Your lounge/workout wear video from 3 years ago showed up in my feed. 🤣 Noticed that 2023’s outfits are more bulky/oversized w/ heavier fabrics. Will you be making a similar video for “summer” workouts?
I wear these items through Summer too, usually just swapping out the joggers for the shorts. They’re cotton so it’s a very breathable fabric for Summer x
I just bought that exact set from Uniqlo! I am 5’3, and I found that the cropped top fit me a bit funny - it didn’t look cropped, just like it was the wrong size. But am really enjoying the sports bra (sans padding) and leggings so far. ☺️

I'm trying to be more discerning with my lounge wear (for ethics, quality and style) as I really have limiting storage for bulky items and I want to buy pieces that will last for years, not one season. I can’t wear most clothes in these categories because they’re made of polyester, which I’m allergic to. I don’t really like Spandex, either. I’m always looking for 100% cotton, rayon, silk or cashmere for winter. My only exercise is walking, so I don’t really need special clothing, except for great walking shoes. I did find a 100% organic cotton hoodie at Eileen Fisher, which I love. It’s white and cropped, just below waist-length on me, which was exactly what I was looking for.
Swimwear isn’t really an interest of mine as we live in the UK so even in Summer I’m not really wearing it. I have a few old bikinis that I’ll pop on if I’m lying in the garden but no one else can see me so I don’t really care what I look like 😂 If we were to go on a holiday that would involve lots of lounging by a pool/time on the beach then I’d make more effort but that kind of holiday isn’t really our thing as we prefer to be active x

A big yes to Alo Yoga 🙌🏼 I’m personally not a fan of Sporty & Rich though after a bad customer experience, £110 on a sweatshirt and after one cold wash the print was gone ☹️ and I have mixed feelings over the brand name 🥴

I’ve spoken about this in a few different videos over the years but not a dedicated TH-cam video. Magic erasers are my not-so-secret secret 🙊 And also protection spray, I swear by this and use it on every pair of trainers I own, especially fabric ones 🙌🏼
Dear Emma, Thank you for this new video ! I watch all of them and you are a great inspiration when one does not want to dress girlie but still feel chic. I'm surprised that, considering the interest you have in ethics in fashion, you still buy stuff from Uniqlo, which is infamous for working with the slave Ouïghour factories in China. I think that their clothes are often amazing, but I refuse to buy from them (as from Zara or others). But we all have our own battles and can't fight them all ;-)
I definitely have an interest in ethical brands and I’ve cut out so many high street/fast fashion brands in comparison to where I shopped in my 20’s and it’s always a work in progress, not an immediate overnight change. I’m definitely not a perfect example of where you should and shouldn’t shop and I also believe it’s personal choice. I didn’t want to cut out everything high street/affordable and I personally rate the quality of certain items I buy from Uniqlo as well as the other high street brands I still buy from; H&M premium, Cos, Arket and Massimo Dutti so rather than cutting out all brands I focus on buying less but buying items that I know I’ll get wear out of and sticking to brands in which I trust the quality of which then means I don’t need to replace them as often. Yes I totally agree with you in terms of everyone making different choices regarding ethics and sustainability, there will be some things I do that other don’t and vice versa and there’s lots of varying factors involved in every individuals choices ❤️

Yeh I washed my joggers on cold and never tumble dry my clothes so I had the same problem, but not with the hoodies which are the same fabric so it’s weird 🙈
I have to order two full sizes up in New Balance shoes. I’m a US 6.5, but have to get their size 8.5. I returned my most recent pair because they were made extra narrow at the toes (probably to make them look sleeker?), not the former shape. Even in an incredible two full sizes up, and in Wide width, they were super-tight across the toes. I’m looking for a new sneaker brand now. My feet are average, or C width, not FFF!

I have a matching bracelet to my Mejuri necklace but not an anklet. I have a few different anklets but it depends which one you’re talking about. None of them are a chain like this necklace though x

Just a seamless thong. I actually hate thongs with a passion and only wear them with leggings but when exercising my mind is on the workout rather than what my ass is eating 😆 so I can bear to wear them 🙊
I use an eco friendly brand called Ecover. It’s not highly scented like most laundry liquids and fabric softeners so you don’t get that artificial smell and I use a tiny amount. Most of us use far too much detergent, especially if using any kind of pods, so it’s worth experimenting with using less. With fleecy/soft items try swapping out your fabric softening for white vinegar. It keeps fabrics soft whilst also clearing all the build up in your machine which causes fabrics to lose their softness. We buy white vinegar in big bulk sizes off Amazon as it’s great for cleaning in general 🙌🏼 Hope that helps x

Hi Emma, would you say you wear an L in Colorful Standard because you have tall legs? We are the same height, but my upper body-lower body proportions are literally the opposite 😂

I’ve found that any lighter colour leggings show sweat coming through which is why I opt for darker colours so you can’t see it or it’s at least less visible. That said if you’re sweating a lot then at least it’s the sign of a really good work out 🙌🏼
One of it’s founders is Russian, I believe there were 7 or 8 founders, although I believe Mira Duma was the main founder. Pangaia isn’t based, designed or manufactured in Russia. The brand is UK based with no affiliation to Russia aside from that founder. Their main original investment came from Carmen Busquets who famously co-founded Net-a-Porter, she is Venezuelan. So I wouldn’t class Pangaia as a Russian brand.
New Balance is not only not ethically made; it donates exclusively to Republicans. The US Republican Party has taken a HARD right turn toward fascism; so I cant, in good conscience, support NB anymore. Which is a shame, because they make some great shoes.
Could you buy them pre-loved so your feet are still getting that comfort factor but you’re not directly giving NB your money? Also some real bargains to be had on the pre-loved market too 🙌🏼 Just a thought ❤️
@@tamarabrooking4555 50-60% of my NBs have been bought ‘pre-loved’ (although often in new or ‘worn once” condition) and you can find some really cool colour ways that aren’t actually available with retailers any more so if you’re comfortable with doing that I’d highly recommend 😃❤️

I purchased a pair of Pangaia shorts that ended up shrinking in the wash even though I used cold water and hung dry. I had to give them away

Even in an incredible two full sizes up, and in Wide width, they were super-tight across the toes. I’m looking for a new sneaker brand now. My feet are average, or C width, not FFF!

I have a matching bracelet to my Mejuri necklace but not an anklet. I have a few different anklets but it depends which one you’re talking about. None of them are a chain like this necklace though x
I love the Uniqlo airism leggings for running. I think they’re a little short waisted though and so am I so they’re less likely to slide down on me.

Just a seamless thong. I actually hate thongs with a passion and only wear them with leggings but when exercising my mind is on the workout rather than what my ass is eating 😆 so I can bear to wear them 🙊

What do you wash your clothes with? Your NB hoodies look brand new still!
I use an eco friendly brand called Ecover. It’s not highly scented like most laundry liquids and fabric softeners so you don’t get that artificial smell and I use a tiny amount. Most of us use far too much detergent, especially if using any kind of pods, so it’s worth experimenting with using less. With fleecy/soft items try swapping out your fabric softening for white vinegar. It keeps fabrics soft whilst also clearing all the build up in your machine which causes fabrics to lose their softness. We buy white vinegar in big bulk sizes off Amazon as it’s great for cleaning in general 🙌🏼

No my upper body is not where my height is, my height is all in my legs, I wear a L in the tops for the ‘baggy-ness’ 🙊

FYI Girlfriend Collective leggings show sweat stains.
I’ve found that any lighter colour leggings show sweat coming through which is why I opt for darker colours so you can’t see it or it’s at least less visible. That said if you’re sweating a lot then at least it’s the sign of a really good work out 🙌🏼
Pangaia is a russian brand. Can it be called ethically made?
One of it’s founders is Russian, I believe there were 7 or 8 founders, although I believe Mira Duma was the main founder. Pangaia isn’t based, designed or manufactured in Russia. The brand is UK based with no affiliation to Russia aside from that founder. Their main original investment came from Carmen Busquets who famously co-founded Net-a-Porter, she is Venezuelan. So I wouldn’t class Pangaia as a Russian brand.

New Balance is not only not ethically made; it donates exclusively to Republicans. The US Republican Party has taken a HARD right turn toward fascism; so I cant, in good conscience, support NB anymore. Which is a shame, because they make some great shoes.
Could you buy them pre-loved so your feet are still getting that comfort factor but you’re not directly giving NB your money? Also some real bargains to be had on the pre-loved market too 🙌🏼 Just a thought ❤️

@@tamarabrooking4555 50-60% of my NBs have been bought ‘pre-loved’ (although often in new or ‘worn once” condition) and you can find some really cool colour ways that aren’t actually available with retailers any more so if you’re comfortable with doing that I’d highly recommend 😃❤️
