When I was in college, our undergraduate thesis is about Caviteño or Chavacano in Cavite City and we are astonished as many of the speakers are very accommodating and they are happy that we, given the fact that we came from other town in Cavite is interested with their culture in Cavite City. Thanks to this language because it doesn’t just make us fulfill our course requirements 5 years ago but it makes us wonder and learn that our province has more story to tell in terms of its culture and its people. And for me, those story would be better if Caviteño will also be used to tell the story of Cavite.
Chavacano ain't dying soon at least where I'm currently at (Zamboanga City). Most speak Chavacano here and that's around hundreds of thousands of people. It's still the most used dialect here so there's that too. It'll probably go up even more since it's recently been added to the city's school curriculum.
I have relatives in Cavite but I was born in Zamboanga (Grafia). Even my relatives say that Chavacano is slowly disappearing in Cavite which saddens me because of how beautiful Chavacano is.

It has to start with the National & Local Government. Cavite should strictly implement it on educating to students not just Filipino(Tagalog) subjects but Chavacano too. Let's try preserve this language as much as possible. There's nothing wrong learning as much language as possible. Like me for example, my first language is bisaya/cebuano, but marunong tayong mag tagalog dahil masyadong maimpluwensya sa atin ang tagalog sa lahat ng local radio at tv stations. But our necessities when it comes to education is English because of the opportunities that comes with it. Again, let's have a strong will to preserve as much culture as possible.
please revive this language! it's part of the Philippines, and it'll be so much easier to learn Spanish and other Latin-based languages; so plenty of opportunities right there.
Si Angel Rivero aka "Erning" ng Strangebrew ang kauna unahang narinig ko na nagsasalita ng Chavacano sa tv show way back 2003 noong bata pa ako. It's a very special and unique language in the Philippines just like Ilocano and Bisaya. I will learn to speak this in my spare time and I hope it will not disappear.
That's very good...to include Chavacano dialect as one of subjects in school curriculum. I was born in Cavite City but spent most of my time in another city in Central Luzon. I also want to learn Chavacano if possible.
Up to my mother's generation in some parts of visayas besides Zamboanga spoken Spanish at least 70 to 80% of their language. Started with Buenas Dias (good morning). Kumosta mo dinhi sano? Sano was short of Paisano for the Boholanos. Walang mga consuelo (walang consensya). Abswelto (free), we still use that word today. Puerta or puertahan (door). Kastigo heneral o kastigo general ( corporal punishment).
I think its not possible nowadays. Tagalogs and English wants to dominate our country. Also the government is enforcing to make tagalog as official language of the Philippines labeling it as Filipino. Caviteño sounds more Portuguese than in Zamboanga. Since it has origins with Ternetaño which is Portuguese based. Spain ruled Portugal and Dutch(german).

im a zamboangueno and i dont understand most of the words spoken in cavitenos' version of chavacano. for example the "anong ulam", here we would say "cosa de tu ulam?" or "tiene te ulam?"
in cavite city and ternate we say "cosa vianda (vi-yan-da) ".
Because they are using deep spanish with mixed portugese. Actually chavacano caviteno is closer to spanish
