      I like the idea of reviewing the X5 as well - and maybe do a comparison. I’ll look into getting an X5 in for review, but it may take some time.
      My personal opinion on the two:
      The X5 will offer a more comfortable, but less sporty ride.
      It will also have more cargo space and even more headroom in the rear seats. It will likely also come with a higher price tag.
      For me, it’s all about the different feel between the two. The X5 is a more comfortable commuter / cruiser / road trip car, and the X4 is more sporty, feels less big, and is more fun to drive if you’re looking for an actual driving experience.

    Very nice spec!!! That is exactly what I would buy. I love the red! And the chrome grills!! I think black grills make it look cheap!
    I think the facelift looks really bad, I think yours is really beautiful!!
    I have a 2015 Melbourne RED BMW X4 M sport, every option, black interior, just like yours. I even have similar rims.
    Your car is the modern version of my exact car, and it looks fantastic! Is it worth going from the first Gen to this? Thanks!

    • @cadreamdrives
      @cadreamdrives  ปีที่แล้ว

      It seems we are car twins! :D
      I have not had the pleasure of driving the previous generation of the X4s. I think upgrading to the newer gen comes down to what you prioritize in the car. There will be new tech, and the new body style arguably is quite a bit more modern than that of the previous gen. The power is supposedly the same and the torque is up a little bit. But the biggest difference is likely to be the exhaust. From what I understand, the 2019 is the only year with the crazy (good) exhaust on the M40i. It's really quite unique and it makes you grin every time you drive it.
      But the bottom line is, if you're happy with your '15, I don't see any immediately need to spend the money on the newer generation. However, if you're looking to upgrade to a car where everything is just a little bit newer, then current generation will fit your needs nicely!

      Can you please inform me about the driving experience and the mpg? Is it a rough and bumpy ride like the mini Cooper on the run-flats?

    • @cadreamdrives
      @cadreamdrives  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@malakyahmalla8009 The ride is definitely on the stiffer side. Since our car has the rate option of “regular” tires, it does ride a tiny bit smoother than most, but the suspension is definitely geared towards sportiness over comfort. The larger wheels with lower profile tires of course adds to that as well.
      If you want a fun and sporty car, this car has all of that. If you want a smooth and more “cushy” ride, this car isn’t it. It’s a fun of fun to drive, but it’s always in fun mode - even when comfort mode is selected.
      As for MPG, I can’t actually speak to that because I never really watch it. But I can guarantee that you’ll have a hard time driving the car efficiently, because it just begs to be played with and you’ll be putting your right foot down harder much more often than you will in a less engaging car. For higher mpg, the regular X4 with the smaller engine will be a better (but much less fun) choice.

    What is your take and/or review of the 2022 x4 m40i in the Brooklyn grey?

    • @cadreamdrives
      @cadreamdrives  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      With regards to the 2022 model, it's my understanding that there are two main differences between that and our 2019 model: Higher horsepower and lower exhaust noise. I can't speak to the HP change, but our car has never had me wishing for more. On the other hand, there is rarely a downside to more HP... For the exhaust, I hear it has been muted significantly in order to be in compliance with new regulations. That could potentially be a negative since the exhaust on the 2019 is glorious (but they way it's piped into the car isn't always great).
      With regards to the Brooklyn grey, I have only had the chance to that color in photos. It's not my favorite color, but colors are such an individual choice. If you like it, then it's the color for you!
      There is also often a big difference between photos and real world in may of the BMW colors today. I didn't necessarily think the Flamenco Red on our car was great in photos, but seeing it in person changed my mind completely.
      Good look with your search!

    Good video, but would like to add a couple of points. This is a 2020 X4 M40i and not 2021 - the 2021 has a full digital cockpit screen and the engine puts out 382HP. And finally, the cracks and gurgles have reduced with the 2021. Finally, I am assuming your spec does not have Adaptive M suspension, which is available as an option in the M40i. Adaptive suspension improves the ride quality in the different modes. So that is something prospective buyers should seriously consider when spec'ing their car.

    • @cadreamdrives
      @cadreamdrives  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you for your comment - you definitely know your X4s well!
      My car is actually a 2019 model. The 2021 in the title of the video was meant to reference when the video was made, but I can see how it could be taken to mean that I was talking about a 2021 model.
      It’s not so much the pops and crackles I mind - they are actually kind of cool. It’s not the exhaust sound under performance driving either - that can sound awesome as well! It’s more the general droning when just driving around. I think the car feeds it back in via the stereo, and it just doesn’t seem quite right to me. On the flip side, I’m also not pleased that I can’t hear the great exhaust node in my Porsche Cayenne S, so I’m hard to please 😊.
      My car does have the S2VF Adaptive Chassis option, and it can be brilliant at times. I just feel it should be more comfortable when I’m Comfort mode. I also have conventional tires on (not run flats), so I think I have the most comfortable setup possible (short of switching to smaller rims).

    For driving pleasure X3 or X4 ?

    • @cadreamdrives
      @cadreamdrives  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hi Yogesh, Thank you for watching! It depends a little on what Driving Pleasure means to you - and maybe even more on the trim level of car. The decision between X3 and X4 is mostly a style decision, in my opinion. The cars are similar otherwise, so it depends on which one you like the looks of better - and if you need the added space you get in the X3. But the driving experience is hugely impacted by the trim level. If Driving Pleasure means being comfortable in city driving, in traffic, or on long road trips, I would pick the standard trim. It's more comfortable and has plenty of power for most. However, if Driving Pleasure means tearing up roads with lots of curves and driving more for the pleasure of driving itself, my pick would be the M40i for both models. That trim is a lot more sporty (for better and for worse), and the exhaust note is a thing to behold (or be annoyed by) in the M40i trim.
