Lovely to see some BTS of your industry. You make it seem so very easy! Cracking edit and really wish them all the best with such a fun looking venture.
Dude ... so frenetic and spastic. It fits the music and the vibe of the activity and environment so well! I bet your friends are gonna love it. Thanks for sharing your process! Cheers! 🍻
Nice work and thanks for sharing (and what a cool halloween event)! I always think that if you still like a video after watching it 100 times, that's a good sign- very cool!
Sometimes all you need is to sit down, sip some tea and listen to a great story about some creative people and Halloween... Even if it's after Thanksgiving 😁
You are SO COOL!!! The video is epic! They have to love it! Thanks for sharing the process with us. I've never seen this type of work done before. So Cool!! Hugs, Good buddy!!
Such a cool life you are having! Love all your shows, never know what we are going to see. That is the best thing here. Surprises all around. Keep up all the great work 🎉
That looks such fun. I'm looking forward to you organising a TTA subscribers edition, but you may have to lace the course with doughnuts and cheesecake to get some of us over the finishing line. I'd better start training now. 🍩 Thanks for the insight on how you cut your films, looks like fun, if rather time consuming. I enjoyed "Lisl and the Lorlock",which is currently streaming free online. I'm sure it won the film festival entirely on its own merits, despite what you say.
The donuts and cheesecake course 😂 perfect. Wow, thank you for the kind words about Lisl, that is much appreciated (I’m shocked someone found it lol) 🙏🏼🍰🍻
I know nothing of editing or filming, but you asked for improvement ideas: - audio of shots and cheering - pov footage if shots (I can’t see what it would be like to do, only what it would be like to observe)
Two excellent points that we did in fact bring up ourselves lol. I asked about putting a go pro on the rifle but there was an issue with counter balancing it we didn’t have the gear to do (this was truly an off the cuff day lol). The audio inclusion was an issue for the edit because they were playing copyrighted music in the studio but that is a great suggestion for future content of their events. 🤙🍻
For not being purposefully shot footage, I think your edit captures the essence very well! And while I don't necessarily jive with the music, I don't hate it either lol; good job! On a sidenote and unrelated to your edit: I'm really sad that they're using paintball but weren't doing "force-on-force" style shooting :< Wicked freaking shirt though!
Awesome glad you didn’t hate it lol. I wonder if the force on force thing is maybe too much liability but who knows what they might develop in the future! 🍻
I love the intro of your friends and how you met them. Looks like you have been surrounded by some very cool people. Not only friends, but complete pros to work with. A person can tell how you love the work you do. What program do you use for your sound editing vs video editing? I use Adobe Audition for my sound and commercial production. My home studio I have Adobe Audition and an older editing program called a reel to reel. LOL Thanks for showing your work. I do love to watch a pro go at his art.
lol reel-to-reel! I don’t really do real sound editing so I just work inside Final Cut. This will set your teeth on edge- I also only listen to everything on the machine through a pair of earbuds because I can’t use studio monitors in this apt (at least without serious sound dampening/proofing 😵💫)
@@tabletopalchemy You should see what I have in my home studio for sound dampening. My wife still complains when I have it up too loud. The only reason for the Reel to Reel is that I can get some effects on there that I can't get on a computer program. Sometimes old school is good school.
Do you have a playlist of movies that could be used as a common language? I mean, if you were able to say - I was trying to do something similar to scene X in movie Y. Is that too much work? Not enough benefit? We are similarly aged, so I would expect my watch list to have some parity with yours. But, on the other hand, you live in that medium, while I merely spritz it on my face from time to time. Well, a lot actually. I am a child of the TV. I currently TTRPG with a mate my age and his 20 something son. All the other players at the table get my movie and TV references except the young bloke. It's a dilemma for this group that, aside from forcing the young bloke to sit through a bunch of iconoclastic movies I grew up on, I don't really have a solution for. I find I check my idiom at the door. And find myself less funny than I thought. See your editing has me thinking now. Maybe I can do a movie reference glossary. Currently playing Call of Cthulhu and I passed around a page of slang back then to help us all out. Hmm. ...
lol I declined to do the run myself in favor of running camera😂 Interesting question about movie references - I find the same issue as you with different generations. But I shall ruminate on this notion! 🍻
Awesome. Just a few questions, can you post the longer version of the edit as a Short, can you give us a list of of some of your past projects and where to find them and finally, as a man of a similar age, do you find greying hair is an absolute F'ing nightmare to control!
lol gray hair issues! #1 let’s be thankful we still got some hair right? (I should’ve included that in the last video 😂). #2 I started cutting my own hair around 10 years ago as well as throwing out any comb or brush I had 🤣 Re the 2.5 minute cut, I wouldn’t post it as a short for two reasons: first, shorts are forced into portrait orientation so the image would be very small but more importantly, they may use it on their social accounts and I’d rather share a link if that happens so they get the views, it’s not really my video at all (they were ok with me doing a video about it tho). My IMDB lists some of my projects, but sharing a linked list is maybe a good idea - maybe I can made a video out of that lol (sigh, the constant need for content ideas sometimes makes me … want to vomit 😂).
@@tabletopalchemy Same with the self styling, prior to that I didn't cut it for around 20 years and thanks for the other stuff makes sense about the Director's Cut (!) and yes a potted history of your films would make a great video. I look forward to your videos when I get in from work on a Friday morning. Keep well.
Thanks for the epic video! We are thrilled with how it came out. Next year will be even better.
Can. Not. Wait!! 🏴☠️🍻
Very cool!! Thanks!
Killer edit. Thank you.
You know how to have fun, my friend, I think that I spent my Halloween discussing the merits of silicone grease with the Ace Hardware guy...
😂 hey, sometimes that kind of information is paramount to success (just gotta figure out how to work a beer in there next time lol)🍻

Right on, glad you enjoyed it! 🏴☠️🍻
Awesome job! And great to see the process.
Thanks, much appreciated 🤙🍻
@@tabletopalchemy Out of curiosity, what video editing software did you use?
@fredericapanon207 I currently use FCPx (I’ve used premiere and Davinci in the past too)

Frickin sweet. This would have been awesome to be a part of. My kind of activity!
FUN!

Thanks for a peek BTS of your smashcut video process. Even enjoyed your choice of music. Koala stamp of approval. (Ha ha).
lol awesome thanks! 🏴☠️🍻
Seven words for the algorithm. Cool video.
Much appreciated 😂🍻

This is true - I think they are considering having “monster” op4 actors in there at some point lol
