@ChrisVlogz Well I dunno about ten minutes. Maybe you're oversimplifying it a bit. Or maybe you were working on a different model. Either way I already took care of it, took me a few hours to do the whole thing right. But lol, the car only lasted another year or so, until the whole thing was junked. The break lines were completely destroyed and the undercarriage was rusted to all shit. Had holes everywhere. That's what happens when you live in chi-town. That winter salt really does a number on cars.
For anyone needing help fallow I instructions below Buy wire harness for your CAR 1st . Pry around plastic to remove the covering over radio . And look around for screw around it if any. Remove off. 2. Undo bolts to factory radio 3 to 4 depending on year . Pull out radio connections. Color Connect car harness wires to radio harness wires . If you have trouble with illumination or power check fuses 1st then proceed to wires . Make sure your illumination is color connected along with your yellow and black and red . Some cars have ino illumination wire. In that case pair it with the red wire to get a ignition on start . If you have ignition on problems as to were it stays on or drains battery. You need to take red wire of whatever u did . And buy a fuse overlay. It's at any autozone or oriellys . Connect that to fuse box fuse. Must be a ignition on fuse or a power on with ignition fuse . Look at fuse box for fuse info . Fun that fuse connector and wire through fire wall connect behind pedals and go through back and connect that with that red with off your radio harness . And bam powe on ignition works. Also if sound doesnt work . And you did all that. You probably have a stock amp and sub . So take that radio harness blue wire or amp on or signal wire . Many names . And connect that to car harness amp on or signal wire. These are usually blue or blue and white . Good luck .
What about all the screws needed to access the dash DIN for the stereo? I'm aware of how easy it can be to make custom wire harnesses to convert from factory to custom stereos like store bought or AC Delco.
do you have to remove the whole front panel to remove the factory radio or just like in the video it just come off and it looks like that????? anybody????
I'm connecting an amp directly to my for speakers (no subwoofers no head unit) and will be playing music using my tablet via Bluetooth...my question is , can I connect the remote wire to the red wire that turns on the stereo? Thanks
Hey man I have a 99 civic lx, didnt come with a stereo. I bought a dual xdm17bt radio, I triple checked all wires and it still wont turn on when the key is on. What do I do?? I did this same thing to my jeep and it worked fine. No amps but I have all kenwood road series speakers. no sub yet. I spliced into the stock harness and crimped them to the new harness. I am still confused
is that a 2000 Honda civic? I have one but is that how to take out old stock radio? or do u have to unscrew all the plastics off. and unplug heat and everything? if so how did u get just that plastic din out
also I bought a stereo but it only comes with 4 speaker wires so I'm guessing a pair of my speakers won't work if I don't connect them. can I just hook them up to a different color pair of speaker wires ?
The metal casing on the radio needs to be attached to the radio kit before sliding the radio in,otherwise you can just pull the radio without nothing holding it secure. Just saying!
So in my honda theres a lil black box that says icd which is connected into the wiring to the stereo. Any ideas on what it is?? Never seen it in a car before. Ive installed a few diff stereos.
I just got a Honda civic lx and the radio harness was cut so i bought a new one and the colors are not the same i looked it up and hooked it up; my driver side door speaker wont turn on and the radio wont keep my set stations plz help me out.
I have a 91 Civic and there is a stereo currently in the vehicle but the previous owner was Masonite or something and disconnected it somehow. It will turn on and stay on, but I don't get a greeting or anything like that. I've checked the wiring, fuses, and antenna cable a billion times already and still it won't work. Any ideas?
One of my buddies installed a radio in for me, but now my turn signals, hazard lights aren't working. The fuse looks fine, but i don't know jack about the wires behind the radio so i'm not sure what to do. I'm not trying to shell out a buck fifty for a shop if it turns out its just a plug that isn't plugged in. Any tips?
well depending on what year the hazzard is right by the radio that could have got unplugged, but id still bet a fuse is blown somewhere or he accidentally unplugged something
I had the same exact problem, i found that my some of my wiring was connected to the tail lights, so basically who ever had the car before me installed the stereo wrote wrong. It's fixable i got it fixed for free through friends that install systems in cars but it shouldn't be anymore than $60 to fix it. It can also be your ground wire
dude just check your Hazzard light switch it most likely unplugged lol trust me it happens to most people doing radio install that is what it is most of the time just check if that vonnector is plugged in. :)
I did all this to my daughter's 2003 honda civic now some reason her remote that locks and unlocks the car doesnt work. All fuses are good. Is there a wire I'm missing that I needed to hook up? Please help
I have a 95 honda accord that doesn't have the factory plug anymore somebody cut that off. how hard is it to find a factory plug or just wire it all up.
It's really not that hard...I always thought a remote start was impossible and I just did it last week really not that hard just need your wiring diagram
Can you do me a favor and send me. A pic of the fuse diagram mine does not have it and really need it to figure out my fuses cause my interior lights are not working so can u do that favor for me thanks
Yea, striping, soldering, crimping and sealing all those different colors wires together is "pretty simple and easy". What is he doing? A folded, taped up mess. This freakin guy?!
OK so you all will probably say its because I am a woman, but here is what I've screwed up. Connected all the wires correctly, disconnected factory correctly. Plugged it up and now my back speakers sizzle and crack and don't work most of the time, and I have no interior dash board lights. Everything else works. I also need to replace and antenna, needs to be done, not something I have done.. Any tips.
+Cody the Car Guy would installing a double din stereo be more complicated the ones with touchscreen and also I want to upgrade my stock speakers as well but stock speakers run about 80 watts is what I have heard or Even lower while good speakers I want like Polk or Rockford Fosgate run like 380 watts is what it says would I need more work done I want better audio and keep the speaker's in the same place but the power required
I did that to mines and put a after market radio receiver with a amp and to subs 600watts and my running lights were on and no power to the amp so idk wat happen put the old radio back with the cassette put the code and no running lights
I hate people like you, buying cars off your kind is a nightmare. I can imagine nothing is torqued to spec, shortcuts taken and an absolute curse for any new owner.

Ok what’s the orange and red wire go ?
sounds like Dr.Phil
it can be just blue ,youll want to hook that wire to the remote turn on so your amp will turn on and off with the radio
The monster joke had me dead😂 good vid 👍
I like your style. Thanks for the lesson.
Thank you for making this!
Hey how do u remove the stock deck first?
It's easy to put one in. But a whole other task to take the factory unit out, it's a pain in the ass.
Uberphat very true, I broke my dash trying to get mine out
yeah used my whole fucking day busting my ass getting the old one out and i’m 14!
