Gotta question for anyone. So I recently bought a 1994 GMC sierra 5.7l 4WD 350 EFI truck. And my question is, It's got the whole steering column ghetto and tore apart. I plan to replace it. But I'm not sure if I do, Do I need to re program the ecm or anything? Also change the door locks.
What if you can't turn the ignition switch with the key because he f***d it up. The key won't even go in like the tumblers are stuck. Was going to try a long skinny flat head and see if I could get it to rotate. Replace the whole mechanism not just the cylinder?

This video was actually longer for a different purpose but they cut it down to just show the cover. You really don't need to remove the steering wheel to remove the covers or the lock cylinder

You skipped the only part nobody can figure out. The tilt lever
Its just slides in an out no screws or clips
Do not just pull on the the tilt lever it will break
what is the purpose of removing the clip on the steering shaft? you did not reinstall it in the video
No, he didn't show that, looks like he forgot to reinstall it. Or simple didn't showed in the video.
