Chavacano is a Spanish based creole spoken in some parts of the Philippines including Cavite, Cotabato, Zamboanga and Basilan. Meaning, the vocabulary used for Chavacano are based on Spanish, but the grammar is largely based on Filipino Language.
Chavacano was originally considered incorrect or corrupted Spanish or broken Spanish. Zamboanga City and Basilan has the most largely number of Chavacano speakers mainly because Chavacano Language is used as their most common Lingua Franca.

I am from a Latin America country called Ecuador, I am interested in your language because it is so similar to Spanish Language, regards from Ecuador, saludos hermanos de Filipinas
Yo también muy interesado para aprender a idioma Español. Tomé una clase de Español cuando estaba en la escuela todavía pero solo los básicos. Quiero mucho aprender más pero muy difícil sin un maestro o alguien para hablar Español conmigo.
Hahaha hope my Spanish is grammatically accurate and understandable and believe me I didn't use Google translate. ¡Español es una idioma bonita!
@@notme6753 it is good Spanish, you can improve something, the important part is that you message is understandable
Ecuadorian here!!! :) I plan to move to Cuenca and look forward to improving my Spanish. Hopefully visit this beautiful area of the Philippines as well.
Gracias. Thank you. I'm korean im so interested chavacano. Im in Zamboanga now.
Wow. Really? Have a good stay there in zamboanga. :)
Where here in zAmboanga?
Salamat po ate
El español criollo de Zamboanga. Saludos desde America. Gracias amigos
My dad was born in Zamboanga. He’ll be visiting there in October as a last visit to his hometown.
I’ll be joining him. Thank you for sharing this. It’ll be my guide into meeting old relatives and navigating.
I’ve got a lot of work to do 😂
I know that there are many Languages in the Philippines. Someone from Manila said some racist stuff about me saying that I am not Filipino because I can't speak Tagalog. I can speak Tagalog but only 62% Fluent. I am 94% in Speaking Bisaya and 98% in English.
Que bien, muy bueno! Soy de Panama y he conversado con muchos Filipinos y realmente se comprende el chabacano, ademas de mezclarlo con el tagalog y demas lenguas filipinas.
Ojalá que no dejen morir esta lengua!
sana po mdami pnq basic words pra madami konmatutunan thanks for doinq this biq help 😍🤗
Gracias amiga
Impresionante! Es casi todo como el español, tan solo dos o tres palabras diferentes, por ejemplo SILA, nosotros decimos ELLOS.
sila = ellos o ellas
tampoco distinguen él o ella. (:
En el chavacano de Cavite y Ternate (Manila y cerca) dicen ilos
It's almost the same with Spanish Language. I love learning different dialects/languages. thanks for sharing
Yes, it's a bit similar in vocabularies but chavacano has filipino grammar structure. :)
@@paeuladatulayta3825 Tú entiendes español?? You can understand Spanish?
@@reyorlandoortizgonzalez4354 un poquito
@@paeuladatulayta3825 Saludos,si quieres aprender español yo te enseño con gusto. Saludos
@@reyorlandoortizgonzalez4354 Enseñarme por favor... Quiero aprender más. Tomé clase de español pero solo los básicos. Creo que necesito hablar con alguien que habla español para mí español sería más mejor jajaja
I speak English and Spanish fluently, ever since I learnt about the colonization from Spain in the Philippines 🇵🇭 I have been listening more carefully to tagalog, taglish and just recently found “chabacano” I’m very interested!! I’m from Guatemala we were also colonized under the Spanish people long time ago. I found a video of some elderly people speaking Spanish fluently and I was in awe they sound like the way my grandmother speaks, nevertheless I want to venture in this culture and languages wish me luck ☺️🇵🇭❤️
I’m sorry I wrote chavacano with “b” because I read somewhere the abakada uses b for almost everything I’m sorry if this is wrong I’m just learning these I’m willing to learn more thank you friends 💖
@@kathrinemoore8183 don't worry it's correct

Gracias amiga... oi kabalo nku nyahahah salamat po 😁😁😁🥳🥳🥳
Wow, bueno, more pa po, Gracias!
My mother was also born and raised in Basilan (Begang). My siblings and I only know few Chavacano words, since our mother don't talk to us in Chavacano. But whenever she talks to our relatives in Basilan it's like we understand what their talking to. hahaha
Very interesting, I’m a Filipino American, my mom is illocano and my dad is kapangangan. I can only speak some Tagalog words, but under stand it mostly. It’s very cool how there are very different dialects in parts of the Philippines, especially chavocano since it’s basically mostly Spanish words.
This is really educating, Thanks for this interesting video.

I want to learn chavacano!
Un rato lang tu aprende chavacano kay de tuyo apellido sabroso come, daw diutay empanada. Hehe. Cheers!
I didn’t know the word para means stop😭 it’s my first time knowing it’s true meaning I really thought it’s meaning is para like para in tagalog, there are many times I wondered why we say para if we want to stop at our destination when riding a jeepney😭 and I always find it weird bc why para?bc para doesn’t have anything to do with telling manong to stop bc para short for the parang and it means “it seems like”. At this point if I have questions I’m gonna look for it’s Spanish meaning but the problem is i didn’t even know it’s Spanish it literally look to me like tagalog omg in my 16 yrs of existence I just discovered this today😭
