This is brilliant 💯 for creativity 😀
Thanks!! I'll go through a "live" method of doing this in next week's live stream ;-)
In the past I have used PowerPoint and used the animation feature to reproduce my stylus writing. That gives me a 'slideshow' to screen record and import into Camtasia. One advantage is that while I am writing on the slide in PowerPoint, I can have whatever image guide I want underneath it. Then I can remove the image, and substitute a solid colour. Or... well, you get the idea.
That's a great way to do it too!
Nice one ❤
Hi, Rob,
Many thanks for your excellent videos. Would you please create a video telling us how to professionally record videos on PowerPoint using Camtasia. I have problem with making the right adjustments with PowerPoint slide size on a large screen computer. When setting the 16:9 aspect ratio, the video on Camtasia canvas and also the published video has black margins.
Thank you.
I'm not sure I understand your workflow. Are you first creating a Powerpoint presentation, and then you want to convert into a video using Camtasia? I can think of a couple ways to do that... but the main thing at setup is to make sure the slides you create in Powerpoint are 16:9 (likely 1920 x 1080 pixels), and then set your Camtasia project up that same way. Then there shouldn't be any issues. Does that help?
@@RobtheMaritimer Yes. First I create my PowerPoint file and then from the Camtasia add-in in my PowerPoint I record a video explaining the contents on the slides. I do this because as a language teacher I use many of the animations in PowerPoint.
Hi Rob from Naples, Italy. Can I in Camtasia record in Italian and have translation as subtitles in English.? Even if not in real time but also in postproduction. Your is the BEST job in Camtasia. TY
You can certainly record in Camtasia in Italian, but there is no "automatic transcribing/subtitling" and also no "translation" capabilities. Your best bet currently would be to transcribe and translate the text in another program first, then bring the translated text into Camtasia either line by line as subtitles, or create an SRT file that you can import. I use Google Translate a lot in my work. I hope that helps :-)
Thanks🤩
Ok I just tried this and couldn't get this to work. I am sure I am doing something wrong. I need for you to go into a little more detail on this one. Like how to size the canvas to be ready for video. Also how did you record this on the ipad. I also think I have to get another stylus. I need some help with this one....
You can size the canvas to whatever size you want... in this video I used 1920x1080 for the canvas in Camtasia, and the same in Goodnotes on the iPad. You could actually set a different size in Goodnotes, but keeping the same aspect ratio is important if you want to be able to "scale your drawing video" to fit in the Camtasia canvas. Recording on the iPad is a feature built into iPad... but you may need to first add it to your control center to get quick access to it like I did. I plan on going into much more detail on this in Tuesday's live stream... this "recording and editing" method, as well as a "live" method that I'll demonstrate in the stream :-)
