John!! I used your decadent devils food chocolate cake recipe to make my sisters baby shower cakes. For 70 people! I made 10 cakes, layered them and had chocolate fudge ganache in between the layers, with your cream cheese frosting on the outside. I watched your video with each cake batch. And I got 70 compliments that this was the BEST cake they had ever eaten…and the best part…THIS WAS MY FIRST TIME BAKING EVER 🎉❤ you’re the best!!!! I wish I could attach pictures bc I also decorated them like a boss 🎂

RECIPE ALERT!!! If you print the recipe for these Chewy Oatmeal Cookies it says "one large egg" - in the video John says "two large eggs". I made these cookies using the printed recipe and they were dry, awful and crumbly. I bought new ingredients, weighed everything and hoped for greatness. I read through the recipe again and then watched the video again, and there it was. TWO EGGS - not one.

Made these with my 5 and 7-year-old and they turned out great! 10/10. We substituted 1 cup of raisons for 1 cup of chocolate chips. Chilling before cooking is key to getting them nice and chewy.

My mother always made the oatmeal style chocolate chip cookies, not the plain ones, and to this day it's the only way I like oatmeal. She thought if we were going to have something less healthy then she would make it a bit more healthy by adding oatmeal. She even subbed a half cup whole wheat flour for regular. Every little bit helps. And her add-ins were chocolate chips and coconut. I will try your version, thanks.

Your countertop is LITERALLY room temperature. You feel it's cold because it's obviously colder than 36ºC (body temperature), and it transfers heat really efectively. So, in reality, if you want to heat something quickly from the refrigerator, leaving it on the countertop is actually a good idea.
