and I'm hoping that might be what I get as my next exotic. It will depend a little on the timing of the sale of my R8, and what the T market looks like at that time. I love when 2+2 configurations. I don't really use the back seats, but I like having the space behind me. I also love when there is enough luggage room for a weekend trip, so the T fits my bill well.

    You must be loosing your a** buying exotic cars like that. How about the $7500 sales tax, or the $356 per month finance charges even with perfect credit I don't think they are going to do 10 more years financing on an already 10 year old car. Besides were in a pandemic and it's definitely not a buyers market right now.

    • @cadreamdrives
      @cadreamdrives  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually, it's quite the opposite, but this past year has also been a little unique. I plan on selling the R8 GT Spyder this year, and will profit nicely from it.
      Lenders are willing to lend if you go to the right lenders. You'll pay a higher interest rate on the 10 year loans, but since you the idea is to only hold on to the car for a shorter period of time, the interest rate doesn't matter that much. Sales tax can definitely be an issue - but you pay that on any car you buy.
      It's all about finding the right car at the right price. And the right car has to follow all of the guidelines explained in the video. When done correctly, you can drive extreme exotic cars for less that you would spend on an ordinary car.
