True and honest comment here. There will always be someone that says you should have done this or that, tweaked this, babied that. My non-biased opinion is that your setup is spot on. Your build is how you wanted it and putting out a vid is supposed to help others follow your ideas or perhaps tweak their own, do this and do that. I have been researching turbos for my own needs on a 77' f-150 with a 351w. I was thinking of a single turbo but then I came across your vid and provided info i needed to hear. I'm not wanting a track truck but a driver like yours with the HP and boost settings, for me between 8-10 lbs. There is something majestic to peek under the hood and see not 1 but 2 turbos. Great vid bro, God Bless.
Just seen the video I needed to see. Some quick questions. I want to put a turbo kit on my carburated Blueprint crate engine 383. Its a 10 to 1 compression and already puts out 455 hp.. Is this a good idea for this engine with this much compression already? If so could you help me with the plumbing diagrams and parts I may need to get this going? I ssen everything listed on your video but need further product info. Im very handy with any tool and can build pretty much anything with the right guidance.
Is your block a 2 bolt main? And did you stud the heads? Or stud the bottom end? I didn't hear that info in your vid, unless I missed it. Also, you say "stock", does that include the cam? What heads are you running? I have a 96 chevy RCSB C1500 with a low mileage 5.7 L31 Vortec engine. I am thinking of doing the same setup. I'm not sure if I should go with a single or twin. I know the smaller twins will spool quickly. If going single turbo, I will only go with whatever size that can support up to 550-600HP. I would think a smaller single should spool reasonably quick. I'm not looking to be the fastest, but I do want to be able to screw around with those modern factory 400-500 HP street machines when taunted at the stop light lol
Is this a regular Holley Sniper or the Super Sniper? I’m building a twin turbo 350 with a Holley Sniper in my 64 ChevyII. Thanks for the video, it was very helpful!
It’s the super sniper. I bought that one because it has the stated capability of controlling a boost controller. I’m fairly certain though that a normal sniper would work with a manual boost controller
@@MechanicalAdventures I thought same thing when I seen it better then doing it by the starter in the oil pan he did the same thing had to get a mini starter then someone told him about the fuel pump plate
Nice to see a real world every day turbo install Are those .57 or .63 turbine housing? Maybe 350 crank horsepower from the stock 170-190? Great build here
Good info bro, i was thinking of doing this set up, but i had a change of heart only because of the fact the kit i was going to get was a universal kit & didn't come with the spectra for the carburetor. I have a 72 ford long bed 1/2 ton & i slapped a 292 inline chevy motor with a 700 r-4 in her. Just to piss of all the ford owners! My question is do you know how much hp & torque you have with the twin turbo's? Have you dyno tested her? I'm just curious? I have a blown 292. In other words it has a super charger on her. My other question is do you think turbo charged is better than super charged? Just trying to get info that's all. You seem to know your stuff.
Gary Gushue I prefer turbos you super charger for a few reasons; noise, looks, feeling and because the possibilities are endless w/ turbos (boost wise). For instances I can have be at full boost at 2,500 rpm, and stay at that boost until redline, or with a boost controller make more boost where I want it. Not as easy to do with a supercharger. Right now at 7psi with really conservative timing is say I was in the 300hp at the wheels range. No dyno yet but that’s coming
Hey, what's your thoughts on turbocharging a TBI SBC? I have a SBC with throttle body injection and I want to turbo it but I not sure if it'd work well with the TBI.
Bro , i have an nissan patrol safari inline 6 ( 4.5l Petrol) carburater engine iam interested on this set up 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 can i get your number bro , sorry iam from Middleeast side

Great info. Tuning is always the first thing to consider. Always confirm what parts your tuner prefers.
I'm 2 years later, but it looks really good. 👍
I appreciate the information! And the way you keeping it real, I subscribed just on that woman blowing up joke!

Solid video brus very comprehensive 😎
Exactly what I'm planning on doing
Should put a link to the kit in the description
Nice setup but why is nobody intercooling?
Blowing over a carb or sniper has a natural cooling effect as the air blows over atomized fuel. I never saw IATs over 105ish

Nice truck. Did you use the stock oil pan and oil pump? Also, did you use a windage tray? I'm building a similar project dint want to ruin it. : )
Yes to all
Finally some gen1 action!

2 bolt main. I built the turbo kit and slapped it on a stock 350 at 7 psi. More of a noise maker than street racer, but it was fun.
Cool video I like that setup I thinking of doing me truck twin turbo what’s your part list. Started I want it run that’s a sleeper times two
Good info, what size turbos are those ebay's?
Tim Boro pretty sure they’re just listed as T3/T4 hybrid on eBay
Awesome thank you sir for your time and knowledge very helpful
Question...a drawing of what you did..in sections...who be very nice....showing all parts , diagram..on wiring each part up......
Why in the hell are all the sbc turbo builds no intercooled lol
Where did you get the y pipe from your turbos into the carburetor hat?Your setup looks real good to me
I made it but I think they have something similar on eBay
But it won’t have the blow off valve flange on it. I made all that from a couple 3” elbows
@@MechanicalAdventures I actually have the same kit so I was excited to see this build thanks

I seen some one run there oil drain in to the fuel pump manual plate on the motor
That’s a nifty idea, I’ll have to remember that

FastFoxx 99 I don’t know on the turbine housing but they spool quick. Yeah it really woke this thing right up

Im way off on that, hotrod made over 550 with a tiny cam and nothing else but 10 psi so your at an easy 450 hp
What size wastegates and bov did you end up getting with that kit?
I really have no idea
They are 38-40 mm gates in most kits and a small cheapy bov which seem to work good I have 2 cheap systems going.

70 Monte Carlo first GEN small block 350 what kind of set up should I do for a turbo and be safe
How much money do you want to spend? I’m about $3k into this turbo setup and it’s pretty safe.

Same
Tbi injectors won’t be able to keep up.
Small charge pipes?
same size as turbo outlet, these are pretty small turbos and I wasn't trying to build crazy high HP
Why dont have intercooler?
Time/money/simplicity. I will eventually, but the intake air temps don’t get super hot as it is.
Any updates?
Did a short update video last week. Making good progress wiring the whole truck and adding some goodies along the way
Should have another video in a week or 2

So how does it drive?
A 1/4 mile run would be really beneficial info
I’d like to see both back tires on fire tell they pop👍👍
I’ll see what I can do to make that happen 😂
