A 12 inch long chisel flat nose it on the bench grinder ,dabble of Kroil ,small dead blow knocks it right off no need to hold pulley But yes gents I did come here to see the rotation for removed Thanks for the help 💯👍
Thanks guys, my impeller was corroded flat on a '04 5.4. Top hose never hot, lower never hot., heater core hoses never hot. No air pockets. This was the fix, new water pump which is very small compared to honda civic almost same size
And by explaining the water pump mechanism and how it mates with the fan clutch you just saved me $140 dollars not including the shipping. Thank you for your common sense approach to this process.
This is excellent!!! You just saved my bacon. I could not figure out how to get the shroud up and out without removing the upper radiator hose. Rotation worked!
Had you guys been troubleshooting a cooling issue on this same truck or something? I was just curious because I seen video of you guys replacing a water pump , thermostat & now a fan clutch.
Will it hut anything of you turn everything a bit clockwise when tightening? My idle seems to be rough now when in drive and cold. Unsure if related to changing the fan clutch. I think its important to note to be sure you do not turn backwards.
Is there a way to test if the clutch is properly working? I've had mine replaced in hopes of getting the AC working better. It seems like when the truck is hot at it's 100 degrees out, I'm not hearing the roar of the fan. I can see it's spinning, but I am not sure it's actually pulling as well as it should.
They said the old fan clutch was throwing engine codes, but the fan they replaced did not have a wiring harness. Only electronic clutches can throw engine codes.
Ourselves and Professionals definitely don't belong in the same sentence! An OEM fan clutch (5L3Z 8A616 CB) goes for $80 to $130ish depending on where you are while an aftermarket one from the parts store will probably be cheaper. Book time for the clutch at a shop is ~1.2 hours, so say 1-2 hours multiplied by the labor rates at your local shops.

yall act like its so easy i couldnt find a wrench to put a hole in so i found an old fork and undid it with that like a literal kitchen fork
Thanks guys! I'll be doing this on a 06 F250 4X4. I appreciate the education.
Go on you for offering more options than specialty tool
Great job on the video... you make it an easy fix!
Thank you very much. Do you have a video on the Water Pump wheel replacement????
We do have a video on Water Pump th-cam.com/video/ZZ7hNsYajRE/w-d-xo.html
BlueDriver thank you Very much y’all Rock
My 2007 F150 FX two has a bigger nut around the fan clutch to the flat blade. The standard fan clutch. Wrenches didn’t work.
Excelente video me fue de Gran utilidad y una improvisación de todo un experto 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks
Very Good you just saved me a bunch of money.
About the only time where I've seen a use for a crows foot wrench..
Thanks very much and awesome job explaining process during install/removal 🙏👏👌

Is this similar to do the job on the 4.6? All the videos are usually for the 5.4
great video guy! thank you.

Quick question. If adding fan ( removing electric fan someone out on a f150 I bought) how risky is it leaving same water pump on?
Gracias !!!
How do you take of the sensor on the fan shroud nut 😊
hello, please my f150 2007 has the gear lever stuck on stop help with that ( model lever up )
Can you divide inch pounds by 12 to get ft pounds? Does that work?
Hi, is there any electrical connector to the clutch or fan ? I am bit confused how it works
They said the old fan clutch was throwing engine codes, but the fan they replaced did not have a wiring harness. Only electronic clutches can throw engine codes.
Also no no need to fully remove shroud slips through the front easy enough
A much easier way to break the torque is a hammer on the wrench don't have to worry about a wedge.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Ryobi tool that used that still works 🤣
Awesome but i need to see an actual 2008 F 150 FX4
🙏🏻🙏🏻👍🏻👍🏻😱😱
yeah great video so disliked the last video I watched nobody showed how to get the shroud off with the fan still in place???
i have to do all that thanks to a stuck oil filter
Why so much time showing all that when we asked about the fan cluch
Say I take it to a couple men like yourselves, professionals, how much would I pay. And say I bought the fan clutch, how much for installment

Can you cut the bull crap and get to the point
Useless
