You do not have the followers or views you deserve. Your recipes have never disappointed me. Some of my favorite recipes have come from your channel. These cookies are delicious!! 😋. Big thanks from me and my family!
Thank you for your easy step by step recipes, you make it so easy for non bakers. These are the best cookies I have ever made, my family and friends love them.
I found this recipe to do a sort of Mashup to try and reproduce a specific cookie my father in law made for my husband as a kid. He only made these cookies to go hunting, and it's kind of a trail mix in cookie form, if you will. Hubby wanted to test me since we live a ways from his father now, and so here we are. I've made these a few times already, and instead of JUST raisins, he has me put in 2 cups of mixed dried fruits. Raisins, white raisins, cherries, cranberries, chopped up dates, and apricots. I left everything else exactly the same, and MY GOODNESS these cookies! Even though I put an extra half cup of fruit in them, they stay together, they're nice and chewy, and EVERYBODY loves them! My husband immediately went and bought POUNDS of dried fruit to make this a thing. I can't wait to lay a few on my father in law this deer season, if I see him. 😂 Thank you so much for posting!
Just WOW! I was a little skeptical because I have never made oatmeal raisin cookies before. I have only had the "store made" kind. These were a complete hit! Making them for the holidays as a new "tradition" Thank you for the great, fast and clear video!
I made these and took suggestion of doubling the molasses and cinnamon from a previous commenter and also only had quick oats.,, well, these came out so delicious and I don’t even like raisin oatmeal cookies, made these for a neighbor, but happy to say I will be making these in the future again., thank you for sharing this recipe😊
These cookies turn out great. Love oatmeal raisin cookies. They have been my favorites as long as I can remember. I can cook anything, but I am not a great baker. But these were easy and turned out so good. It's just about perfect.
I'm a 63 year old single man and I was looking for that one snack as to replace my sweet tooth store runs. These are awesome! Thank you 😊 💓 My guilt is gone from accumulating plastic containers 😅
Thank you so much for the video 👍🏾👍🏾. I love oatmeal raisin cookies. Your recipe is the best. Thanks for the tip about letting the cookies finish cooking out of the oven. I appreciate it. Take care ✌🏾
This is a great recipe! I love the addition of molasses to the mixture. It really adds another dimension to this cookie. The cornstarch also helped hold the shape of these cookies. I was initially skeptical about the cornstarch, but it works. I made these today and posted about them on my IG account as well. We love these cookies. They are hard to stop eating!
I made these cookies for my mom and she loved them! Just have to say she loves the best and this recipe delivered her high expectations. I have subscribed to your channel and look forward to more recipes. Thank you!!
I tried this recipe out and added a little more cinnamon and added 1/2 tsp of maple extract.. chilled my tester dough for like 2 hours and chilled the rest overnight and OMG! I ate my tester cookies SOO fast 🤣🤣 thanks!

Used your recipe to make 2 huge batches for Christmas, they turned out amazing. I also added nutmeg along with cinnamon. Thank you for sharing the recipe
Just made these, the smell in my kitchen and the drooling family members says it all. I need to double the recipe from now on, LOL. These are amazing! The molasses adds a great touch! I did add a bit more cinnamon, and I also added a 1/4 tsp. nutmeg to the dry ingredients.
tyvm for your SUPER efficient & engaged recipie delivery!!! I will b scrolling for additional options, cuz yours came up first. The hand mixing is a priority For now...U r at THE TOP of the list. Just SUPER splendid, u r !!!
Made these last month and they were great! I’m back because I’m about to make them again. I had baked some right away but had also frozen some dough balls and baked some more fresh on demand. Fantastic. I halved the recipe last time I think but there was no need for my caution.
Such a great channel! Solid recipes ALL OVER THE PLACE! Thanks for the inspiration here. The recipe layout is really the best I have ever seen! As a guy, I admit to needing all the help I can get! The kids and I love using their mom's recipe for chocolate chip/butterscotch cookies, but I like oatmeal raisin and seems Sam's club has a decent version...but they are always the first to go out of the assorted box! So this has been a long time coming! Customized just a bit, but the result has been amazing! Soft, chewy and the aroma of the cookie is satisfying before you even taste it! I never would have got here without your help! Always great stuff here, thanks so much! You are the Queen! (I also doubled molasses & cinnamon. We use butter Crisco, but I think I must try the butter sometime. You Rock! Ty!) PS - My kids aren't big raisin fans either, so these are just for Dad, well and my guitar buddy!
10/15/23: I made these yesterday and WOW, they came out incredible, moist, chewy and full of flavor. Everyone in my family loved them. I was amazed as to how much the recipe yielded. Thanks again. I will be making these again. 😊

Hello Sugar Spun, I love Oatmeal Raisin Cookies, And that looks Amazing good. For sure I 'm going to make these, Your a Great Baker, 👍👍👍 God Bless you 🙏🙏
Great recipe. I only had salted butter so I reduced the salt to a Scant 1/4 tsp. Also I didn't melt the butter, I just used room temperature butter. I did not refrigerate dough. However with these minor changes, it was a very good tasting chewy cookie recipe. PS. My hubby isn't fond of raisins either so I just substituted walnuts.

Made your cookies today, I will confess even though I watched you twice make and bake these cookies I was still a little Leary about using all butter in the cookies, lol didn’t want to trust the process because I made a batch of some really bad no bake cookies last night. Soooo I will confess I used 1/2 cup butter and 1/2 cup butter crisco melted. Yeah I know and I’m one of those people that say (you changed the recipe no wonder it didn’t turn out) but by doing this it took the fridge step out, after scooping had to also slightly pat down and they turned out to be a better recipe than mine, so this is my new recipe thank you again. Loved the molasses idea, even though personally I could not taste it, but my hubby said he did…maybe he did….1 tablespoon in all that batter…lol anywho, thank you again for a great perfected recipe…

I am waiting on the fridge process but i think mine are runny already. I didn't weigh my flour but I'm going to add 1/8 cup and mix in well. Will be making again for sure the dough tastes amazing
Ok, just made em. I added the 1/8 cup of flour, and they are delicious. I have long suspected my measuring cup of being slightly under, and this recipe confirmed it. These cookies are incredibly moist and sweet but not overpowering. I'm not an oatmeal raisin cookie lover, but these could change my mind❤
I really wanted you to break open the cookie at the end because you had talked about how not to overtake the center and let finish on pan while cooling to ensure it’s soft in center. It would have been nice to see the center of yours.
Just made these over the weekend and they were amazing! I used rice flour instead of cornstarch (not available) and also accidentally brought sultanas but didn't make any difference still delicious. Thanks for the great recipe.
Instead of doing both dark brown sugar and granulated sugar, I bet you can just use more dark brown sugar and skip the molasses. Brown sugar is just plain white sugar with molasses added back in. Nice recipe though!
@SugarSpunRun two tablespoons of molasses to one cup of white granulated sugar is dark brown sugar. One tablespoon of molasses is light brown sugar. I don't like to have uni-tools/ingredients as much as possible so I always make my own brown sugar. Never had an issue
I am a baker for over 40 years I made oatmeal cookies all my life, I tried your recipe and I can tell you I will be making your because it’s delicious and you did a good job explaining the recipe, the only thing I change I double the molasses and the cinnamon.

It makes the cookies softer and chewier. 😊

What for the corn starch?
Corn starch helps with the softness of the cookies. You can use some extra flour as a substitute. :)

If you add chocolate/whit chocolate/butterscotch chips, do you add 1/2 raisins and 1/2 “chips” to equal the amount of “add-ins”?
Yes you'll want to keep the same amount of add-ins total so you don't overwhelm the dough. :)
AWESOME :)
Instead of doing both dark brown sugar and granulated sugar, I bet you can just use more dark brown sugar and skip the molasses. Brown sugar is just plain white sugar with molasses added back in. Nice recipe though!
The cookies may not turn out quite the same. You would be altering the moisture content quite a bit and it could cause some issues.
@SugarSpunRun two tablespoons of molasses to one cup of white granulated sugar is dark brown sugar. One tablespoon of molasses is light brown sugar. I don't like to have uni-tools/ingredients as much as possible so I always make my own brown sugar. Never had an issue
Is there something else that could be used in place of the molasses? such as maple syrup?
Maple syrup would work :)
I never use unsalted butter. Will using salted butter, and omitting the extra salt, cause the cookies to spread?
I would reduce the salt to just 1/4 teaspoon. It will not cause the cookies to spread. :)
