    For anyone wondering: the restaurant closed a year after Gordon’s visit. The mother started working as a real estate agent in the area again. The daughter continued to work at places like red lobster. Trevor went to rehab and got clean. He then went on to culinary school and is now working as a sous chef. I’m happy he made his way and got out of that place

      The "I'm so scared of you" daughter in his face is such a good point. I hate when I hear women who clearly know someone is abusive, continue to engage and egg him on and act surprised and the victim if the guy actually does it. Play stupid games win stupid prizes.
      Really it's Julie's fault cause if she wants to complain and constantly VERBALLY abuse Trevor, then she should fire him. She's not doing anyone any favours keeping him including himself. Making her daughter have to keep being around the person who supposedly almost punched her, so she can be resentful and tell him nobody likes him and nobody cares about him on a daily basis. It's a miracle he still has a backbone against Julie at least.

      I get that the owner is 100% in the wrong, but what has the daughter really done wrong? Yes, she does get into arguments but it's natural to come to your parent's defence. She's also been forced to work alongside a guy who's punched her before. Yes, her attitude isn't the best and she's clearly displaying the toxic behaviour and speech pattern of her mother, but having to deal with that sort of emotional trauma doesn't help either. That's not to say that Trevor isn't also a victim of their constant verbal and psychological abuse that seems to exercebate his mental health and substance abuse as well.

      To be honest think it is a cycle. Trevor broke up and manhandled the daughter so they teamed up against him. He then developed even more and more attitude. So they got more and more arsey with him. They should have fired him the second he lost it with the daughter. If you can't act professional at work you need to go.
      But aside from Trevor clearly Julie can't manage

    • @TheLikenessOfNormal
      @TheLikenessOfNormal ปีที่แล้ว +25

      @@gmarz9611 I agree and disagree with you.
      The timeline is something like a year before they broke up, from how they act IMO that is when the abuse started towards Trevor.
      After about six months of that he got handsy with the daughter (but keep in mind that Trevor didn't end up in the hospital and did this in front of other men, so she must have said something VILE for them to not kick the shit out of his skinny ass)
      But with how quickly the daughter goes to personal attacks it seems to me that when they broke up she likely started being a bitch to him and her mom never chastises her for her unprofessional behavior.
      Like earlier in the episode when he says he has a hard time coming to work when he gets told he's worthless and no one cares about him and then she chirps in "it's true, you are worthless, no one likes you, no one would care if you got fired." That's unacceptable in a professional environment and on the light end of what she does.
      So I agree that if you can't act professional at work you need to go, I just think that if that was the standard for everyone the daughter would've been booted out before it ever got physical.

    Over time you realize Trevor was never the problem. He’s not entirely a blameless individual but he’s still a victim. He’s only 22, never had working experience and told to run a kitchen from an owner who doesn’t teach and gives the absolute worst products to work with while constantly being belittled by the owner and her daughter (who really seems to initiate a lot of issues) and shames him constantly for his addiction. He can’t go anywhere else because there’s so few game in town that would take such an inexperienced chef. Glad to hear he got help and is successful now.

    Honestly I felt bad for Trevor most of the episode, before the drug habit even came out I was thinking "he might be an asshole, but what is he supposed to do?", he was 22 running a kitchen with no experience, getting bullied by the owners daughter, yelled at constantly, of course he's stressed and on edge.
    Yes maybe even without the habit he could still be an ass or lazy, but who wouldn't lose motivation in that work environment?
    I just hope he's clean and doing well now and if cooking was his passion I hope he found a good restaurant to learn at.

      You don't really have to, just hire people who are passionate and experienced in the field the people who show up in these shows don't do that and even worse, even when they do, they sabotage them either with shit decor designs, terrible personality, absurd menu changes, inability to take criticism, etc.
      The fact they even had some people show up, even how little it was shows that some people really don't have a good palate. Even at home, I can tell how different the taste of a fresh meal is compared to when its reheated. i feel bad for trevor, he clearly got some issues and need help, i just hope hes doing alright now...
