Closet Confessions: How I Cull My Wardrobe, Part 2 | Fashion Haul | Trinny

- Should it stay or should it go? That’s the crucial question I’m asking this week as I dive back into my storage unit for round two of my wardrobe cull. We made good progress last week, but this time I’m determined to be even more ruthless with my decisions. There’s still so much to sort through - mad impulse buys, some vintage treasures that desperately need a modern update, and a plethora of pieces that are making their way to the sale rail. One day, I’ll get around to sorting through the boxes too…
Take a whistle-stop tour through Trinny Woodall’s (fifteen) wardrobes with Closet Confessions. In each episode, Trinny deep-dives into a particular section of her closet, mixing high street, vintage, designer and everything in between. This is everything you’ve ever wanted to know about fashion and styling, from the expert herself.

I cannot say enough about this series. They have forced me to push through the process of culling. Instead of sharing her beautiful memory of an item and concluding, "And that's why it will stay!," Trinny pauses, slows down, and takes a good look at it with her current life in mind. Cull away, Trinny, you have captured your history with these gorgeous pieces in these wonderful videos to be enjoyed/revisited whenever you want!
@@victoriagadd6831🧐Well, you're certainly feeling a bit smug & superior to judge Trinny about what she decides to keep or pass on. She's spent her entire lifetime devoted to helping other's in fashion & successfully starting her own beauty💄 empire.
📸Someone w/a career in high profile fashion💥 & media has always been held to a far HIGHER style standard. The expectations for her visual presentation are significantly higher ⬆️ than for the average bear🐻. Looking good is her chief business, but of course it doesn't mean she shouldn't steward her resources in a powerful & responsible way.
Before any of us get too outraged about others spending habits or lifestyle, we need to examine our own hearts & practices. It is PROPORTIONATE. Remember for the 1 finger pointing firmly at another👉, there are 4 pointing back at us. Ali G: "Check yourself BEFORE you wreck yourself."
It's not DEPRAVED to want to manage the designer bounty she has ALREADY invested💰 in & collected over the ages. It is a smart & sustainable practice🌎. Considering how costly real estate is in London, off-site storage might be a much more affordable choice than her buying a bigger property to store it all. 😬It's not our business. 🤗No children are starving or homeless bcos she tossed out her morning leftovers🍲.
😖Now, many designer & even fast fashion brands are becoming more & more outrageously expensive. Some don't pay living wages. Some constantly consign unsold goods in secret to the ground🗑. We each are responsible to do our own due diligence.
That doesn't mean Trinny should be shamed for being successful. Like us, she needs to evaluate brands based on quality of fabric, workmanship, etc. as well as on their labor & environmental practices. She'll likewise be judged how well she takes care of the things that are already within her own power too (we all will be one day🥺).
I just don't think it's our place to be 👩⚖️judge & jury for anyone. Look to your own actions & contributions to those suffering & in need. Managing our existing wardrobe is wise & important〰️esp. over running out & buying brand new.
🤔It's much like deciding to buy leather goods second hand. Rather than buy plastic faux leather that's bad for the environment. The poor cow🐮 is already gone☠️. Am vegetarian, but using these old garments honors the animal's full sacrifice to nourish & clothe humanity.
🙄If you think Trinny is not up to your exacting standards, maybe it is time to move on. Choose a minimalist influencer who shares your every value. Cheers🥂.

Love seeing Tinny go through all her clothes and hearing the stories 💙
Lila you get to wear your mother's beautiful clothes! Would love to see you in
some!
💕
If I were Trinny, I would cull until I could fit all of the clothes I want to keep in my walk-in and bedroom closets. I would then store Lila’s pieces in a trunk or a hall closet. My goal would be to eliminate the storage unit, as even a climate-controlled unit is not a place for heirloom designer pieces.
I am always at war within myself when I watch Closet Confessions since, like Trinny, I adore clothes and expressing myself through fashion, but the sheer volume of stuff she has I find overwhelming even to watch-perhaps because I am also in my 50s and have felt compelled to begin Swedish death cleaning. I’m not a minimalist, by any means, but my wardrobe is tightly edited and I have more options now than I ever did, outfit-wise.
Living this series, the clothes are gorgeous and I can listen to you speak about fashion for a whole day 💖
I just want to congratulate you all! Watching these culling sessions always gives me so much anxiety because you seem to talk yourselves out of the culling bit! I have always told myself that clothes deserve to be celebrated and worn and if I am not wearing them then I am not honoring them and they deserve to be passed along. At first it was really hard to get rid of beautiful things because I just liked to visit them like old friends but now I see it as opening the door to more evolution. So happy that you ALL committed to letting go. I REALLY enjoyed this episode and look forward to more like it.
💕
I can’t wait for a part 3, but also to see you try and make all the things you’ve taken home work AND to see how ALL the pieces look without their collars.
The coats you have are wonderful and todays fast fashion , there is nothing like these quality pieces. Even high end is not the same . Love this ❤❤❤
Love, love ,love, how creative you can be with vintage clothing, Trinny you’re a true inspiration 😘
LOVING the culling! Please do hours more on this! So therapeutic, and really cool to see the clothes over the decades now move onto new owners. I thought my Jan cull was complete but I’ve gone back and viciously filled another bag today and stuck some items on vinted - feels great to see that closet space coming back! Also made me realise I need to stick to ‘no more Zara’ rule for this year as most of what I culled was Zara. ❤
Jermima is absolutely wonderful. Love her personality and she always seems to ask the questions that I want to ask.
Yes! This is so fun! I’m glad you’re taking your time and letting us see more of the whole experience 💗
Trinny, please do an episode about how to preserve our quality pieces. Also maybe an episode about how our tastes change over the years. Maybe pull out photos and share the pieces you wish you had not culled. I have so much to learn here!
Thanks for letting us into your storage unit again Trinny! So many gems and some fashion mistakes 😊❤. Can’t wait for part 3!
Of course you need a part 3! So many things for Lyla!!
I love seeing into your storage unit and revisiting all these hidden gems. Looking forward to part 3 ❤
Absolutely the best!!!! Can’t wait for part three 🩵🩵🩵
I love the fact that you have made as many fashion mistakes as the rest of us mortals. Love you Trinny ❤
Prada extravaganza!!! 😅 can't wait to see what becomes.of the kept items...I'm afraid lyla's gonna have to do a closet confession now 😉 x
I agree it would be nice to hear Lyla’s opinion ❤
Absolutely...in the next two decades 😂😂😂culling what her mother left for her
Where do you sell your beautiful pieces?
😘Lyla is indeed a 🍀lucky girl to be so enormously loved❤. To have a mother who is completely ❤️🔥passionate about fashion & who considers clothing in her closet that might appeal to her daughter.
My 🥰mom had excellent taste throughout her entire lifetime. I started borrowing from her closet at a young age. Although she was a lot more ✨️glamorous, theatrical, & overtly sensual✨️ than I ever was in real life😁.
She had the fabulous facade of Ginger from 📺Gilligan's Island, but the spirit & kindness of Mary-Ann. She could always deal effectively w/🐺wolfish attention, but it always freaked😳 me out.
🩰She was once accepted by the American Ballet, but her conservative parents forbid her plea to move to New York. She was a complete extrovert while dad, my brother, & I were solid ambiverts. I followed her footsteps in ballet, modern, & jazz dance〰️but also got a passion for life-long learning,📚books, & analysis from my pops😍. I could always find something interesting to wear in her wardrobe.
⏳️We both had extreme hourglass figures, but she was petite. Thankfully, I got more of my hulking dad's height. My mother liked shorter dresses & skirts, but I could still rock them. I even snagged some of her sparkling 💫showgirl gear for parties & special occasions🎉!
😊Her mostly classic chic clothing collection was her legacy. She was very proud of it. She put her heart & soul into it. I was thrilled to inherit it lock, stock, & barrel. Of course, I put my own spin on the things I kept. Wearing her garments still bring me great joy!

I'm looking forward to see how Trinny is going to style the items she brought back home. I'm glad to be wearing a much bigger size than Trinny is, so I won't be tempted to buy one of the things she's selling!😅 I love these culling videos; thanks for sharing this with us.
Re the Fortuny cape: please do not alter it! And rather than selling it, please consider donating it to the V&A costume collection. I feel the same about a few of the Prada items also. They are magnificent examples of their era, and a museum like the V&A ( or the Met or FIT Museum in NYC ) is really where they belong-- unaltered.
If they aren't too fragile a theatre company would extend their life as a garment. Certainly many underfunded academies would appreciate an infusion.
Your declutter is on another level, but is definitely inspiring me to have another cull 😊
I also love how ruthless you're being. It must be so cathartic
When I did my big cull it was the best feeling. What allowed it was
1) accepting I was in a different phase of life.
2) needing to pass stuff on so someone else could wear it before it rotted in my wardrobe 😂
3) finding stores and a style that suited me now, so I actually had something else to wear.
The lesson I learned and advice I would pass to younger women would be WEAR THOSE PIECES NOW. Don't save them" for good". There might only be a decade in your life that they're right for you. You will remember all your favourites and the chapters of your life they represented, and move on to new ones.
Yes please we need Part 3❤
I love these episodes ! I get soo excited at your wardrobe and warehouse stash ❤ love how your style is evolving can't wait for more. Thanks for all the hard work and being in the cold girls ❤❤
I am so loving this series I would love a part 3 yes!! 😊❤ You have an amazing collection and your doing amazing at parting ways it's so hard to let go of things that you have memories to😊
and you really do remember we're and when you got all of your clothes 😊❤❤❤
Thanks for sharing 🙏😊
the red coat looks FABULOUS on you, hope it was a 'keep'!!!
The red, burgundy and brownish red coats are amazing on Trinny ❤
Hi Trinny, love this series! I’m in the process of going through my storage too. Quick tip: Next time you go to your storage wear an all in one catsuit, or fitted top and bottom, it’s easier to try on everything!!
The purple dress from the second rail - OMG so gorgeous on you!!!
Such a fabulous Closet Confession’s. Can’t wait for part 3 🎉🎉🎉
Trinny you have to be ruthless. It’s hard but it could bring joy to others who would never have afforded some of these clothes and the funds it could bring in for worthwhile causes far outweighs the sentimental attachments. You’ll feel liberated. Give some to Molly and Jemima as a treat. They’d love it. Lila will never want for anything so keep some very special things for her. Not too many. It’s just so excessive. The wedding dress should go. It served its purpose. It wowed on the day and I know you would have looked sensational but time to make a decision and shed some (a lot) of possessions which really mean nothing when you consider what deprivation there is in the world. Whatever you do, I’ll still love you to pieces and Molly and Jemima. You’re an inspiration woman of our time. And I adore Susannah too.
Absolutely... give some to Molly and Jemima as a treat... I was totally thinking this as I watched... they so deserve
🤫No, I respectfully disagree. Trinny doesn't have to be 🎖MILITANTLY ruthless about ⬇️ down-sizing her own amazing clothing collection unless it's something that she feels personally driven to do. We need to respect her decisions & priorities. Plus, unlike most of us, she can actually afford to store items she deems of particular value💕.
😉Yes, there's certainly a degree of freedom & relief in off-loading some of our older goods. I got rid of some ultra 🎀feminine dresses that no longer suited my style sensibility or lifestyle. Finding them a good home 🏡 (like w/her darling 💞daughter) was of utmost importance to me. Of course, selling them would give her a chance to take the profits for something special.
From a sentimental😍 & also a style🤩 perspective, I have more MAJOR regrets having been PEER PRESSURED into donating key statement pieces. Also staples that might've only been a size smaller or larger as my ⬆️ weight ⬇️ did take a decade to stabilize ↔️. Things that were several sizes difference (too tight or very oversized) were happily repurposed♻️ &/or released w/my full ✨️blessing.
🤨It gives me absolutely ZERO comfort to think of some savvy thrifter having snagged up those beloved❤ items for a song or worse them sitting in a landfill🗑.
😖And, it's certainly been a struggle shopping second hand (& new outlets) to try to REPLACE those lost STATEMENT pieces & staples.
📦Boxing up & shopping my own closet has made me endlessly
😁happy🤸♀️. I stored things quite creatively in my lifetime & on a significantly smaller scale🤏 too.
Sometimes we only need a temporary breather from garments (&/or 😘people)〰️not a full fledged FOREVER break-up💔. Seasonal closet rotation🔄 based on ❤️🔥hot trends is a smart way to freshen our looks w/o spending a dime.
😳 My wardrobe is NOTHING compared to Trinny's incredibly
💫 dazzling designer collection 💫〰️& yet it has served me extremely well both stylistically & financially over the ages. Some of us live in prohibitively 💰costly cities, so we need to extract maximum 🐔 cluck for buck💳 where ever we can in order to enjoy a decent standard of living.
Not all of us 💲could &/or should🌎 replace our closet every season. For me, it helped that I primarily picked pattern free, high quality, timeless, classic chic that has 💯٪ withstood the 🕰 test of time & ravages of personal weight fluctuations as well as changing taste. Cheers🥂.

So fascinating. Really looking forward to a future CF [or 2] showing how you dressed / altered the pieces you took back home.
I remember seeing you with a lot of these gems but you are wise to let them go as you enter the next exciting phase of your life. My closet is pretty boring in comparison. I have learned so much from you, thanks. Lyla is a lucky young lady.
Please Trinny, Jemima and Molly let us know when the sales start 🤣 I want Trinny’s coats! This is so much fun, thank you for Sharing this with us!!
Yes, I would love one of your coats as well. Please let us know where we can get them.
Me too!!
Part 3 please! I loved so many of those items 😍😍😍😍😍. I am also really glad that Trinny can acknowledge the fact that she has grown/changed as a person and even though she loved some pieces they no longer reflect the person she is now and who she wants to be in the future. I think that we get caught up in the past and hang on to things that don't reflect the person we are now. It's also mind blowing how much clothing she has 😮😂😂😂😂😂😂. I'm a bit envious 😉
So is pure much joy! Trinny, you are so bloody brave! broke my heart that you had to say it isn’t me anymore but we do have to let go. I have been doing a restyle the last few years along with you but no treasures like this 💓
Love the Teal coat!
Loving the burgundy coat
I love how these assistants are not afraid to speak their mind
they could be braver...the yes girl anyways...
I'd negotiate first dibs into my employee contract if i was on the scene
Trinny, you remind me of my ex-mother-in-law who had abundant wealth and an extensive wardrobe. She spent a considerable amount of time managing her belongings, often taking me along. Witnessing her attachment to possessions was draining, and I couldn't understand how she managed the constant cycle.Despite her vitality, she passed away at 66. Be cautious not to let possessions become exhausting. Prioritize what truly matters for your well-being.
so looking forward to part 3 cull, and alterations of your beautiful pieces. Lila is such a lucky girl. Love your videos Trinny. from Laura in Middlesex.
I understand keeping things for Lyla (?), but there's only so much clothing someone can wear (only so many hours in the day/ week/ month etc) before our body size & shape changes with time & experiences anyway (not to mention Lila likely wanting to buy some of her own items for her personal too lol!) Keep the ones you're absolutely sure of for her (that will suit her colouring etc).
Also, why keep so many items that are 'great but... (Except for...)'? Especially since you have so many items that are 'Great, full stop'!
I know sometimes we can regret culling something, but that's what a holding zone is for! Stick all the 'maybe' items on one rack in your storage unit &, if you haven't thought of them in 6-12 months (or however long), then it's time for them to move on! Maybe offer them up to Molly & Jemima before filming the next Closet Confessions on them, though 😂😜
I feel sorry for Lyla would hate to have to wear my mum's clothes
Amazing amazing. Wardrobe envy on steroids here. Part 3, please! xx
Love the series. Looking forward to seeing how they change up to be current
The Prada pieces are timeless. Wow❤️
I love this series! Please go through all the drawers. Some of those coats and dresses I remember from long-ago Closet Confessions!
Oh my gosh Trinny. You have so many beautiful clothes. Im jealous of Lyla and she will look fabulous in them also. I wish i was able to try on a fraction of those clothes but sadly im the wrong size snd shape. Great video and looking forward to part 3
Trinny = happiness with my wardrobe !!!😂❤👍🎉
These are so great and winter is the perfect time to cull and reinvent. Keep going!!!
Brilliant part 2 you where much more ruthless but in a good way. I am inspired to do the same as I tend to hold onto things that I think I might wear again but I really know I will not!!! My I mention that the mauve coat you had on in the car is sooooooooooo your colour. It looked beautiful on you Trinny and I 💜 how you styled it with jeans and chucky boots!!!!
When and where will this fabulous sale start? Love these videos, they are so helpful x
Such fun seeing inside your Aladdin’s Cave of fashion - loved it. ❤
I have found these vidros very helpful...ive upped my basics ....got some plain white trainers and more belts!!!! Had a great clear out!!!! Thanks Trinny ❤
Can’t wait for the next instalment-- this is brilliant- lucky Lyla 😊
Yes ..we need a part 3 ….im loving it
I love this series !!! Thank you so much for sharing Trinny ❤
Molly and Jemayma have the most beautiful voice I ever heard in my life!!!
Trinny keep the robe. Your style is eccentric, artistic and visionary and geniality is in that robe. I am observing you in awe, respectfully. Keep listening your creative muse. Ordinary is easy, creativity is energy. ❤
Oh boy..looking forward to this...coffee ready. Can't wait xx
I’m absolutely shocked at how you remember where you bought each piece, where you wore it and HOW you styled it! Just amazing. Granted, this is what you do for a living, but still it’s quite a feat considering the amount of clothing and accessories you’ve accumulated over the years. Wow.
Love the Zara burgundy coat. I have one love it. I have been searching for some burgundy trousers to go with it too. One of the colours of this year
Love this amd love the comments from Molly and Jemima.
Molly freaks me out everytime I see her as she looks just like I did when I was her age. It's like looking at myself.😮
The solid white dress you want to alter collar on.... the best of the lot
The Gucci jacket , Im in love 🥰 😍
I admire Jemima , she has very soft voice , and attitude , love Molly too, You are so lucky ❤
Cant wait for part 3❤
Molly and Jemima are fantastic!
Love the white Simone Rocha dress
Im ordering a jumper shaver!!! Cant wait😂❤
Love your closet confessions, so inspiring and honest. The best show on clothing/styling. Love that burgundy velvet quilted coat. Are you keeping or selling? Think you should keep.
omg I love Trinny's Russell Bromley's Trainers. But cannot afford them...Next have the identical slip on trainers is so many different colours, white a fabulous gold and blue.
The green baum und pferdgarten😱🫠🥹
Keep it💚
I really enjoyed this. Please can Trinny talk about necklines and in particular collars? You are planning to remove the collars on a number of the items. I am of similar age and have a longish neck and have always thought l should have a collar- but now am not so sure. Thanks
Hi Trinny, Thank you for an all inspiring video about how to declutter the whole wardrobe. It was so interesting to look at what you have to keep for Lyla and what goes and why. Waiting for Part 3. Debbie
Love watching, Trinny is an amazing lady, also Molly and Jemina!
This was a take no prisoners storage unit assault!! Well done. Can’t wait for Part III.
Great video Trinny xxx
I am in love with all of those coats. I find it difficult to find these vitange look type coats.
Oh my, my favourite coat the oink and green❤where we can buy them?
Absolutely love having a tour of Trinny’s storage wardrobe - are you able to tell me where her handbag is from (seen in taxi ride). Thank you!
I love the girls moaning when Trinny wants to let some of the dresses go!😂😂😂
That red coat looks great on you
Oh we love seeing Jemima and Molly ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The cape and men’s kimono are great fabrics. It’s would be nice to reuse the fabric. I could see the kimono fabric crafted into a fitted trouser for summer.
Silk pillow cushion covers for the couch
Love team Molly and Jemima ❤💋
Love you tinny 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤❤
Can’t wait to see what you have in that storage today 🥳
Tips for shoes maintainance
Trinny, I think you should do a pop up store, a few days, and sell your items that way.
Routing for a part 3!
Before Trinny finished talking about her mom's dress, i was screaming, KEEP IT! KEEP IT!!
Now, i too am going to get rid of some old stuff.. It was fun to watch a "TAKE THE COLLAR OFF'CLLOSET CONFESSIONS 😂😂
😊Yes, we definitely need a follow-up try on, ✂️collar removal, & other upcycle ♻️ session w/Azucena👍.
As to the garments that reminded her of her 🥰mum, some garments do give us a 🎉gloriously sweet🎉 memory of our beloved that we rightly wish to cling to.
😉Except when it comes to archiving our memories, we don't always need to keep the item in it's original format tucked away on a rail or in a box 📦. Something we dig out & only glance at special occasions.
🤔Think about textile art 🖼.
If there's a 📷 photo of her mother in the garment, she could consider 🔳 framing the picture & using the textile as the mat around it. This could be kept in a special album or hung on the wall.
Otherwise, she could consider framing a piece of the garment as art on an acid free base & under special ☀️UV glass to keep it dust & critter free. It doesn't have to be a
💥BIG & SPLASHY💥 moment or focal👁👁 point.
🔲 It can be a single petite piece or a small series🔘 that hangs in her dressing room, discreet private hall, or rests attractively on a bookcase. Something she can smile😁 about as she strolls by or sits nearby for a coffee☕️. Just a reminder to keep textiles away from 🌞UV rays.
💻Research clever bespoke
👨🏼🎨artists👩🎨 who are doing amazing things w/textiles for inspiration. Perhaps turn the fabric into the lining of a glass keepsake box for instance.🧵 It can be something easily DIY'd too, but dear Trinny can certainly afford to splurge on more 🪡custom work.
😉There are former NFL players who reused their hoard of game 🏈 footballs. ♻️They had craftsmen who reused the leather to make memorabilia for themselves & loved ones (wallets, key chains, totes, clutches, pockets for tech, so forth).
Believe there's a shop in 🇯🇵Japan that has a family of handcrafters who happily repurpose leather goods to memorialize 👵relatives🧑🦳 who have passed on. They offered different packages where you could choose one or more items that appealed to you (& fit the size of the garment of choice). They turned them into elegant & useful keepsakes (incl. totes, purses, wallets, key chains, frames, bookmarks, bookcovers, & much more).

Hey! [At 5:14 ] you just bought that Zimmerman coat! (I remember because I coveted it!)
Cant get enough!!!
Great video and some fab things for Lyla.
That panda vest!
i’d love your videos. I always have fun watching you and the girls. Thank you. I’d love to know where are you selling the clothes ❤
MISSING TRINNY'S ZARA SHOP UP'S SO MUCH 😢😢 💔 Life is NOT the same without Trinny in ZARA 😮😢 💔
That was fantasticx
Ciao from Italy, problem of many coats&jackets they so narrov looks like out grown too short sleeves, really strange design 😝. That green kind of ponco looks granny. Anyway so happy for you😉 Strange that i didnt think to purchase, i'm too petite but saw some in my style🤔
If only I'd fit the Baum & Pferdgarten coats!!!!😭 From I first laid eyes on them in Copenhagen I loved them! Back then I couldn't afford them, and now I'm too big😖 The colours would look great on me, and the shiny fabric would go with so much in my wardrobe😍😍😍 Anyway, great to see your strategy for deciding what to keep and what not!❤
Puffy h dresses are about to have a moment so wear them while it lasts.❤
